Islam Soliman
What is Yellow Truck ? Buried deep inside the Bu Hasa Desert near Madinat Zayed City, there is an abandoned water tanker truck, which due to its remote location, has become a pilgrimage for many Offroaders all over the UAE. How did it get there ? That remains part of the mystery..... What's the location ? You will have to join the drive to find it.... And why exactly should we go there as a club ? This area, together with LIWA Moreeb area, is the ultimate playground for offroading, where you will find monstrous dunes, stadium-sized bowls, and the sheer size and remoteness will make you really feel you are in a different world ! This will be an unforgettable experience and will make you become part of our yearly pilgrimage team ! When?? When ?? WHEN ?? Important checklist for all members signed up on this drive. please read thoroughly and acknowledge. 1. Please ensure that you are there at the meeting point on 7:30 AM sharp. Late comers would be sent back. 2. Firstly, get lots and lots of rest the previous day. The more the better as Liwa will not only challenge your vehicle but your mind as well. We would need your complete focus and fatigue due to less rest is the last thing that is needed on such a terrain. For those who prefer camping the previous night, you can do so at the starting point as its a nice spaced out area. Bring some firewood incase if you wish to have a bonfire to keep you warm. Cleaning up after the bonfire is mandatory. 3. Ensure that your 4x4 is well serviced recently and all the lubes and fluids are topped up. 4. 20 Liter / 40 litre fuel jerry can is needed depending on your vehicle. If you have any doubts, please post your query on the drive post and we will assist. 5. A full fuel tank at the meeting point. 6. Spare tyre should be in good working condition. If not been used recently, ensure that you take it out and check the condition properly. Also ensure that you have the wrench that can be used to remove your tyre (if needed). In the past we have seen that people upgrade their tyres but still keep the the original wrench which is of no use to remove the upgraded tyre. So please ensure that your car has the right tool to remove the tyres (if needed). 7. Air compressor, proper shovel, flag, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, 8. Fully charged radio (tuned to all Carnity Frequencies) with spare battery / radio. If you have a car charger for your radio, please bring it along. 9. Please ensure that you know how to switch off traction control (turning off Air bags is not mandatory for this drive). If it requires pulling the fuse, please research before the drive or better still, post your queries on this drive post and we would assist. 10. Car charger / battery pack for your mobile. 11. Plenty of water, approx 5 litre per person per day. 12. Bring along your breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc in easy to eat packing. We shall be having breaks in between the drive. 13. Dry food, energy bar, cookies, nuts, crisp to munch while driving 14. Bring garbage bags along to carry your trash. Littering in the desert is strictly prohibited. 2 2

Davie Chase
@Islam Soliman (Hope you made your flight) thank you for a great drive yesterday that had everything in it as usual :), my first time to YT was indeed a memorable one. I do not remember in my 50+ drives having a drive with that amount of soft sand throughout, so it was a fantastic experience with a lot of learnings. Also never had a recovery where we used nearly every rope and a winch (I believe we had one rope left and that was only because Charlie had two lol). That recovery was a true display of Carnity teamwork at its best, where all 7 members of the convoy participated to make it happen. Moreover, that was a real work out, my legs were burning by the time I reached the top and I really was not sure I would make it. The other team members were just as exhausted as it was a truly grueling recovery from a stamina standpoint, but as always, we got through it with smiles and enthusiasm to obtain a safe recovery with a bunch of learning opportunities along the way. @Zixuan Huang - Charlie fantastic second lead and support for the drive as always. @Ranjan Das @Karthikeyan Govindarajan @Ashutosh Garg @Zulfikhar Naiyar you guys all drove exceptionally well and worked together the best I have seen and supported each other superbly. That recovery, to get it done safely, required teamwork, coordination and above all flawless communicating, we had all three in abundance, well done to one and all. I have posted some pics in the Gallery. I have a great rest of your weekend and hope to see you all in the sand again very soon. 2 1
Popular Post Islam Soliman
Very well said @Davie Chase.. it was a fantastic day very well spent.. total driving of around 18 hours and covering around 700km with 150 on these amazing dunes. Prompt alerted 2nd lead of @Zixuan Huang - Charlie and having @Ranjan Das and you @Davie Chase at the back made me quite comfortable in executing the plan and pushing the limits four a normal F+ drive level on both speed and climbs. The great skills on the drive also helped me go even more bold specially on the last hour run to YT and all the way back to the gravel track thanks to @Zulfikhar Naiyar @Ashutosh Garg and @Karthikeyan Govindarajan. Despite of some moments of stress and heavy exercises specially with the horrendous 80m climb on that extremely soft bowl to anchor @Zulfikhar Naiyar’s stuck car on the center of the bowl .. outstanding team effort and safe recovery with no pain other the terrible burning muscles 🤪. The scenery with these red sand beautifully mixed with black stone formations here and there and clouds casting dark shadows on the gigantic dunes was a sight to be always remembered. I enjoyed every minute, the drive, the dunes, the recoveries, the lunch by the Yellow Truck and @Ashutosh Garg nice mini kitchen setup for freshly made coffee enjoying beautiful breeze and charging our energy to the second part to the exit, and above all your great company! thanks for making this day a memorable one and looking forward for a Back2LIWA drive soon InshaALLAH 2 1
