  5. Good morning @Mark B @Ash S. @Herman G @Dinesh Kumar A @Gary F Thank you for signing up for the drive on tomorrow morning in Sweihan. You can expect a well paced drive, with high dunes and soft sand. It will be FB level, but we will have some high climbs, long ridges, and many opportunities to push the throttle. With the height of the dunes, and the higher speed we may have, you will have to be totally focused on your driving, and avoid fighting the gravity in any situation. In preparation for the drive, please check your car and be sure it is fit for a long desert drive. Remove unnecessary items from the trunk and rear seats area, and secure properly any loose item. We still have a few slots available, late joiners are welcome ! I will indicate the convoy order by the end of the day. Stay tuned !

  9. Hi @Heavenkepper! You are lucky: A Nissan Xterra does not need much as it's very capable in stock condition. There are however a few points to consider: 1. Technical condition. Get it checked completely and serviced before taking it on the sand. Breaking down in the desert is not fun. 2. The stock tow points/recovery points (front and back) can be a bit weak. Many Xterra owners upgrade these. If yours still look OK and are not entirely rusted they will do fine, but if you plan to take it regularly into the desert, it is highly recommended. 3. A custom made bash-plate is a good addition if you start off-roading regularly. It will protect your radiator. 4. A flag holder will be necessary if you drive with the club. Suction cup is a good alternative. The reason you don't have a VDC switch is because the basecamp model did not come with traction control. At least that's one less thing to worry about You will however need to turn off the ABS. This can be done by pulling the ABS fuse inside the electrical fuse box of the engine bay. If you don't like pulling this ABS fuse every time, you can get a killswitch installed, which is a small switch located underneath the dashboard that allows you to turn off the ABS instantly without having to pull any fuses.

  10. DRIVE DESCRIPTION Hello Desert Explorers, Once upon a dune, back in 20th of April 2023, I joined @Varun Mehndiratta's legendary Criss-Cross Train from Qudra to Lisaili. @Looper and @DP1011 were there to keep the train safe as platoon leaders. It was a beautiful chaos of side slopes, crossings, and few "where is the track?" momments. Now it's payback time.. I am hijacking that same train, turning the train around, and driving it back to Qudra! 🚄 🌬️ We will start from the Lisaili side and make our way toward the Qudra. We will park the train at Qudra secret garden. Expect flowing ridges, zig zag, and dunes that like to test both your throttle and your patience. Hop aboard the stolen criss-cross express! let's bring the train without derailing it. 11. Hi @Abhishek Chikara, When we think of Qudra or Lisaili, vegetation and forests come to mind 😅. For the train route, we need to find a track that runs mostly through clean dunes. There may be a few areas we can’t avoid.

  13. Hi @Ishak Thanks and looking forward to the drive. I had a question - do you expect the terrain to be busy or mostly clean desert. Thank you.

  15. Hi @M.Seidam, very sorry to inform, but I'm facing a problem with my car's skid plate (just found out that one of the attachments broke) - won't be able to solve it quickly today and need to drop. If still relevant for @Zsolt he can take my place in the convoy today. Really hope for more night drives going forward, it's such a pity to miss this rare opportunity 😟

I’d really appreciate any valuable input from the community and fellow off-roaders. My car is old 2010 ex military BaseCamp Model, it has 4x4 but i dont see any VDC switch

  20. Hello everyone, Google Maps might send you on a long loop for an extra 10 minutes for no reason. At the final roundabout next to the meeting point pin, just make your way through the roundabout and after completing it, take the first opening to the right. You will find Carnity members deflating at the spot. Posting another zoomed out pic to avoid any confusion because even if we put the pin on the road it will still take you through the unnecessary loop

  21. Dear @M.Seidam, Dear All, My wife just informed me that my older son (8y) is in hospital and he needs to stay there at least for 24h. In the night/morning he had a huge headache and in hospital turns out that he has very strong bacterial infection. Therefore, I am very sad (because car is ready for the trip), but I am not able to join tonight. (I have to stay at home with younger son 4y). I hope to see you next time and sorry for inconvenience. Have fun.
