Sure thing, look up Ampex in DIP, they are AC specialists and thats the only thing they do and charges are very reasonable. Im on my phone otherwise I would have posted their link. But google Ampex DIP and it should pop right up. From what I gather, having gone through a huge AC situation last year in my old range rover. And reading all the information providee I think you have a weak blower motor or you blower motor resistor sonetimes called the final stage resistor which controls fan speed is on its way out. Its located behind the glove box on the XJ and is easily accesible and not a hard DIY job. Ductimg behind the dash could also be an issue but easy to solve. Turn motor to full speed, If you hear the blower blowing hard like a mini windstorm going on in your dashboard but no or low air from the vents then you have a leak. I had similar issue in my ride and guess what I fixed the ducting issue with.......duct tape!

Until the time you actually fix the issue, use the windshield sunshade while parking the car and leave all 4 windows 1-2 cms opened so that heat won't be trapped inside.

I work to the book, I don’t bodge things, scam people, make misdiagnoses, charge for work that didn’t need to be done unlike many mechanics in uae, no names dropped. I’d also like to throw this out there, Black engine oil doesn’t necessarily mean it’s cleaning the engine. A well maintained engine shouldn’t be so full of contaminants that it turns the oil black over 1,000 km or less. More often than not, it’s cheap, crappy low grade oil which turns black because it can’t handle the heat and burns and breaks down, thus not protecting the engine. There’s a little thing in chemistry called oxidisation, maybe worth reading up on. Then there’s also the issues of whatever additives are in the oil which will also break down and turn dark over time. If the oil is black instead of dark brown come service time, there’s a good chance the wrong oil was put in, ie not to manufacturer specs. Failing that, maybe it’s time to take a look at your rings and bores.
