Morning Intermediate Drive - Badayer Sprint - Shuwaib, Sharjah - 4 May 2025

 DRIVE DESCRIPTION

We have started many times at Badayer and few times drove all the way to Shuwaib. But we tend to be tired by the time we reach Shuwaib and not do much there. This time around we will start at Shuwaib so that we can enjoy what that side of the desert has to offer to us.

DRIVE DETAILS

• Level:  Intermediate and above
• When:  04 May 2025, Sunday
• Meeting time:  6:00 AM
• Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8PvzyGvsoZ4j3Zeo6
• Approximate finish time: 09:00 AM
• Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.
• What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
• Recommended off-road gears: Walkie-talkie radio and off-road flag (MANDATORY), plus tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit and fire extinguisher.

RECOMENDED OFF-ROAD GEAR:

• Tire deflator & Tire pressure gauge
• Compressor (MANDATORY)
• Walkie-talkie radio (MANDATORY)

• Shovel, Tow Rope & 2 Shackles

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

• This drive is limited to 10 cars only. RSVP will close on FRIDAY - 12 PM
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Hello there.
 

Is anyone else facing this issue, or is it just me? When I try to opt for the drive by clicking “Going,” the button doesn’t respond even after 2–3 clicks. I often have to refresh the page before it works. Sometimes it successfully enrolls me for the drive, but other times it doesn’t.

 

Also, it seems like the page only loads the initial view. I have to scroll to the bottom and manually click on the drive listing to get to the second page, which shows who has opted in, the list of participants, and download guest list options. Otherwise, it just keeps showing the first page asking me to opt in  for the drive.

 

I’m using the Safari browser on an iPhone. I’ve already reset all settings, but the issue persists. Even replying to a message or topic doesn’t always works. There is something is broken but yet to figure it out. 
 

Any thoughts???

I often have weird behavior on the site whenever i am Wifi on my mobile. The moment i switch over to 5G it works perfectly. Do you find any difference ?

i get the same issue when browsing the site on my VPN. there is a javascript package which is very slow to load in the background for some reason which affects button pushes and reaction emojis. seems to be from the cloudflare product sitting in front of the site..

I am not expert of all these tech stuff but one thing for sure I know that I am facing too these slow things even sometimes when I post the drives from the fastest desk top I have in work or at home !!

This one is inevitable as there will be a load at 7 pm and this happens long time .. having 5 or 10G won’t help 🤣

 whenever someone leaves the drive, I click on the emoji to show I am sad but often it is just a blue heart, as if I liked it... 🥶

Initially I misunderstood that you want to leave the drive, so I posted it. But realizing my folly I deleted my message.

Request all members who will participate to install Garmin Tread app on your phone and set up with your credentials. I will share a group drive code at the start of the drive and will request all participants to join the group drive.

Garmin Tread App will help us to track all members in the convoy should there be any break in the convoy. Garmin Tread App does not record GPS Track, hence you would still want to use Gaia GPS or your favorite GPS App that you use to record the drive. Please however ensure that you exit the group drive after you have finished the drive - otherwise it will keep sharing your location.
