@Rahimdad what a great first experience under your lead! So much learnt and experienced and I truly appreciated the difference the climate made for us all on this drive! A tough start but it gave us some stunning sunrise pics and clean air. Have posted some on our gallery. @Aus Alzubaidi check out some early morning silhouette shots where the lens flare made it look like 2 suns rising (you look like luke skywalker in Star Wars ). @Shaaz Sha have to call you out volunteering to CF in what was one of the trickiest drives I have experienced... amazing performance and you were always first out with the shovel every time!! @Ashy it was a really tough start but after that I kept hearing @Rahimdad call out ‘brilliant’ to you and rightly so! Thank you also @N@ved for keeping us going at the back! @Ranjan Das I promised I got some ‘glamour’ shots of your lovely cars and tires (hope that’s enough to give you the memories to go and get some lighter shoes as Rahim advised I will post later this evening the video of the magic winch and @Rahimdad doing the Superman special and flying the Pajero out of a tricky bowl! @Rahimdad thank you for never loosing patience and keeping everyone’s spirits high during the many stops and recoveries! Hello guys, thank you all for a super drive with our very own super man @Rahimdad and special thanks to @RahimdadBhai for providing me with an opportunity for the first time to be the CF in your drive , and I hope I met your expectations. Started off well today and got in to the technical terrains which was not an easy task for many of us since the sand was wet from above. some initial refusals , stucks shoveling and tugs gave us a warm up in the chilled weather and all of us had to struggle a bit in dealing the terrains today. Many of us self recovered some time and at times we had to take out the recovery gears. Thank you @Ranjan Dasfor your help with the winch. Thank you @N@ved @Danish Mohammadand @Niki Patelfor your help in shoveling. Though We cudnt do much of sideys or criss crossing , I believe all of us had some thing or the other to learn from today's drive. Since we had a few refusals and stucks we all had a live tutorial in recoveries and dealing with pop outs etc from our super man!! 🤪Thank you @RahimdadBhai once again for your trust in me and it was a memorable drive with a wonderful convoy. Keep cool and see you soon in the sand. 🙏

We will use Chanel 1 for Radio coms if any, which we will keep to minimum- except for briefing . Focus will be on 1. Stick to your basics and never forget them 2. All types of sand mode driving 3. Self recovery - as much as possible, then the buddy help comes in. Adjacent cars help in recovery - request you all to bring your recovery gear - shovel, soft shackle, floor jack (if you have) and kinetic ropes 4. Some serious off roading 😜🤣 albeit safe. 5. Come with a fuel tank as full as possible. Please note it could be quite foggy in the morning with poor visibility , DRIVE SAFELY TO THE STARTING POINT. See you all tomorrow morning

Drive report The challenge began this morning already on the way to the meeting point. It was very foggy and the visibility was pretty bad. I expected some delays from the drivers to reach the meeting point but surprisingly everyone made it on time .... I decided to wait until there was light to start moving and I also hope the fog would clear up as soon as the sun came up but that was not happening. We started moving around 7am and the further we went into the dunes, the worse the visibility became. After about a half an hour into the drive, @Arman announced on the radio that his car had a pop-out so we quickly fixed that and remained our drive. Because of the fog, the sand was wet and hard on top but very soft underneath so it was a tricky terrain to tackle this morning. It also didn't help that I took everyone through some very technical dunes. We had a few refusals, stucks, crests and another pop-out along the way but all in all we had good fun, some amazing team work and a few good laughs. @Jack Thomas did very well as my second lead although he said he was a bit nervous this morning, getting this responsibility. @Atif, @Rajeevan Vickneswaran and @Rizwanm2, thank you so much for all your help shoveling, tugging, fixing pop-outs and keeping the convoy together. Also @Jon M had a bit of a taste of recovering, he had to use the rope twice to give a tug so he was happy ! It was @varunmehndiratta first fewbie drive and he did amazingly well. @Vineeth John Joseph, always a pleasure to have you in my convoy, I don't hear you a lot but that only means that you don't have any problems .... Everyone, well done and I hope to see you again soon !

With such a nice and strong convoy, and the route that I have in my mind, I'm sure we will have a lot of fun. As Fred already mentioned, following items are essential for our drive, so make sure to bring them: 1) Offroad flag 2) Shovel 3) Pressure gauge / deflator 4) Compressor (gas station nearby has no compressor) 5) Radio with the Carnity frequencies programmed (if you don't know how to do it, you will find the related link in my drive post). Tomorrow, we will use Carnity Radio Channel 1 (446006.25) We would appreciate if everyone could reach our meeting point a few minutes before time, in order to be deflated and ready to go at 2 PM. @Shehzada Umer Naseer there was an old thread between @Ahab Shamaa and @Ale Vallecchi where if your car has the side curtain airbags, there is (was) a switch on the left of your steering wheel to disable this. For the standard front airbags, they likely don’t need any disabling (also explained in that old thread). the switch should be labeled ‘RSCA off’ https://www.toyota.com/owners/resources/dashboard-lights/fj-cruiser/2010?garagePrefVehicle=0&garageModelName=FJ Cruiser&garageYearValue=2010&addToVehicleList=false&remRecentVehicle=false&csrfToken=16106463087468196955100484399401 newer FJs made the side curtain airbags optional so I don’t personally have that switch but have seen it on a number of fellow FJs with that disabled you have the right bags disabled for the drive.
