THE RECOVERY MASTERCLASS DRIVE. This was a drive where everybody witnessed a remarkable recovery of 3 cars from inside of a bowl. From words borrowed from @GauravSoni a pickle situation. When the senior members of the convoy - me, @Ashok chaturvedi & @Pacific raced to check on the safety of the lead @Rizwanm2, the 2nd lead @GauravSoni we found the 3rd car of @Gregory Powell perched high on the slip side of a dune at a height above Rizwans car. Its a miracle no cars banged into each other in the tight bowl. Rizwan had already announced on the radio for the 3rd car to hold and not follow the lead and 2nd lead, Gregory had already crossed the threshold of holding but all 3 were safe but stuck. @Ashok chaturvedi rose to the occasion and kindly offered his new prized possession the WINCH at the disposal of the convoy for the ultimate recovery. Its commendable how Ashok has mastered the controls of the winch so that all 3 cars came out of the bowl like it was a walk in the park. BRAVO Ashok. Rest of the convoy watched the very extreme recovery and I hope they have understood the basics of a master recovery in a safe way which is what the club teaches its members. The instructions from @Rizwanm2, @GauravSoni and @Pacific was precise and all 3 cars continued the drive joining the rest of the convoy. Regarding the drive - it was fantastic and Rizwan really upped the challenges as the convoy was strong. We had our share of a pop out, my rear right tire popped out after hitting soft sand and cross tracks from the rest of the convoy on a side slope 🤣. Fixed in less than 10 min. I had a weird crest also while reversing the car up a high dune. The convoy of very able drivers @Gregory Powell, @Sam K, @Jonny90, @Federico Galbieri, @TT_Dubai, @takeshi sobue @salah2u hadn't had much issues through out the drive and I really enjoyed driving with them. Deliberately didn't mention @Pacific and @Ashok chaturvedi as they are now veterans in desert driving and what can I complement on their impeccable driving and machines. Did everything as expected of them and even played role models to the rest of the convoy. Thank you @Rizwanm2 for hosting the drive. It was fun. See you all soon in another fun drive in the sands. Some pictures are posted in the gallery for all of you to reminiscence our drive.7 points

I always carry few ratchets in different sizes with me @ASAD., Unfortunately the coconut water idea prevented @Zed to tell us how to fix the pop out 🤣4 points

Amazing drive made by you guys. All were on time ready for the drive, where we started moving by 5:30, was going through, till around 6:00, @ASAD. Had the pop out, which after so many trials, didn’t succeed, and had to replace with the spare tyre, and move to the exit to make sure Asad exited safely. Hope the Tyre is not affected Asad, and can be fixed. This took almost an hour, and started moving again, with more desire to make use of time left. Fun started attempting all climbs coming through, and must admit, in general the area has totally changed and the sand is still moving and soft, causing many refusals. Lucky not much stucks, and the shovel was not much required except the 3 times, 2 for the pop outs and one of @Fabien Monleau. We then moved towards the famous iftar and Super Bowls, to have some more fun and challenges, and amazing time spent there. Glad to see all enjoyed the second half of the drive, and happy to see smiling faces. On the way to the exit another pop out with @Chris Wing which was fixed quickly with the help of all. @Rob S amazing SL, and at many times reporting the track details to others, when I miss to do that, thank you Rob. Nice to see your message @GauravSoni early morning to join the drive, and thank you for supporting. @Waqas Parvez thank you for offering help and support whenever required. Glad to see you again @Vaibhav @Ashok chaturvedi @Amir Amiri @Matt.T good to see you again, and wish you a safe trip back. @Zed thank you very much for coming from Abu Dhabi to join us, good to see you again. Everyone has really shown how good controlling the drive and going through challenges. Below screen shots of the drive. Look forward to see you again my friends, with happiness and good health, and nice weekend. Hisham2 points

Thanks for sharing @Zed. Yes, tyre lube along with the ratchet method looks quite a logical way to fix poputs on these wheels in the desert. I was actually surprised that it did pop in the first place since i was running at 11psi but i guess a pocket and sharp turning led to that. think i will buy a ratchet and some lube just in case.1 point

@Islam Soliman, amazing drive on a beautiful morning. Fast paced and action packed first half, climbing large dunes with a mix of technical terrain later on. Was worth waking up at 2:30am 😅. Thank you everyone for an almost seamless drive, have uploaded some pictures in the gallery. Take care and hope to be back in Sweihan soon! 😎1 point

Hi @ASAD. compressing using a ratchet is one way of getting that extra force to re-seat the bead... see this thread where last year we saw a similar situation >>1 point

Drive report coming back to Margham after a long gap for a twilight drive was perfect setting especially for new members to learn the nuances of desert driving. This terrain challenges with the puny looking dunes which can challenge the best of drivers . All was well till dark and following the break , the night bought us to the challenges resulting in multiple refusals , stucks, crests and pop out. All sorted in time with good team work . @takeshi sobue did well for his 2nd lead role , I would urge you to be more communicative as that is what is needed as your experience builds up. Always a pleasure to have you @Thejas Uthran our absolute NB (as per his first drive with Carnity) drove well for someone who was driving in a longish convoy with more experienced members especially at night . Well done 👍🏼 . @Waqas Parvez was wonderful as support - center forwarding , shoveling , advising and tugging all over the place including me when I was stuck in a soft climb unable to get out 😀. Thanks for your support buddy @Anthony Cupit my X mate did well. You have a great reliable car which will take you to more higher and tougher places 😜. There is tons of information on how you can get to know your X better - have fun. @Andrew McCarthy experience was evident as he hardly had any issues negotiating the terrain even at back on churned up tracks . Well done 👍🏼 @Brett Eicher amazing energy and enthusiasm coupled with a classic XJ built to the hilt for desert . Love how you drive - no issues this time and no surgeries 😀😀 @Gaurav Soni our expert support swept and kept the bunch together. Amazed to see how he has got so many sensors to detect the surprises in the terrain 😜😜. Thanks for your support. please do share your pictures or videos in the drive gallery see you all until next time. cheers1 point

Thank you @Waqas Parvez, really missing sand after about 3 weekends away. Will leave it to the situation of the terrain, specially after recent winds. I heard dunes changed and many surprises of pockets on top. Will see how it goes, will rename it to Madmax II if we get crazy 🤪1 point
