Dune surfers! @Glenn W @Anoop Nair @Beide Worku @Alexanderrr @Zulfikhar Naiyar @ChrisW @Sam Selim Before the engines fire up this Saturday, there’s a quiet tension in the air — this drive will be about speed. About pushing hard when the terrain allows and holding the line when it gets rough, and knowing that endurance only matters if you have the nerve to chase the horizon. Long stretches, fast sections, technical testing ground, and that relentless push forward — every km we drive, where control, concentration , courage and pace come together. Please ensure your car is in good mechanical condition. @Beide Worku hope the issues with the beast is sorted and ready to go! I will post the meeting point soon..5 points

Thanks everyone, was a real pleasure driving with you all last night. We had some excellent driver discipline on show, with everyone being patient, helpful and driving well. We had some excellent lines through the desert which allowed us to practice side-sloping, up and over crossings and some easy ridgelines. There was a few reminders to us that traction on soft sand and the soft edges of ridges requires more attention to steering and directional control and less use of power. We also at the end of the evening got to practice lots of practical car maintenance! 😄 I hope everyone made it home safely and I look forward to seeing you again soon. In the meantime here’s a few flashbacks from the drive…4 points

First Thank you @Luke K Pfor an amazing trail. It was my first drive with you but had fun for the most part. thank you @Hani crest king @ChrisW @Sam Selim for the support. The group lived to its name for being friendly & supportive. I would personally thank each & everyone with gratitude & a warm thanks for all who helped me to inflate & get on the road. Was a long day & little rest which lead to this. But thank you for being kind & supportive. Sorry Guys to cut short the drive i was soooo looking forward for that coffee & tea break.3 points

Hi guys! 👋 Huge thanks to everyone for jumping in and helping with the tyre situation. Finding out the spare was also a bust was… let’s say humbling 😅 — but you legends still went the extra mile, changed it again, and somehow made it work just enough to get me home. It took about 2.5 hours to crawl back, with air refills every 10 minutes, but mission accomplished: home safe and sound 💪 Honestly, the way everyone came together really shows the kind of stand-up crew we have at Carnity. Hands down, the best off-roading group in the UAE. @Luke K P — those lines were 🔥 man! Riding those ridges was pure fun. @ChrisW @Sam Selim @Hani crest king — massive thanks for the support. The calm, composed way you guys handle stressful situations is something to admire (and learn from!). Looking forward to many more drives soon… once everything is properly fixed 😄🚙3 points

Thank you all for a great drive yesterday, @Luke K P especially thanks growing our confidence in the ridging lines you took and was a pleasure being in second lead ( truck gang is growing strong) and lets keep the coffee club break going. @ChrisW @Sam Selim thank you for the support managing the convoy perfectly and safely.3 points

The evening opened with long, flowing lines across the broad, rounded dunes — the perfect warm‑up to settle everyone into rhythm. As the convoy found its groove, confidence grew quickly. Soon we were carving clean ridge rides and smooth criss‑crosses, the kind of driving that feels effortless when a group is fully in sync. A couple of quick refusals popped up, but they were handled exactly the way they should be: early reactions, turning down, no drama, no digging. That kind of awareness saves a lot of time and energy, and the team deserves credit for it. Balance was restored later when everyone got a turn shovelling my car after I managed to get myself nicely crested.. My usual position stuck on top. thanks @Infaz for the photo above 😁 @Hani crest kingdelivered an excellent Second Lead on his first attempt — clear communication, perfect spacing, and sharp responses to every call. A genuinely strong debut. Unfortunately @Noufal was suffering towards the end with motion sickness, and I hope you're feeling much better now. After a quick exit out, a handful of us re‑entered the dunes for a relaxed coffee break, only to discover a beadlock tyre with sand inside the inner bead that kept loosing pressure and was hissing. We got back to pavement and needed a full replacement. The entire team jumped in without hesitation, turning it into a smooth, collective effort. I hope @Suneedh Wrangler made it home safely afterward with minimum stops to reinflate. Please do go past the tyre shop and have them pull off your tyre, clean and remove sand, and refit it on your wheel. will be good as new again. Also please have them check your spare! @Eddie-Dune-Glider hope you enjoyed your first night drive! its certainly a very different feeling going through all the terrain in the dark. And as always, a big thank you to @ChrisW and @Sam Selim for their steady support throughout the drive. Everyone drove really well and it reflects in how much distance we covered whilst zigzagging through Fayah. Looking forward to the next coffee session... Hope to see you there! Thanks @Hani crest king @Infaz @Eddie-Dune-Glider @Noufal @ChrisW @Talal H @Suneedh Wrangler @Ash S. @Sam Selim P.S. Amazon Ramadan sales have started. If you dont have a jack, I strongly recommend taking advantage of the sales time to pickup a trolley jack. a 2.5 tonne or above is more then adequate for lifting one corner of our vehicles.3 points

Thanks @Frederic, @Luke K P and @Dev_. Sounds like the arb twin under the passenger seat is the better option. Appreciate the advice.2 points

every 10 minutes! ouch man!! Hope you manage to get a good sleep tonight to recover from it. At least we discovered the spare issue at the road-side.. and not 15km deep into the dunes 😁 could not have happened in a better place! See you again on the next one! @Suneedh Wrangler1 point

Just for inflating the tires it’s alright. i have 255/70/r18 , it can do in less than 10min. biggest advantage is that its not taking up any additional space. its neat.1 point

The photos i take with my iphone (live mode off) get uploaded easily in Carnity. The photos i take with my DSLR are in raw format, but i do some cropping and tweaking and then export it into a medium sized JPG as i know there are some size limitations. And in any case a 500kB JPG is good enough for a website forum.1 point

Happened to me last year March (2024). Just a very important note! In Dubai (not sure of the other Emirates), I rang up Dubai Police to ask about the procedure and they told me not to drive the car home as driving without a number plate means the car is not roadworthy and they can confiscate the vehicle. Best to have it towed home and not go on the road until you sorted it.1 point
