Popular Post Frederic
Another LIWA Adventure ! @Giacomo@DP1011@Ashutosh Garg@Glenn W@Alexanderrr@Imran Asghar@Srikumar@AlexM and camp comrades @Looper and @GauravSoni I was blessed with an amazing group of extremely capable drivers and who happened to be genuine nice guys to spend a weekend with ! We took off from Khanoor around 08:30 and got warmed up in the first technical dunes close to the starting point. The weather went from moderate to quite hot throughout the day, to the point we had to drive with AC on. As the convoy was short and super capable, we ventured deeper into the famous LIWA dunes, which contained deep soft patches and unpredictable bowls. Thanks to brilliant team work we got out of it harmless and mostly with some shovel work. The last hour I gladly handed over the lead to @DP1011 who was able to stretch his legs and took us through some amazing climbs ! On our way to the camp point Looper had shared with us, we got into a little bit of a pickle when @Srikumarhis XJ decided to take some rest in a nice bowl. In an awkward pose where shoveling became useless, we decided to use the winch to pull him a little backwards so he was pulled out of the ditch. After that he was able to reverse and engage the jet engine boosters to drive straight out. All’s well that ends well and thanks to everyone who helped out to create a water dam and Kabir that became our logistics operator 😉. We had a windy evening at the camp fire with plenty of good stories, dancing, and bonfire. These evenings under the stars are unforgettable and the biggest reason I like these adventures ! The next morning we headed out to Moreeb and had our fill climbing (boys will be boys) 🤣. I hope you all enjoyed as much as I did and hope to see more of you next season with perhaps a second convoy. See you soon in the sands again ! 9 1 2 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further."

Popular Post Srikumar
Now that's a weekend well spent. A challenging terrain, with great drivers and an amazing company for the evening. Liwa is never easy and it can never be how ever experienced one might be. It will always make you realize that one needs to respect the terrain. The first part of the terrain is what I would like to refer as the Liwa jungle with the amount of vegetation. As we got deeper in, you could start seeing cleaner dunes with soft deceiving sand. But that's what's make us the appreciate the efforts of the Lead and Second Lead who got us through that terrain even more. Like our Lead rightly said Liwa can never be tamed. It was definitely not the perfect day for me as I was having multiple issues with a bit of underperforming car, but I guess I was quite determined to do the Liwa drive this year and was extremely happy that I could be a part of this challenge. Prior to the stuck in the bowl, I had a feeling that I was going to get into a nasty situation. Sometimes you do need to respect your gut feeling, but with some fantastic team work by everyone I was able to get it out of the sticky spot and reach camp site just before it became dark. With Gaurav Soni and Looper family joining the company became even more amazing. On the way back home, Kabir said the highlight of the drive was the evening spent around the fire place with the stories and some good music. I couldn't agree more. Thank you @Frederic for a brilliantly planned drive and also to exit out the next day morning by 11 AM. It was good to get back home early. Hopefully will see you guys on the next Liwa adventure. 7 3

Glenn W
Hi All, slightly delayed response to last weekends drive. But I just want to say that it was tremendous fun. Difficult terrain, very technical, very soft and mannnn!! the dunes are high. But everyone drove great! … thanks @Frederic @Srikumar @Imran Asghar @DP1011 for your lead(s) and support throughout the drive! First time in LIWA and looking forward to returning in the future. And I can say with confidence that I climbed Moreeb dune, yeah it was the baby side but still I don’t need to tell anybody that 😉😂 apologies to all for my absence during the camp. I was fast asleep 😴 … not sleeping Friday night and driving all day Saturday completely took it out of me. Next time I’ll be more alive and kicking. all the best and I’ll see you all again on the next one 🤟🏻 3 2
