  1. Flag missing out is an important issue pointed here. Second is they must be driving without radio and radio etiquette to announce in advance if the first guy has been stuck in the soft sand bowl so that others won't come to worsen the situation. Distance between cars is too less to react and do anything. Black Cherokee that got stuck first was in 2WD, with sand fountain from the rear wheel.
  2. Totally agree, and after getting their license, they go back to their basics and still kill people with their stupidity and arrogance. There should be license cancellation for moderate - serious traffic offense, that will keep drivers on their toe all the time.
  3. So Xterra is final now......? I can smell it.......!
  4. Congratulations Carnity and to all of its members, to make this day possible for realizing the much-awaited dream of CAR COMMUNITY in UAE.
  5. Amazing to see how tech is being used to make people lazy. Where is the love of driving cars gone now......! With all respect of hi-tech sensory world, but autonomous can never replicate real human reaction and still keep the pace. Only thing autonomous is learning now to brake brake and brake on slightest of instant swerve 300 lanes beside, that is not good. I have an adaptive cruise in Range and as much as I love it for the safety aspect, I hate it and stopped using it now as it brakes more often and 9 out of 10 times for some lame reasons. And in the minimal gap, it needs 50 meters in front of it completely empty.
  6. I have used these guys in Sharjah, when I had my Cayenne Turbo and was very happy overall for out of service repairs as my car was maintained at Al Nabooda for regular service. Abu Hassan: 050 4559177 https://goo.gl/maps/CKDq6pmBnWm
  7. Just like to bump my old thread. As per recent exploration of finding the burst fuse in my Range, I spotted LR using 4 FM signal booster, 2 on each side in the boot and glued to some part of car body metal. This setup delivers amazing crisp quality FM reception with awesome bass, that often gets screwed due to bad reception. Can we do that similar style in my Pajero.....?
  8. Just to clarify that I mentioned above pieces of advice to read (only) and not to buy everything especially the comprehensive list of items. However, you will only require walkie-talkie the most so if you can buy that, it will be nice if not we will see if have any spare with us that you can use.
  9. Now you have been tooooo generous today buddy, what happ few cans already down.....!
  10. For all Absolute newbies, please go through below advices written by expert offroaders in Carnity. If you have walkie-talkie (Radio) please charge it fully and bring it, as it's one of the most important offroad gear for a newbie to have clear communication to drive safely off-road and learn faster.
  11. Is that a Shine, you meant? For the leaf spring, many capable offroaders like LC pickup and even Ford Raptor comes with leaf springs, and that squeak is just a bit of character I can say rather than of an irritating noise as it's very mild.
  12. Very valid point and tbh I would say stay away from US specs altogether, stick to GCC one's for no headache and surprises
  13. Really.........! then go for V12 biturbo, why settling for Xterra. Xterra on and offroad is a very good balance and also you can consider FJC within 30-40k budget, but FJC visibility is an issue due to smaller windows, but in performance, it's a tad better than Xterra.
  14. Totally agree with Barry for being nice and considerate to everyone's taste and preferences when it comes to Cars and raises your tolerance and only participate in the thread of your interest. Respect for @desertdude for admitting that he banters the most, and please keep it healthy as sometimes even light-hearted bantering can hurt someone's feeling when you love and respect something so much. @Ren13 I don't remember seeing you being inconsiderate ever tbh, but good to have everyone know their limit and participate with happy and healthy comments. Nice work on your ride, looking fwd to see it soon buddy.
  15. 👍 I have no clue seriously, may be its a leisure project so always on low priority of time management to apply for license.
  16. I had Suzuki Shaolin, India's first bike with 5 gears. The only bike that used to eat the competition was Yahama 350 with double the hp, but only in the long stretch. After the first few months, all my friends and colleagues stopped racing with me, but random road warriors always used to challenge in Delhi traffic. My best timing was 15 minutes for a 22km stretch with 12 red lights and 2 traffic-filled areas. I used to have the same color as in the second video, rather I still have but in rusted and dying state. Now, I have no clue but when I get the license (someday) will do the research and decide.
  17. Probably you have not done biking enough, that's why. I have driven for 3 years every day to work and then for race and rallies during the weekend. I was probably having the fastest bike in Delhi in 1997-2000, good ol days.
  18. I do have the same passion, and if ever I get a license and bike I will opt for riding on an empty road during weekend early morning long drives (out of the city). There are many bikers we see when we plan our offroad trips at the meeting point on Petrol stations.
  19. This is indeed in my things to do list since last 18 years in UAE, and still, now I'm always reluctant due to high-speed of vehicles around here. If you talk about European and Asian countries then bikers are in good majority so every car driver has a sense of spotting them and respecting their lifes. Secondly, in those countries, roads are quite narrow where top speed within a city is not usually above 60-80 km, then here 120-140.
  20. HAHAHAHAH, I was literally expecting some food after your cheesy and catchy title making skill.
  21. Not actually, as Barry mentioned he wants to show "HOW TO DO IT" with tech means he is teaching people to drive a car - now it's up to you to drive on road or straight off the cliff. Secondly, I would still go with computer diagnostic first no matter my eyes and experience says to do soap water test first, just to get things in proper order than shooting in dark. With little tech in place, you can be 100% sure than relying on eyes and experience and waste 4 hours - as I mentioned above. As this OBD II Diagnostic wouldn't take more than 10 mins to run the test and plot the details.
  22. That's a nice move and now Dubai Police should launch campaign with 50% off - as I have few fines pending and waiting for such offer -
