  1. Firstly, please check your car owner manual and go with the exactly the same spec as it says be it 0w30 / 5w40 / whatever If Adnoc Voyager Gold is the same spec as you need, then it's safe to try 100%. Then start researching why international known big brands of Engine Oil like Mobil 1, Castrol, Liqui Molly etc. are better than local brands so you can decide to shell extra money or not.

    Visa amnesty

That's probably the best news I have heard on your long-standing case with ex-employer, who intentionally abused your visa status and didn't even paid your salary for months. Really happy for you, that finally everything got sorted now.
  3. Wonderfully explained with a lot of patience @Barry, here a majority of the mechanic either work with their gut feeling or with overconfidence without relying on the Diagnostic tool lying and eating dust on their workbench. I have encountered the similar scenario when two mechanic challenged each other for my Pajero slight missing and doof doof noise is due to some adjustment/tune-up and wasted my 4 hours. Later on, one newbie mechanic walks in and ask those two experts that what fault code you found in DTC system and they have realized that they should have checked the DTC codes first. After the full diagnosis, they haven't found any fault code as the actual issue was a mechanical issue of slightly bent valves, which later on you fixed it in 2016. So moral of the story is relying on science and automation is always helpful, than shooting in dark.
  4. Perhaps this was a big one for Tesla, as Elon has to step down now for 3 years and face 20m in fine https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/09/29/teslas-elon-musk-settles-with-sec-paying-million-fine-resigning-board-chairman/
  5. Awesome Barry, this is a really nice achievement and you set a very good example for other car enthusiast's to follow.
  6. So true, this seems like an old news as I got one orange sticker on my Pajero when I was traveling for 3 weeks sometime last year. This Dubai municipality sticker for not cleaning the car has worlds strongest glue and world's toughest paper, that I couldn't remove it, then cleaner failed and then took the car to window tinting guy and he took 30 minutes to remove that sticker. He used all the tricks and tools, from the blade, water, alcohol spray and even burning it. Damn, better clean your car guys rather wasting a couple of hours getting it out.
  7. I like how treks mentioned the rightful definition of hate, instead of just being plain vanilla, bland or over a popular car. Thinking on the same line I will have two cars that gave me real tough time fixing them and eventually I have to sell them as is due to losing patience, time and money. Jeep Grand Cherokee (Magnum) - always overheating in the desert - used for 2 months as a project car Land Discovery Series 2 - highly Ineffective braking - used for 6-8 months and couldn't fix the brakes
  8. If I remember correctly, you had Peugeot 206 ish once in red or blue color when you were in Discovery Garden
  9. I totally agree and really hope authorities should come with 24 black points and 20,000 fine like in drunk driving for loose children jumping and popping out of windows and sunroof here in UAE. Damn, every time I see those drivers I feel like stopping them and give them a big lecture. This loose object is kind of new concern now and real eye opener, thanks for sharing.
  10. Welcome to the world of Jeep's.....! Btw the other two fire I have witnessed and saved: One was Jeep Wrangler two-door and Nissan Pathfinder old shape
  11. There you go, dudie https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chrysler-recalling-87000-jeep-wranglers-worldwide-over-fire-risk/
  12. After a bit of digging found something interesting from same guy channel feed comments
  13. If you watch full, you will notice how tall and thick plants or dead wood and metal parts this guy was passing through, esp here. I strongly suspect that some bushes, metal or wood piece burst the radiator bottom hose just before he stopped and switch off the engine. Initial smoke seems like when you drive without coolant and engine is tossed, seen this exact thick white smoke before a couple of times just before car catches the fire. Though this guy looks very calm, compose and organized throughout the disaster and said he used two fire extinguisher and 2 gallons of water. What I suspect is he wasted the fire extinguisher on flames rather than the base of the water and then 2 gallons water help spread the fire in the engine bay to the other heated parts. In such a scenario, even if he would have closed the hood of the engine there are very strong chances he would have saved from this disaster as by cutting the oxygen alone you can put off the fire. Anyways quite a few lessons for all us here: Don't cross thick tall plants and bushes, unless your car underbody is fully protected with bash and skid plates Never drive alone, at least go with 2-3 cars in any off-road terrain. Keep fire extinguishers handy and always use with a calm and focused approach to point them at the base of the fire. For engine bay fire, putting sand inside the engine bay is better than water to not to spread the fire from leaking fluid that has already caught fire - fuel, engine oil, brake oil, gear oil etc. Keep your emergency items handy to escape in case you need to leave the vehicle suddenly. Always remember to grab your wallet and phone to call for help and deal through the situation.

  16. Now as Oil is on the move as per many analysts it might cross 100 mark soon, I'm wondering what will happen with UAE fuel prices, probably soon to 3.5 dhs per liter instead of gallon till a few years back. Dinky cars will eventually rule here too like rest of the world, instead of V8's and bigger cubic engines.....!
  17. I'm over 90% sure that 2008 Pajero came with the timing belt, as in Mitsubishi majority vehicles have timing belt other than some specialized one like Evo and Eclipse came with a chain in few years only.

    US specs CARS

Only two words - "STAY AWAY" OMG, that's really disgusting.
  19. Good sense of humor Barry, I do get lifetime ban now, lololol, as the way I listen to Radio is always hopping channels to dodge the talk and commercials to find a good music of any language. I even sometimes listen to Iranian Arabic and Russian music as they do play nice numbers sometimes. My last resort is my flash drive that has tons of songs which I have already listen million times.
  20. So finally you are giving up on petrol for just 456 hp.....! eeeewwww Barry Jokes apart, this looks like a Camaro and Mustang mashup.
  21. Wow, she was really nice with handling and cornering to the perfection.
  22. If you meant for getting it checked before buying from Jeep experts, totally agree for pre-buying inspection. If you meant for buying a used jeep from these garages, then I don't think it as a good idea and one should always aim for the individual seller than any used car dealer/middlemen to be 100% sure of not buying an enamel coated junk box.
