DRIVE DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Carnity off road club Newbie drive, meeting at Al Fayah in the beautiful Abu Dhabi Desert, please ensure your off-road gear is as per your rank and you bring lots of enthusiasm and an abundance of willingness to learn with you. 

MUST READ AND COMPLY

Drive Details

Level:  Newbie and above 

When: Saturday 18th Jan 2025

Meeting time: 7:00 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions)

Meeting Point:  https://maps.app.goo.gl/acreM77zLxB2MRu76

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water & snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Mandatory off-road gears: Newbie and above, Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, Intermediate and above, Tow Rope and 2 soft Shackles.

Note: Please ensure that all of your off-road gear is securely tied down with ratchet straps in the rear compartment of the vehicle. Bungy type tie downs are not suitable for tying down off-road gear.

Approximate finish time: 11:00 AM

P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.
 

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

  • This drive is limited to 12 cars only. RSVP will close on Friday - 1 PM.
  • If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
  • RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
  • Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
  • Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
  • Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
  • Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Dear desert Wanderers @Looper has kindly agreed to take half of the convoy so I will be extending the RSVP list later today 

I will post the convoy orders tomorrow 

looking forward to seeing you all in the sand on Saturday morning 😁

@Zsolt & @Warbs A very war welcome to the Carnity family, I am really looking forward to meeting you both tomorrow, please introduce yourselves with the following information 

Please confirm:

- Car make, model, color

- Confirm you have 10-inch front and rear ground clearance 

- Your car is All or 4wheel drive 

- You have fitted and fit for purpose solid front and rear tow hooks

- Please share your previous offroad experience (if any)

- Please confirm you have completed the reading material and watched the video in the main drive post prior to joining the drive

- Please also confirm you have a radio programmed to all 10 Carnity channels and safety flag.

Dear Desert Wanderers, @frederic demolder, @Zsolt, @Steffi, @Kirill K, @Mark B, @INSTINCT, @Shary, @Krinesh, @Amal Sunil, @Hashem Rihan, @Gary F, @Looper, @Sherry Jacob, @Yury, @Steve Farmer, @Abdullah A., @Vanessa8580, @Sandeep Padhi, @ArSaLaN, @Dipu Francis, @Farook Veettil, @JAISROCK and @Jessica Lambert, as previously communicated we were able to add all from the waitlist to the drive due to @Looper kindly offering to split the convoy and take the lead of the second convoy so a big shout out and thank you to @Looper, Also @Vanessa8580 is joining us allowing us to have support for both drives, so again a big thank you to @Vanessa8580.

  • Please read the pre-drive information below:
    • Be ready at the meeting point by 7:00am (or before) with tires deflated and flag up.
    • Please ensure your programable radio is on, fully charged and set to Channel 4 (446,081) for Convoy 1 and Channel 2 (446.031) for Convoy 2.
    • For first timers to Carnity, please complete all of the mandatory readings and watch the video (accessed from the link below) before arriving at the meeting point for this drive, there may be questions :) .
    • A full pre drive briefing for the drivers will be conducted on the sand before we start moving your full attention will be required. 
    • Please ensure everything in the car is tied down and there are no moving objects, 
      • Ensure that you are using cargo straps and not bungy type restraints to tie your gear down.
    • Please check all car fluids (Oil, Coolant, Screen wash Brake Fluid,etc),
    • Tow hooks are mandatory front and rear and ensure no hanging parts below the chassis.
    • Please ensure you come with a full tank of fuel (as near to full as possible).
    • Ensure you have all the necessary gear for this drive level especially your tire deflator, pressure gauge, compressor, first aid Kit, fire extinguisher, safety flag and radio. (NO FLAG or RADIO = NO DRIVE)

Convoy one led by Davie will line up as per the red line below, please proceed around the around the right hand bend before lining up once you leave the main highway, please keep to the right hand side of the track

Convoy two led by Looper will line up as per the yellow line below, before the right hand bend and please also keep to the right hand side of the track

below are my answers:

- Car make, model, color / Jeep Wrangler Sport, 2014, Grey, 2 door

- Confirm you have 10-inch front and rear ground clearance / Confirm

- Your car is All or 4wheel drive / 4wheel drive

- You have fitted and fit for purpose solid front and rear tow hooks / Confirm

- Please share your previous offroad experience (if any) / Took Masterclass with Gaurav last weekend

- Please confirm you have completed the reading material and watched the video in the main drive post prior to joining the drive / Confirm

- Please also confirm you have a radio programmed to all 10 Carnity channels and safety flag / Confirm have radio and safety flag. Doing programming today :)
