Morning Fewbie Plus Desert Drive - Ghantoot to Qudra - Dubai - 05 Jan 2025

The drive RSVP is now closed.

After the rain this morning - seems like we are going to have a totally different track than anticipated. While I am not sure of what I am going to see, I am anticipating a lot of green and/or fresh dunes without any tracks and white sand (in my dreams at least). It will be super technical in some parts. There are some moderately big dunes as well. Let's find out.

PS: my topless car would have got wet this morning. It is in the garage so still need to pick up and see.

We will be navigating the "scenic route" on Ch 2 (Looper Constant). Nearest Fuel Station is ADNOCAl Faya Shahinat - 2 (763), I am doubtful if they sell 98 octane. Come on E611 then go towards E311, fill up and take a U turn at Seih Al Sedeirah Roundabout - approx. 15 min detour but nearest to fill in.

Thanks again for a fun morning out @Looper - it’s been a while since I’ve driven on more technical dunes and this type of sand. It was both fun with the well paced sections towards the start, and a good test of skills with the soft sections, especially with the progressive churning of the sand!

See below a couple of snaps…firstly of the leader showing the way, and then the much more rare sight of the three way towing… 😂

thanks @Looper for this scenic drive! sadly, rubber bushings on sway bar gave up on my Yota and sway bar started banging the frame, which made me exit the drive earlier.

But damn it was beautiful this morning! Wasn't it?

And incredibly cold. But jeep owners are made different, I guess. My clock was showing 49F which, which is the lowest I've ever seen on this car (I have weird gauges, I know, I need to google to find out that 49F means "too cold to drive without a roof"). Damn.

Apologies, didn’t see this message. Unfortunately it was quite late as the convoy had already started to leave.

Happy Sunday gents!

Haha…very good. I’m either brave or stupid, and fortunately the difference between the two is almost impossible to tell 😂😂

Best of luck with the repair, real shame to see you leave early!

@Looper Thank you for another excellent drive this morning. The “Part 3” section was a real delight.
