Gaurav
BMW 7 series is a money pit and don't even think of buying unless you have deep pockets or some special affinity for BMW badge or 7 series. Let's root for each other & watch each other grow.
Frederic
Anything Japanese with some decent maintenance history would do imho. Although i love that 7 series but you need to buy that car as a hobby-car to fix up if you have the available budget and pockets. Even some Kia or Hyundai might do the trick. I've seen plenty with high mileage that run effortlessly. Edited June 21, 2018 by Frederic Nuyttens 1 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further." shadow79
5k is good money if hooked at the right place there are many cars you can get for that price first being the knuckle head camry from 98 to 2001 https://tnydu.biz/DOwCTt its a strong car have one running with us for more then a decade..its a iron block engine does not die easily. parts are very easy to get... https://tnydu.biz/DOwBxX then there is a dodge durango from 98 to 04 is a 8 cyl elephant has a hami engine is sure a strong sturdy car one of my customers has one of these cars he sold it and the next one sold it to another all along with my shop address for service and arranging its parts too had to run around a bit until i found a guy shj who would stock these cars https://tnydu.biz/DOvyDs then you can get beetle above 2k model the interior in this car is just ready to break if you touch it like the glove box center console and the door panels those are bit hard to find specially of matching colors hell who cares you said it just has to move from a to b and i guess it fits the criteria nicely other than that the mechanical section parts are available and 1 thing is crazy in this car the driver side window regulator is expensive than the passenger side one go figure... you also can get your hands on corolla 93 to 2001 at his range or less and those car run great with great mileage and parts are available almost everywhere you can also get nissan sunny 95 to 2005 for this range and up to 2k they are very strong cars after that its just a money pit you can also get altima 03 to 06 or 07 but those cars are also unreliable easily shot and also the interior problems with them sucks big time then there is the mitsubishi magna and galant which are just always waiting for parts but the lancer is a different story its a good car has good mileage no use flooring it as it is not a sporty jock as compared to others in this range class but will just run nicely...parts are pretty strong and they last guess that should be enough for now Edited June 21, 2018 by shadow79 more info

Gaurav
My colleague bought early 2000 model BMW 745 last year for 13k and in less than a year, he spent 17k on top. Budget do mean cheap to buy and run. https://tnydu.biz/DOwCny https://tnydu.biz/DOwCHu https://tnydu.biz/DOwCi2 Let's root for each other & watch each other grow. desertdude
That part I agree with"Bmw engineering" is highly overrated as me myself and sorta suffering with it myself. Mercedes on the other hand anything pre 2000 is pretty much solid, specially if you can get your hand on a early 90s 190E That thing is built like a tank and will outlast any jap crap. Another buddy has a 97 E320 and S320 both over 300,000kms and has them from new and they look and drive just like new.
