It's not shitty, mine is very similar too to give 320 in mix. Might get 350 in highway.

Try Redex fuel additive to bump up as that's a very good fuel system cleaner and only genuine product I found that decreases fuel consumption. Sadly not available in UAE. You can try from Canada and bring it along.

I guess it's just my right foot then! Anyways while I'm out of the country the car has gone for some serious power updates. Maybe will help me keep my foot out of if (I doubt) lol. Thanks with the Redex, I'll see if I can source some :D

What is your on road fuel mileage?

Fuel Consumption in offroad is totally dependent on how much you push your car.

I have swb, with 60 liter tank and crossed liwa few times with additional 20 litre Jerry can.

For saving fuel in offroad, we generally advise everyone to switch to 2WD on flat track. Liwa is no different as it has few kms of patches of barren land where you can cover lot of distance in 2WD.

Also if you are passing through moreeb do check adnoc fuel tanker as a temporary gas station, usually available in winter months little before and after Liwa challenge.

    Hey Gaurav,

The 60 liters gives me 325-330 Highway and Approx 280 City/Hwy Mix. It's shitty

  3. Hey Guys,

During advanced and fast trips of Around 35-40kms I end up going through 40 litres of fuel approx. are there any other Pajero owners who have faced this issue? My main concern is that in a full on 180km trip in Liwa or so I won’t have enough fuel even if I carry a 20 litre tank being a SWB Pajero having 60 litre tank. I am normally in 2nd and 1st gear in 4H...

    Cheers,

    Jas

  4. Firstly Fuad, Congrats on this little beast!

R50 is a great choice! Parts are super cheap and the car flies...

You need 2 things first, a lift kit and bash plate. With these two you'll tackle Liwa on its own no issues!

Secondly if you really want to spend some cash you're super lucky because you share the engine and transmission with the 350Z which has a huge performance market here in the UAE, you can find 4.2 stroker kits and have it installed for less than 10K (which is an actual joke to be honest). As long as this is a desert toy, do whatever you want and it won't let you down.

Lastly, if you don't want to go bat shit crazy... Just get some headers, exhaust and a cold air intake (with a dry filter) (should cost less than 5K all. And take the car to Qasim (AlfaTuner), he is very well respected within the UAE offroad community and has tuned almost every 4x4 I drive with (should be 1-1.5K) you'll be pushing 280HP no problems!

Half Lucky still good! When I increase power, I won’t feel the need to push the car as hard trying to accelerate.

Same way like the Range Rover, I too have a RRSC, that gives me 500Km on 70 liter tank and Pajero 300 on 60 liter. RR has 5.0 but becuase of less throttle to get you at speed you save fuel

Yes, It's same 6G74 DOHC 3.5 Engine that comes in Pajero EVO BUT BUT BUT without Mivec head that could make this stock engine from 225 HP to 260 HP. So Im half lucky, as I can't register Pajero EVO here in UAE (right hand).

Who is putting this crappiest idea in your mind....? I'm seriously curious to know.

Rebore, 3.8 to 4.1 for fuel economy.....? It's going to suck more fuel buddy.

The 3.0 6G72 SOHC engine which i have in mine is not the same as Gaurav his 3.5 Mivec DOHC beast, which is super rare.

Id love to add some horses to my ride too and that was on my bucketlist, but after a head gasket blowout, followed by a complete rebuild I’ve tucked away those plans and decided to spend my time in getting the best out of the car by driving smart and taking peace with what i have. An underpowered car can be a blessing sometimes, and once you’ll see what @Rahimdad does with his 3.3, And @shadow79 with his RAV4 you will be amazed 😉

@Gaurav you have the Pajero EVO ENGINE?!?!?!? You're one lucky guy :D

I love the Pathy's! They are amazing because of the gearing in them, 3 Speed. All the car's will perform with skill. My main reason for the power is honestly just on road driving, the acceleration is pretty crappy so in the city after signals I have to give quite a bit of raise to get to 80, which in turn kills my fuel economy.

@Jas Gajaria its not the simple to gain 30-40 hp and in UAE mods are also something that can cause problem during passing, so be very careful at what you are planning and discuss here before you invest in anything. Secondly, it is not about the 30-40 extra hp, its about how the car delivers it to you and your advantage. Thirdly, always try and work on your skills with a lower end car than trying to mod it and make it more powerful. I see you have signed up for the drive tomorrow morning, hoping to see you and catching up more on this topic to try and understand why you need the extra hp.

    I'll see you Tomorrow!

Keep us posted on what the plans are and how you’re planning to gain 30-40hp.

When the Project starts ill keep a thread on the group with its progress! I know for a fact that the 3.0 which is in yours and Gaurav's have heads straight from an EVO 7-8, so just a port and polish you'll easily make 15-20 HP. I will be reboring the engine, 3.8L-->4.1L, along with this I'll be changing the Pistons and making the Crankshaft Lighter (Higher Revs). This said After the addition of Headers, Exhaust, Cold Air Intake and a Unichip Tune I should be able to get the Engine HP from 215 (Stock) to approx 245-260.

  12. Thanks Guys!

All of the valid points were already considered, but now that I think of it having THAT much power will only make the types spin like crazy in the sand. Which defeats its purpose. I am going the alternate route and just building up the current engine to get 30-40 HP more. Should be plenty :D

    Cheers,

    Jas

Last I research a few years back and stall this idea after knowing that Unichip does a lot of magic with other cars, but not with Pajero as it interferes a lot and lot of complication may arise.

With the change in time, they might be supporting Pajero now, so have you checked with Unichip official site if they are offering any Pajero specific Unichip.....?

I'll check it out more then, I know a few guys in Oman who have made their Gen 3 Pajero's into complete beasts and all recommended me the Unichip. Thanks, Gaurav!

If I get it done I'll make sure I try to gather all the details so if anybody else here wants to they can!

    Cheers,

Hey guys, My name is Romit and I'm a student in 11th grade. My friend and I are looking into building something fun this summer as a project and we decided on building a stanced trike (see pictures). We've got just about everything we need and we're trying to keep this low budget (which is why we didn't use a pitbike motor or an electric motor for it) and we're looking for a place we can find a pair of matching rims and tires. The rims should be in a moderate and usable condition and the tires can be bald for all we care. If anyone knows a place we can get this or even a junkyard that we could look into that'd be great.

    Thanks

    Yooooo this looks sick!

    Rims:

Rim you'll find a variety of the steelies (2nd pic) and in the first pic, the style of rims are called "deep dish".  The steelies shouldn't be too expensive , your best bet would be to go to Sharjah/Ajman/Mussafah - Abu Dhabi for the cheapest (Just google Sharjah Rims) there will be a ton. The deep dish rims will be a bit more expensive as they have a high demand here (for all the patrols and LC's). ** Make sure whatever Rims you buy the Wheel Hub Assembly (Bolt Pattern Matches) also known as PCD. I don't know about scrap yards as I haven't ever purchased from them.

    Tyres:

These i'm sure you'll get for cheap just go around looking for expired DOT tyres (2015 and before) each peice shouldn't be more than 50 - 60 bucks. Hope this helps!

Make sure you get some speakers and BLAST Tokyo Drift while you ride it 😂 #stancenation

    Cheers,

    Jas
