  1. We’ve just experienced one of the finest and rarest off-road drives in years, where everything came together perfectly. The weather alone was unreal for March. A cool 25°C, fully overcast skies, and not a hint of harsh sun. What followed made it even more memorable. Drizzle, rolling thunder, sudden sandstorms, and heavy rain bursts hitting together, almost like a brief cloudburst sweeping across the desert. Dramatic, slightly intimidating, yet incredibly exciting. But what truly elevated this drive wasn’t just the conditions, it was the people. An outstanding group of newbies who stayed composed, focused, and eager to learn. Strong and patient support from Fewbie and above members who kept the convoy stable throughout. A highly capable support team that ensured everything ran smoothly despite the challenging visibility, terrain, and even the final stubborn pop-out. A special mention to our new Newbie Lead, @Emanuel, who delivered an exceptional performance. Navigating through low visibility, rain, and shifting sand with confidence, consistently picking clean, safe, and well-judged lines. This was not just a drive. It was one of those rare days where weather, terrain, and team synergy aligned perfectly to create something truly memorable. Thank you all for showing up with such great spirit and patience. I’ve uploaded my images to the gallery and look forward to seeing yours. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/2538-newbie-pink-rock-sharjah-21-mar-2026/

  4. Dear Desertnauts. Thanks a lot for joining the second Drive for Peace" exit. As you have seen from Carnity's announcements page, there is in place e new Safety Protocol in place. Find it here: Keep in mind that the drive has already BEEN CONFIRMED, so please proceed to the meeting point as scheduled, regardless of local alerts, unless you do not feel to join and choose to drop out. In this case, PLEASE POST ON THE THREAD YOUR DECISION TO DROP OUT even at the last minute, so I can receive it and make sure the convoy doesn't wait pointlessly. Other than this, the drive will proceed across the hard-faces from the entry along E14 road (Faqa to Ghantoot), all the way to the E20, in the proximity of Nahil, cross over to Nahil's side, and aim toward Sweihan Farms, just outside Sweihan town. The convoy should line up as follows: @Andrew John Melvill in Second Lead @MarkH at #3 @khurram at #4 @Aser at Center @Sebastian Nohse at #6 @_Piotr_ at #7 and @J-P L in Sweep. See you tomorrow in time for a timely departure. Have a nice and safe Saturday evening.

  5. Hi all, good morning I understand that there were few alerts last night and recieved all clear after that, so if you haven't slept well, feel free to skip the drive. So far drive is on, as we will follow the 1-hour rule. If drive gets cancelled, I'll tag all of you here and post new message. Hope to see you all soon.

  12. Everyone is advised to follow these safety protocols in the event of a government emergency or missile alert, before or during the Carnity Off-road Drives. This combines immediate protection with long-term safety by allowing flexible, individual choices based on the time since the alert. PRE-DRIVE: The 1-Hour Rule Automatic Cancellation: If an official government alert is issued 1 hour or less before the drive's starting time, the drive is immediately CANCELED. Action: All participants must not depart for the meeting point and prioritize their safety at home. The trip lead will also post the drive cancellation on the drive topic, tagging all participants, so make sure your Carnity notifications are enabled. IMMEDIATE REACTION: The Convoy Halt If an alert occurs during the drive, the Lead Marshal will announce "STOP, STOP, STOP" three times. If anyone in the convoy receives an official alert first, inform the trip lead once and keep the radio clear. Action: All cars must stop in an orderly manner towards the closest flat area, immediately (steer down safely from the ridge or dune top). Do not attempt a U-turn or change position, causing panic. Immediately switch off the engine and partially open the window/s (if you prefer to hear the surroundings) and be on standby inside your car. FLEXIBLE RELOCATION: The 5-Minute Choice After five minutes, the initial halt, the convoy will reposition for safety. Action 1 (Move away from crests): Any vehicles stopped on or near a crest must be moved to a lower level to minimize exposure to a potential blast shockwave. Action 2 (Individual Choice): Drivers and passengers must now decide their safe posture based on their own assessment and preference: STAY IN CAR: Remain seated inside your car with the engine off and windows open. EXIT VEHICLE: Move out and position yourself just below the dune crest or "prone on sand"- never on top. Stay close to your vehicle. SAFE EXIT/ALL CLEAR: The Final Protocol After 15 - 20 minutes have passed without an official "All Clear": No "All Clear": The convoy will begin a Safe Exit. This must be a slow, controlled pace along flat tracks, avoiding all dune tops. "All Clear" Received: If a government message arrives, the convoy may regroup and continue the drive as normal. FLEXIBILITY & PARTICIPATION POLICY Always follow the UAE government guidance first. If your area receives alerts before the drive, do not join. Repeated no-show penalties will not apply in such situations. You may withdraw from any drive at any time if you feel unsafe.
