Hi Guys, just want to update you all on this discussion. Long story short, i got the Geolandars, been to 1 newbie and 1 fewbie drive with them and its been a game changer. On the newbie drive i went to 10.5 psi and last weekend went down to 10.0. I had the air intake of the engine cleaned too. I also learned to use my compressor to clean my air filter before every drive. You can physically see the sand being pushed out, i think this helps the engine breathe. I bought catalytic cleaner, the one you put in the gas tank, usually i think these things are more gimmick, but it had 4k reviews on amazon with 4.6 stars so I thought what thr heck! One last thing i do is use 98 fuel, im sure this helps too. open to suggestions thank you

Wheel spacers can be very helpful to widen the stance of your vehicle a bit, which is recommended after lifting it, so it does not become too top heavy. Some people claim it can cause premature wheel bearing wear. I have not experienced this with my previous vehicle. Just be careful that for RTA inspection it might fail if the tires protrude too far out of the fenders. Another potential issue is that it might rub the fenders a bit.

Great to hear that! i agree that around 10psi is the sweet spot for the Geolanders on the short wheel base Pajero. Of course also good to double check with a second pressure gauge. I remember using a Viair pressure gauge for quite some time (which should be a top tier brand), only to realize that it was showing 10psi where all my other gauges were showing 12psi. Then i verified with inflating at the gas station to 33psi and that viair pressure gauge was showing 30-31psi, so definitely something was wrong, and 2psi in the sand can make a lot of difference Long story short 99% of the pressure gauges are made in China, but you can expect 1-2 psi difference in them. It's hard to tell if the measurement is really correct, but you will definitely feel the difference. cleaning the air filter should be indeed regular practice, and i also recommend checking your fluids the same time (before the drive). Those catalytic cleaners or injector cleaners i would say: it does not harm to try, and i do the same once in a while, where i put some injector cleaner and go for a highway drive in 4th gear to clean out the cobwebs from the exhaust 😁

you should see mine... basically that's one good reason to have a snorkel (contrary to the popular opinion that it is used for water wading). Sand will always be there. And at the bottom of your oil pan too, which shows that the fine sand actually gets into the engine causing slow but visible damage to bearings. The only way to reduce that is to remember to change your air filter (cleaning alone is also good, but that does not mean you can keep the air filter for 10kkm - not in these conditions!), clean your intake after heavy drives and don't follow regular 15kkm oil change, keep it as short as you can: 6-7kkm for those who run extreme drives is a must. And don't even think about any sport or cone filters...
