  1. Hi Victoria, Seems very unlikely that your car engine on a Hyundai Tucson would go at 110K Kms. However, manufacturers and Showrooms nowadays give you warranty of 5 years or 100K Kms and once warranty is over you find that the car gives most headaches. If you are a true petrol head than you keep the car running for as long as you can and most cars if maintained on time will reduce the number of problems or delay the inevitable expenses. Carnity is the right platform to post your questions regarding any car troubles you are having and just wait for the expert responses to pour in. Please try to describe the problem you are having in details to best of your observation so that we can help you accordingly.
  2. I had a similar problem with my Nissan Pathfinder 2001 model driven 220K Kms, and the problem turned out to be the distributor, not the distributor cap, but the distributor itself. It used to start normal and than after a while it used to start jerking and no matter how much I push the accelerator the car would hardly move. If i reduce the accelerator it used to smooth out and drive OK at 40-60 KPH. I hope this is your problem and will be sorted out soon, maybe you need to get in touch with @Ak to use his OBD 2 to detect the problem for sure.
  3. Thanks for the post @Barry this is an amazing share and an amazing experience. There are only 2 car museums in UAE, one is Sharjah as Barry has posted and the other which is really worth a visit is the one that belongs to the Rainbow Sheikh on the way to Liwa. Although the Sharjah Car Museum is closer and contains classics. However the Car Museum on the way to Liwa is about 45 kilometres south of Abu Dhabi city, this ‘pyramid’ houses around 200 cars belonging to HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. There is a vast collection of off-road vehicles and classic American cars, the Sheikh's Mercedes rainbow collection and the world's largest truck. Some of the collection was featured in the BBC television programme Top Gear. This is a fascinating collection and a great place to stop on the way to or from Liwa. Opening times are 9am to 6pm seven days a week, but are subject to change.Entry fee: AED 50 (US$ 13.6), children under 10 enter for freeWhere: South of Abu Dhabi, Hamim Road, Off E11, Al GharbiaTelephone: +971 55 7492155Website: www.enam.ae
  4. Good post AK, however I'm confused, which hybrid are you running bro.
  5. @Barry Iam not going to bring in my car for any engine repairs till you have experimented this new technique on someone else vehicle.
  6. Very informative, thank you Barry for a very nice explanation and thanks to Ethan's curiosity we all got to learn something today.
  7. Thanks for sharing. Another annoying fact is people use hazard lights, which makes it difficult for the drivers around to know when you want to change lanes. Please avoid using hazard lights and use fog lights instead like Taqir pointed out.
  8. I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane, whenever this problem would start the Renault people would say they have cleaned the throttle body and than the problem would disappear for about a couple of years. My advise is to get the throttle body cleaned nicely and try. No harm and its not going to cost you much.
  9. @Ak You are too kind, but I will bother you whenever I need help. Thanks AK.
  10. Congrats AK, nice friend, lucky you. Might just want to be friends with your friends, I want such gifts too.

  17. I have a mechanic who has worked on al land Rovers only and knows them thoroughly inside out. his name is Aqil, you can call him on 055 899 0092. He is currently working until 5:30 pm in Sharjah, so he can tell you where to meet him is Sharjah and what time. He should be able to pin point where the vibration is coming from and can also source parts for you if necessary. Hope this helps.
  18. I agree with you Desertdude. For one the electric car s cost almost twice as much as a petrol/diesel engine vehicle of the same specs. Plus The cost to replace the battery once dead is huge, plus these batteries are dangerous and should be discarded in a certain way, the service center will charge to extra for discarding the battery which is also quite a high cost. They are trying to reinvent the wheel which is very costly and not headed in the same direction. Add to that the future of driverless vehicles and it scars the sh!t out of me.
  19. All great points of view, I really enjoyed this thread, but just like Ayman pointed out the need of a skid plate on the X-Terra, since it is an American make and the radiator is low, I would like to add the I have seen FJCs flip on perfectly flat surface. Seems FJC balance is the worst with stock suspensions and I would recommend to change the suspension, as I am told the Fox suspension si the best setup for the FJC.
