_Herman_
@Luke K P I just recently found this topic, really good one to read up on! @Andrew John Melvill These ridges are a bit above my level still, but if I understand you well it is critical when going up to first have the ridge lined up with the centerline of the car, two wheels on each side, before going down the other side 2

Needed to stabilize the car on the ridge, transfer the weight over to the slip face. Only then turn down onto the slip face to complete the maneuver. @Herman G great observations from your side on what he did wrong. I have tried to explain how the maneuver should have been carried out. Totally agree. I kind of have the tendency during faster drives to do a seconds count before switching over to the other side. Like this: .....approaching the ridge by going parallel... .... entering the ridge... .... counting 1......2.....3..... .....exiting the ridge in parallel way again. The 3 seconds count would guarantee that the car is fully stabilized and long enough on the ridge before exiting. For a little short wheel base Trooper that's usually all over the place on a ridge it assures me that i've been on the ridge long enough. 3 2 1 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further." M.Seidam
I second @Frederic with the 1 2 3 count very usefull even with the most experienced to have smooth criss cross see below the differences how our intermediates are exiting the death bowl in Sweihan in the first clip see the second clip from inside the cabin of my X 3
GauravSoni
Riding the ridge to shift the momentum is essential for smooth crossover.. 2 1

Luke K P
i feel like he also panics from the fishtailing and hits the brakes.... need to just go with gravity and ride it down rather than panic. @M.Seidam
Frederic
A new video: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/osnkoci46lu4icjaz6qb9/__-_.mp4?rlkey=o8awvb0gchr5p2mu7s17p6vdn&st=ziq53elh&dl=0 What went wrong here? How could this have been avoided? 1 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further."
Andrew John Melvill
Apart from the obvious being an idiot! 1. Not being aware of the surroundings 2. Driving too fast for the conditions 3. Hitting the dip in the side slope hard 4. Trying ro turn back up the slope, ie fighting gravity 5. Once again being a world class idiot
