Drive report 1st thanks for being on time allowing us to get away shortly after 6am. We had a good start talking about and practicing climbs. Each car is a bit different when it comes to gearing and power sweet spots. Knowing yout car only comes with practice. From there we had a technical section before the dunes opened up again. Here we had more chances to practise climbs along with ridge riding, switches and how to get out of bowls! To @Sandeep Padhi, @Enrico - Mountain, @Ana, @Lazy Frog, @Rajath Shetty and @khurramm some really good driving from all especially as we pushed your limits on occasions. To @Frederic, @Ishak, @J-P L and @JC_E would never have been able to do this drive without you. Always a pleasure to drive with every one of you.

Splendid drive today @Andrew John Melvill! A fantastic mix of warm-up with some detailed briefings on how to use your momentum, followed by some good practicing in the various bowls and larger dunes. Everyone drove great today, no ropes or shovels used, and the refusals we had were dealt with easily thanks to the great support on the drive. See you all soon in the sand!3 points

POST DRIVE REPORT Thank you everyone for arriving early and being ready for our briefing at 6 am. We welcomed our newest Carnity community members - @jamil abdollah, @Maneesh M, and @Cova. From our discussions yesterday and your posts above, it seems like you all enjoyed yourselves. Indeed, there were plenty of learnings for Maneesh and Cova. We successfully made our way through our planned route starting at Three Trees, making our way northwards through some nice sloping dunes to get everyone used to driving in sand with some skill building along the way. We had a break on the sabkha before making our way to Qudra Secret Dunes. Always a fun place to have some fun. We had to exit Maneesh about 3 hours into the drive because he was down to 1/4 tank of fuel. We re-entered after ensuring he was ok reinflating. After about another 40 minutes we made our way to the exit point, on time. Maneesh had the pleasure of trying to figure out how to drive this hybrid in varying sand conditions. Vanessa and I had some learnings around this too. @Maneesh M it will be especially important for you to ensure you fill up completely at the nearest petrol station to the meeting point so you don't have to exit early on our drives like today. As you progress in drive levels, you will use more petrol as these are increasingly more difficult drives and harder on the cars requiring more petrol. A jerry can may also be a good idea in future. Cova had the experience of driving with his car with limited electrics turned off and then during one of the recoveries we removed the relay. It's important to remove it when the engine is off and to put it back in when it is off as well. It will reset all the warning lights after you do this. Check out Fred's post about this. Thanks a mil to @Vanessa8580 in Sweep and @Yerem Davtyan in Second Lead. Vanessa assisted with many of the stucks and refusals. The drive was a far better experience for everyone as a result of her assistance and support. Yerem's winch, first time use, was a key contributor to getting Maneesh out from a soft mucky patch. @jamil abdollah your previous experience driving in the desert and with your car really showed. You will enjoy the next level more in just a few more Newbie drives. Your quick offers to help during refusals and stucks was very much appreciated. Thank you. It was good to see you again @Khalid Sharaf and good to meet you @Kishor. You both drove well. Our track is below. Having completed 53 kms for a Newbie drive is pretty good actually considering we had some very new desert drivers with us. From the elevation profile, we can remember the nice rolling dunes we had along with our hill climbs. Have a great weekend everyone and see you next time.

Drive Summary We kicked off just as the sun was coming up, taking advantage of the cooler morning and fresh sand in Makhoola. The first section was all about slow, winding turns, wandering around looking for untouched patches of sand and seeing what lines we could find. From there we picked up the pace with some ridge riding, before running into a new fence that we hadn’t seen before. Naturally, we followed it for a while to see where it went and what terrain it opened up. After leaving the fence behind, it was back onto the ridges with some nice flowing sections before finishing through an area of small technical dunes. Plenty to keep things interesting, but with easy exits nearby if needed — a good way to finish the drive without getting committed too deep into the terrain as the temperature started climbing. The GPX track recorded 41.5 km across roughly 2 hours 37 minutes, with the route ranging from around 111 m to 169 m elevation. We were heading out by around 09:30, just in time to beat the worst of the heat. A relaxed sunrise exploration with a bit of everything: fresh sand, smashing turns, ridges, a mystery fence and a technical finish. Great fun and driving. Qudra wouldn't normally be the venue for an IM level drive, however our goal will be to touch every ridge as quickly as we can! A bit of sharing of what the desert thought me today , the destination is important but how you get there is what counts . After 5 refusals I stoped counting ,instead, I kept going , each climb I failed kept me save, going down was just a reset point . DRIVE DESCRIPTION This one is all about exploration. Starting from the westernmost edge of Al Adlah, we’ll point the convoy east and see what we can uncover along the way. There’s no polished route and no guarantee of a clean line through — the aim is to explore, test possibilities and hopefully unlock some new terrain for future drives. Expect plenty of stops, starts, scouting and backtracking. We may find a promising line only to discover it goes nowhere, loop back toward where we started, or suddenly stumble across something completely unexpected. Hi All I am Maneesh and very new to off-roading and carnity. My car is black denza b5 2005, it is relatively new in GCC from BYD. Byd advertise it as a proper 4x4 SUV. Hopefully it will perform well in dunes too.

Drive Briefing. We will enter on the western side, driving along some sand track, before entering some dunes with a bit of vegetation. After picking our way through here we will enter the BLUE zone where we will spend most of our time playing around on the ridges, finding some sidies and maybe testing time short but tight technical dunes. Depending on the heat and the vibes, we will either push on and attempt some higher dunes before exiting at the east side of the camel racing circuit, or we will head due south and exit at the Tilal Resort.

We recommend using a proper 4x4 vehicle with: At least 8–9 inches of ground clearance Front and rear tow/recovery points — factory recovery points are fine A low-range transfer case (4L) For EV and PHEV vehicles, low-range gearing may be limited or unavailable. If you're unsure whether your vehicle is suitable, please contact us before purchasing a subscription. Do I need to modify my vehicle? Not at all. We strongly recommend driving your vehicle in stock condition first so you can understand its capabilities before deciding whether modifications are necessary. After completing a few drives, you'll have a much better understanding of what your particular vehicle may—or may not—need. Common desert-driving upgrades can include: All-terrain (AT) tires Bash/skid plates to protect the radiator and bumpers Bumper trimming to improve approach and departure angles Lift kits Every vehicle is different, and modifications aren't automatically necessary. Unlike many off-road clubs supported by garages, Carnity does not sell or promote vehicle modifications. We encourage members to learn what works for their vehicle and use our community discussions to make informed decisions. What do I need for my first drive? You'll need: A valid UAE driving license A basic understanding of your vehicle's 4x4 settings Minimum Required Equipment Tire pressure gauge — example Tire deflator — example Air compressor — example UHF two-way radio — Baofeng UV5R, UV5RH, Crony MT777, or equivalent Safety flag — bracket or suction-cup mounted Shovel — example First-aid kit — this should be standard equipment in every vehicle Fire extinguisher — this should also be standard equipment in every vehicle Two-way radios and other equipment can also be found at Dragon Mart 1. You're welcome to bring friends and family members as passengers without any additional charges or subscriptions. For your very first drive, however, we recommend driving alone where possible. This helps minimize distractions and allows you to concentrate fully on your vehicle, the convoy, and the instructions from the drive team. Can I pay cash at the drive location? No. For safety and organization, all drives must be booked in advance. Your subscription and RSVP confirmation therefore need to be completed online before the drive. We only accept secure online payments through the Carnity website. Can I try before committing? Absolutely. You have 30 days to try Carnity. If you're not satisfied for any reason, simply submit a refund request. No explanation is required. Visit the Contact Us page and let us know you'd like a refund. Refund requests are processed on the same day and are typically credited back to your card within 3 working days. Can I transfer my previous off-road experience? Yes. If you already have desert-driving experience, you may be eligible for fast-track promotion to Fewbie Level after completing one Newbie drive. Our marshals will assess your driving during your first Newbie drive, taking into consideration both your self-declared previous experience and your demonstrated driving skills.
