  1. Hi @Lawrence_Chehimi you have done 7 FB and 2FB+ level drives so far.
  2. @Thomas Varghese this is the common RSVP guidelines. I have added the following line to it now: Different RSVP levels can be used for specific drives as per the trip lead preference, area, timing, day or night drive, etc.. In other words, it is up to the drive lead to select his limited RSVP level. Especially during week drives with less support you will find the trip lead will reduce the RSVP.
  3. RSVP Limitation Every drive we organize has a limited RSVP signup: Absolute Newbie and Newbie Level Drives: 12 members, 1 drive lead, and supported by 1-2 senior members. Fewbie, Fewbie Plus, and Intermediate Drives: 10 members, 1 drive lead, and supported by 1-2 senior members. Different RSVP levels can be used for specific drives as per the trip lead preference, area, timing, day or night drive, etc.. RSVP etiquette and Closing Times Signing up for a drive means you take up a spot on the list, so if you cannot make it, please withdraw your RSVP in time (+ 24 hours prior to the drive), so others can take up that spot. The RSVP usually closes a day in advance of the drive, so the drive lead can prepare the convoy list. If the RSVP is full and you wish to join this drive, please mention your name on the drive thread with the request to be added to the waiting list. The Trip lead will keep a chronological overview of the waitlisted members. Members who have not RSVP'd for the event will not be accepted on the drive. Latecomers will not be accepted. There will be no exceptions. Repeated no-show members will have their account suspended for a month. Within the waitlist, preference will always be given to members who are waitlisting for their first drive of the weekend. Only when this list is exhausted, the trip lead will add members that waitlisted for their second drive.
  4. Two Way Radio Guidelines for Carnity Offroad Club Every Offroader brings his own radio, programmed to the frequencies described in below advice topic. We will not share spare radios or program your radio on the drive. If you need assistance in programming the radio, post a topic on the Carnity website with your questions and we will help you out. Make sure your radio is fully charged. It will be your only way of communication while driving. Before buying, please carefully read below advice so you are informed properly on which model / cost / shops... No radio = No drive. It is an essential tool and you should make sure you bring it on every drive and learn/practice how to use it. Programming advice and instructions can be found in below article:
  5. Totally ready for the next level :) See you soon in the sand !
  6. DRIVE REPORT Attendees @Desert Wrangler @aaron kamall @Ahmed Mostafa @Trent @Anish Varghese @Nafly Azhar @Ahmed Mostafa and @Nafly Azhar , both with the Pajeros, did very well on their first drive. These cars are great offroad vehicles, but a bit more difficult to learn the art of offroading compared with a Jeep Wrangler for example. Talking about Jeep Wranglers, @aaron kamall, @Desert Wrangler, @Anish Varghese brought theirs, and drove very well throughout the drive. And talking about tricky, @Trent brought a dune ship in the form of the mighty F150 but perfect throttle control and impressive skills, and a very capable co-pilot did the trick! Big thanks to @sertac for the help today. One of the members brought a Walkie Talkie that we tried to program, i think it was this one: Looks like you have to hold the MENU button and then turn on the unit to put it in Frequency mode. Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive. Drives are announced every Sunday at 11 am, and they go live on Sunday at 7:10 pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. If you miss a spot, put your name on the waitlist asap. Generally, by Thursday with dropouts everyone does get a spot if they have waitlisted. For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag and radio as a minimum. Learn to deflate your tires and checking them precisely Learn to fix a flag on your car Learn to program and fully charge your radio Also like I mentioned during the debriefing, join the Carnity Whatsapp Drive Notification to get the latest updates on the drives, so that you can RSVP on time for the next weekend's drive. Please have a look at below topic which describes the tools needed for every level. There is a separate tutorial inside which explains which radio we recommend and how to program them: (Please do not buy the Baofeng 888S spare radio we gave you, as these cannot be programmed without a special cable and software). Please have a look at below grading structure that explains various off-road levels: See you guys and gals soon in the sand again !
  7. RSVP will now be closed off. Attendees @Desert Wrangler @aaron kamall @Ahmed Mostafa @Trent @Monney Singh @Anish Varghese @Nafly Azhar Manage Frederic sertac See you guys tomorrow morning sharp 06:00AM at the meeting point. Please park the cars at some distance from each other and wear your mask at all times when you are out of the car during deflation or inflation. @sertac and myself will be guiding you throughout the drive and we will definitely have fun and learn ! If you have off-road equipment please bring it along. We will be providing a spare radio to the members that do not have one yet, from the second drive onwards you’ll need to procure a radio, flag, shovel, and pressure gauge as basic tools. In case of emergency my mobile no. Is 056 504 26 32. PS radio channel will be 446.00625 MHz (Carnity channel 1).
  8. have you tried gently blowing some compressed air into it ?
  9. Good morning @Trent and welcome as well ! With regards to the radio, you can have a look at below article. I think the basic motorola set you are referring too is a Motorola TLKR model which has the PMR446 frequency range. These will work for the 4 channels we use in Carnity, but not for all. You are welcome to bring the radio coming Friday so i can have a look at it. In general we recommend the following models, as they have the option to enter any frequency: 1) Motorola or Crony MT777 2) Baofeng UV5R You will find the programming instructions in the below article as well:
  10. Good morning @Desert Wrangler@Ahmed Mostafa @aaron kamalland welcome to Carnity Offroad Club ! I am looking forward to meeting you all coming Friday morning. In the meantime please send a small introduction here below with the following: 1) Which 4x4 are you driving ? 2) Do you have any prior offroading experience ? If so please indicate where and what.. 3) Is your 4x4 equipped with front and rear towpoints ? This is a necessity and they should be in perfect condition. For your first offroad drive it's sufficient to bring a pressure gauge and tire deflator so you can deflate your tires before heading into the sand. If you have more offroad tools please also bring them along. A compressor to inflate your tyres will also be necessary as we are exiting near a petrol station that has no compressor. Please watch the below Absolute Newbie briefing video below as this contains all the essential information to prepare yourself for your first offroad drive: MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING When it comes to tools, we have the following article: Please use this topic to raise your questions, doubts, queries. We are here to help !
  11. @Niki Patel that's a nice setup you have made. Well done ! To identify sand in your engine, i do not think you will be able to measure this. The ECU is programmed in such a way that it will trigger the ENGINE CHECK light as soon as the MAF readings are deviating too much from the expected results, which would indicate a defective MAF sensor. In the case your air intake hose has a crack where sand could enter, i do not think you will see this in the MAF sensor measurements. It would be more useful to ask your mechanic to inspect the flexible rubber hose whenever the air filter is being replaced. A crack will occur more often on a poorly installed or universal aftermarket airfilter (Cold air intake) setup, and also on cars that are more than 10 years old where the original rubber is dried up and started to crack/deteriorate.
