As an update for all, I have finally installed the new head unit from Pioneer that supports 100x4 RMS output and I'm totally happy with its performance and quality. Now I don't think I need additional amp and sub unless I get bored with this setup. So overall, it costed under 1000 Dhs for complete upgrade for blasting music in my off-road SWB Pajero. 370 Dhs: Pioneer DEH-X4850FD Audio Receiver WITH MIXTRAX 150 Dhs: Front door: Pioneer TS-A1686S (6.5 Inch)- 350W - 60W RMS 200 Dhs: Back Seat: Pioneer TS-A6996S (6 Inch x 9 Inch) - 650W - 100W RMS 200 Dhs: Speaker installation labor 50 Dhs: Head unit installation labor For further improving the noise on high levels, I also got the oxygen free cable that I am yet to install as soon as I have free time. However with pioneer supplied cables output is already amazing, but want to try this oxygen free cable to see what difference they will make as everyone recommends it.

It's a perfect time for enjoying some wadi excursion now after few sand off-road and on-road trips. Next on the card is picturesque landscape of wadi shawka in RAK. This will be soon next green tourist destination of RAK. Thanks to the Shawka dam that holds 275,000 cubic meter of rain water to slowly disperse evenly to protect farms and enhance the greenery of this beautiful wadi and preserve wildlife. It is ideal location for family recreational and picnic get together with bbq. Plan is to enjoy the Shawka dam surroundings and find a good spot for lunch and bbq like always. After the lunch we will explore the wadi shawka track more deeper inside and hoping to exit from the back side of the shawka if condition permits or else return to entrance for safer exit. Read more about what all you can do in Wadi Shawka What to expect: Mountain track, Shawka Dam, Water ponds, greenery, birds, hiking trek & great company. Date: 03 March, Friday, 2017 Meeting time: 12:30 PM Meeting point: Last ADNOC at sharjah - kalba road GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/sr2UeSoppzt Level of drive: Slightly challenging after lunch, hence only 4x4 's with reasonable ground clearance are preferable What to bring along: Stuff for BBQ or lunch with a little extra to share with all, grill, charcoal, lighter fluid and BBQ meat or chicken, water, liquids, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 6 - 7 PM

Thanks everyone for joining with such great enthusiasm and community spirit. We had yet another fantastic carnity drive to explore the hidden gem - Zakher Lake inside the desert of Al Ain. Thanks @Rahimdad for showing such great place and supporting every bit of the drive from leading a short adrenaline filled dune bashing to pushing a 2WD drive in deep sands. Overall we had 7 cars - Nissan Pathfinder, Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Prado, Ford Escape, Jeep Wrangler and 2 Mitsubishi Pajero's. All cars with little push and pull made it to slightly deeper spot for better view of dunes and lake. We had lovely barbecue and late lunch filled with multi-cuisine dishes. We all enjoyed the awesome weather in super awesome place with amazing company of easy and fun-loving members. Here are the pictures from my camera, hope to see other's pictures soon:

I'm using black and decker car vacuum cleaner from souq for 135 dhs for my wife car and sometimes for my offroad car, reasonably happy with its performance as suction is just enough to pick most of the stuff, but not like home cleaner as it runs on 12V.
-
Just another thing to check if this is 100% onroad car or you plan for offroad on weekends too. Although both are capable offroad but also check the ground clearance, approach and departure angles, performance and offroad protection required for both before making up your mind.

Sorry to hear about your story Rahimdad, but still it wasn't the case of theft and it has just been confiscated to preserve the beautification of the land. Back to OP, I haven't seen one person in last 17 years in Dubai whose car got stolen. Serious respect to police and their coordination as hawx mentioned that they can't go far without getting caught, this only discourage the future incidents. Keep it up guys, in keeping city so safe that we almost forget to lock our cars.

Oops I also mis-read trailblazer as in topic he mentioned Tahoe and in post trailblazer. If you meant trailblazer then go with Rahim words as my wife has a trailblazer and there is no comparison between them and LC, it's a different league all together.

Toyota Land Cruiser - Awesome reliability, cheap maintenance, better resale Chevrolet Tahoe - New Tech and features, more safer, more powerful Now you pick and choose what you need or value more.

Thanks Rahim for this wonderful surprise as I myself have never visited this natural lake and heard a lot from hand full of people. People getting serious for regular off-roading please consider buying radio and inflator now at least as these two things are the first off-road gear you will need in every future off-road drive.

Wondering why 4 year old Range doesnt have warranty...? Is this Ali's car you meant? What is the odometer reading? Thanks for killing my hidden desire and love for Range rover - over and over again.

Thanks everyone for joining and making this drive a truly "unforgettable family get-together" with lot of adventures. Started little late due to rough weather and those who reached early enjoyed a second round of breakfast at meeting point. In all we had 10 cars from sports cars - 4x4's. Soon after we started few cars got deviated from the route due to bad visibility in windy weather and lack of coordination. Once we all join back we straight head to Kalba area from Maleiha road to enjoy the most scenic mountain view in the UAE. Due to lost time, we only managed to stop in one place through the mountain range and everyone clicked enough pictures for their social media profile and family portraits. Once we reached to Fujairah, to our our surprise whole corniche was closed due to some para games organized their from 18-24 Feb. We tried our luck for next Khorfakkan beach and we could find a sweet spot in grass and shade to settle all family and kids. By the time we reached khorfakkan, weather has changed completely for good and become very stable and pleasant (thank god). It was about 18-20 degrees with very slight drizzle (occasionally) along with nice and pleasant breeze. We settled down and opened our grand lunch buffet loaded with multi nationality specialty cuisine. Thanks everyone for bringing awesome finger licking food in such generous quantity for all. Next time for such Friday lunch, please skip the breakfast to save space for so many specialties. After a sumptuous lazy Friday lunch, it was an action time for all ages. Toddlers and younger kids have enough beach rides and sand toys to keep them occupied. Few decided to stay back and enjoy the chill time at beach and keep an eye on kids. We went straight to our much awaited adventure rides. Thankfully all activities in Fujairah beach and khorfakkan beach are same, so we haven't lost anything by change of place. First of all we decided to hit the Jet ski and though it was my first time, so I learned very well after my first fall off the jet ski with Govind. It was an amazing experience and I can easily co-relate this with off-roading as if you really wanna enjoy then go as fast as you can to glide above the bumpy waves. After that we aim for para sailing, again it was my first time in such adventure sport so I was ready for all surprises. By the time I reach on top I realize this isn't an adventure sport, it's a scenic ride. It was so slow, serene and calming to glide in a parachute above the sea and enjoy the beautiful mountain view is far from scary and thrilling. It was as similar as in flying in cesna in low altitude and enjoy the city view in Dubai. The only sad part about this ride was it lasted in less than 5 minutes and we landed much before we can actually capture anything. Last but not least almost everyone decided to go for a boat ride. More than the boat ride I personally enjoyed the real sport of negotiation with the boat guys as everyone offering different rates for per person and for full boat. So some of our expert negotiator's landed with different proposal and strategies to knock those boat guys down in a multi billion dollar deal, lol. Finally after 15-20 minutes of sporting session both parties came to an agreement and all of us went for a much awaited boat ride. As we reached half way, we realized that this boat trip was not for dropping all of us to the island but just to show the island and come back. Surprise.....! Anyways in the middle of Arabian Sea none of our expert negotiator's thought of challenging the boat guy and we quietly decided to come back to shore with a hope that next time we will visit that island. Overall it was one fully loaded road trip + family get-together + picnic + special lunch + endless adventures in super perfect weather on the beach. By 7:00 PM, we all started packing up our cars and ending up with a discussion for our next week location, which is already decided now and will be soon announced in trips section. It's a very special, unique and hidden "natural lake" in the desert. Hope to see everyone for this special surprise, as 90% of the people haven't visited this lake in UAE.

I wouldn't trust any third party agent for my car renewal unless they are govt owned or at least govt. certified. Do you know now since 2 years many passing centers are working 24 hours. I got one of my car renewed last year at 3 AM in al wasl vehicle testing center - https://goo.gl/maps/bdkhr2BRn2Q2

Well this is not seen by many of us in Dubai, for which I seriously respect Dubai Police and it's awesome law and order. Many years ago I forgot to lock my car overnight along with expensive laptop on backseat and both survived for 14+ hours.

Hope you all are ready and excited......! Just following up tomorrow's weather in Fujairah and it seems SUPER PERFECT so far, thank god. Temp: 21 degrees, Rain: 0.3 mm (just a drizzle by 3-6 PM), Wind: 8-6 knts (just a breeze), slightly overcast and cloudy.

Any trip coming up for Saturdays?
Gaurav replied to tamils_siva's topic in Meet up and Drives - Off-road / Scenic
Hi Siva, thanks for your suggestion. Just so as you know that we have recently started these drives here and so far received an overwhelming response from all the participants. We are still in a stage to build this drive section at carnity and need help from every car enthusiast's here and open for all feedback, suggestion and contributions. Let's see how many people roll in for Saturday trips here in this thread and will definitely plan something in near future once it has enough interest. Btw, people enrolling their interest here for Saturday's drive do list their vehicle (sedan / AWD / 4x4) and choice of drives (On-road / Wadi / Sand). -
Map of most googled car brand in each country
Gaurav replied to Allstar's topic in General Discussions
Totally agree on your thoughts. I used to be Japanese guy too, but recently tried mustang that changed my hear say impression of American car brands. Last year got Chevy trail blazer for my wife and she is totally enjoying it too. Thanks @Nuke for all the advises and experience sharing about the US cars. -
So that means you have been bad boy too with my Pajero. Hahahaha On a serious note, I can't thank you enough for fixing my 18 years old Pajero to the best perfection level that even Habtoor boys are scared to touch. Engine head work carried by you made a huge improvement that I can continue my long hill climb on some tallest dunes in uae. THANKS A LOT FOR GOOD WORK. ps. Sorry about your thumb 👍 though.
