  3. Dear Desertnauts before getting into the details of tomorrow's drive, I need to ask you to PLAN FOR A STARTING TIME AT 3:00 PM, due to personal working engagements. I'll personally try to reach the meeting point as close to 2:30PM as possible, and so may you, but it'd be safer if we consider starting the drive a little later, so we count on leaving Badayer at 3:00 PM. The drive will take us across the star dunes closest to Badayer in time to avoid the crowd of sunset goers. From there we'll look for, and aim to reach, all other sets of star dunes, which we'll climb as much as possible, in search for the 2,000 meter plus cumulative climb. We should continue well past Iftar and Super Bowl, to end the drive at the last set of dunes close to Bezhad Ranch, well within Madam sector. The convoy order at the moment is the following: @Gurcharan Mehta in Second Lead @Marek_was003 at #3 @Gautam Banka at #4 @Cristian at #5 @Hugo at #6, and @Sunil Mathew in Sweep. I am looking to have the Second Lead change with the Sweep position halfway through the drive. See you all tomorrow (as mentioned above, actual starting time will be closer to 3:00PM than anticipated). Have a nice evening.

  9. Hello All, hope you are all doing well and ready for your first sand experience on 16 March, Sat. While I'm equally thrilled to host the first Ladies-only Absolute Newbie drive and took some time to get you all personalized advice based on the vehicle you drive. Wrangler owner: @sophiedana @Emma @Iqra Raheel @Bindi @Gráinne @Juanita @Alina Malakaeva Start the car, move in neutral, and hold the brake. Practice how to put the car in 4WD modes - Auto, Part-time and Low. When 4WD light blinking = engaging, solid = engaged it might take a few seconds to get engaged. If it doesn't, try 2H and back to 4H again or drive the car a couple of meters forward or backward to wake up the 4WD system. Press the traction switch for 5 or 7 seconds until you see ESC OFF. if you don't see ESSC OFF its fine that means your car has a single-press traction disable switch which only lights up one orange light in the dashboard. Xterra owner: @Jaswanthi and @Giovana Start the car, move in neutral, and hold the brake. Practice how to put the car in 4WD modes - 4H and 4LO. 10. Dear Desert Drivers, @Nathan @Pedro martinez @RiadJL @Dorian Zissi @rroker @Wilfredo Perez @EbrahimZAF @Rob S @Vipin M @ozgu @Menon @Hani Howeedy @Abhilash Kottakkal Thank you for signing up for the drive in Nahel Saturday morning. In preparation for the drive, please check and make sure that your car is in good condition, especially if you have not driven in the desert for some time. Check tow hooks front and back. Make sure your radio is fully recharged, and is programmed with the 10 Carnity frequencies. (it is always easier to do it quietly at home). I will update tomorrow with indications to reach the meeting point, final attendance and convoy order. Please let me know before that if you changed your plans. @Pedro martinez please check the post above and confirm, thank you.

  12. Dear Lisaili Sailors ! RAMADAN KAREEM ! Thank you for showing your interest for this special Ramadan series drive - and just to re-iterate - This drive will last long for 2 hours in Desert - Post deflation ! The time starts when the sweep confirms movement of convoy in sand ! As I highlighted- It could be 2 hours of drive or could be a mix of dealing with refusals + drive - In the ratio which we will figure out only by 9.30 on Satday ! Dear Confirmed members - can I please request you to update your RSVP, ONLY IF you have change in plans - so the WL members can have visiblity on their Saturday morning plan. Dear WL members - Please keep an eye on the updates here - hopefully we all get to see each other ! Regards One of the Lisaili lovers !
