Thank you @Rahimdad for launching this new structure and thanks @Asif Hussain @skumar83 @EmVarlet in helping to develop this structure from your valued experience. This new structure has been implemented and very soon all offroaders will be assigned to their off-road ranks.

What a brutal way to waste knowledge inside a closed box.

Trip report: It was a perfect day and almost perfect weather yesterday. Everyone showed up on time and some before time respecting the punctuality and importance of timekeeping. We started the Absolute Newbie briefing sharp at 2:00 PM with a newly developed format that lasted for 40-45 minutes and clearing up a lot of doubts and sharing the tip and techniques needed for the first offroad drive. All newbie participated with full interaction and understood most of the points, as observed with their behavior during the drive. Thanks to all the Absolute Newbies: @Frederic Nuyttens @srini62 @Jamshad @Julien V @Brette for listening to all the advice and then follow it very precisely during the drive with a cool and calm approach. After the initial briefing, we have assigned the convoy numbering and made sure every car has a radio - very important for communication. As we started the drive, we kept on the track that goes on top of some flat dunes and sabka, to get all the absolute newbie a feel of going up and down the dunes, but without aggressively tackling the dunes. We all visited the camel farm and took some nice pictures and then continue to bump up the drive speed and level to slightly unpaved dunes and the whole convoy response was awesome with very few refusals and no stuck, pretty impressive for absolute newbie level. As soon as we entered the third leg of the drive, we faced with an unfortunate situation of a rollover of an experienced driver due to the reckless behavior ending with an unexpected result. To have such a situation in absolute newbie drive is quite disappointing as many of newbie thinks this may be the usual occurrence in the desert drive and breaks their confidence before it's being made. To be honest, if you drive sensibly and follow the convoy discipline no one will ever end up in such a situation. There are thousands of offroaders who we know personally and driving for decades but they have never had a roll or even a flip. So with this incident, all absolute newbie need to take away this lesson to be careful and follow the instructions, convoy discipline and not to drive recklessly. From my limited experience I can say that the natural or a situational chance for roll/flip is one in 10,000, but being reckless it increases to one in 10 or 100 (at max). So every offroader irrespective of their experience need to drive carefully and SENSIBLY at all times knowing the vehicle limitation and offroad dangers involved. After this mishap, entire convoy still moved ahead and two cars left behind to exit the flipped vehicle safely to the road. As we were in the third leg of the drive, which is slightly more involved due to medium dunes and cross track closer to the pink rock area. This time lot of newbies struggled and learn their way out with the tips and tricks we shared in briefing and with help of experienced drivers advice on site. After an hour of struggling patch, we all reached the pink rock and had a nice break with lots of snacks and drinks. Few expert drivers start testing their vehicle by scaling the Pink rock to the maximum height and others were simply enjoying the company and socializing. By 7 PM we all started to descend on track from the top of Pink rock area and head to 2nd Decemeber (meeting point) to exit on road. Overall it was a wonderful newbie drive with very healthy and enthusiastic participation and we all made new friends from different parts of the Emirates. I seriously think your known garage is not well equipped to advise you in the right direction, as ECU failure is one in 10,000 and more often some of the sensor, wiring or connector fails that throw some error so that you can debug in the right direction. Or maybe fines linked with salary percentage, will teach big boys lesson equally as for guy earning 50K per month, 1-2k for fine is nothing and he will budget this as misc expense every month. However if same become 10-20k then it will pinch his pocket and he will soon start respecting road and drivers

Flag missing out is an important issue pointed here. Second is they must be driving without radio and radio etiquette to announce in advance if the first guy has been stuck in the soft sand bowl so that others won't come to worsen the situation. Distance between cars is too less to react and do anything. Black Cherokee that got stuck first was in 2WD, with sand fountain from the rear wheel.

Totally agree, and after getting their license, they go back to their basics and still kill people with their stupidity and arrogance. There should be license cancellation for moderate - serious traffic offense, that will keep drivers on their toe all the time.

Just like to bump my old thread. As per recent exploration of finding the burst fuse in my Range, I spotted LR using 4 FM signal booster, 2 on each side in the boot and glued to some part of car body metal. This setup delivers amazing crisp quality FM reception with awesome bass, that often gets screwed due to bad reception. Can we do that similar style in my Pajero.....?

Just to clarify that I mentioned above pieces of advice to read (only) and not to buy everything especially the comprehensive list of items. However, you will only require walkie-talkie the most so if you can buy that, it will be nice if not we will see if have any spare with us that you can use.

For all Absolute newbies, please go through below advices written by expert offroaders in Carnity. If you have walkie-talkie (Radio) please charge it fully and bring it, as it's one of the most important offroad gear for a newbie to have clear communication to drive safely off-road and learn faster.

Is that a Shine, you meant? For the leaf spring, many capable offroaders like LC pickup and even Ford Raptor comes with leaf springs, and that squeak is just a bit of character I can say rather than of an irritating noise as it's very mild.

Very valid point and tbh I would say stay away from US specs altogether, stick to GCC one's for no headache and surprises

Really.........! then go for V12 biturbo, why settling for Xterra. Xterra on and offroad is a very good balance and also you can consider FJC within 30-40k budget, but FJC visibility is an issue due to smaller windows, but in performance, it's a tad better than Xterra.

Totally agree with Barry for being nice and considerate to everyone's taste and preferences when it comes to Cars and raises your tolerance and only participate in the thread of your interest. Respect for @desertdude for admitting that he banters the most, and please keep it healthy as sometimes even light-hearted bantering can hurt someone's feeling when you love and respect something so much. @Ren13 I don't remember seeing you being inconsiderate ever tbh, but good to have everyone know their limit and participate with happy and healthy comments.
