Drive Details

Level:  Newbie and above

Date/Day: Saturday 20 July 2024

Meeting time: 05:00 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions)

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water & snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Mandatory off-road gears: Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit, Tow Rope, 2 Shackles and fire extinguisher.

Note: Please ensure that all of your off-road gear is securely tied down with ratchet straps in the rear compartment of the vehicle. Bungy type tie downs are not suitable for tying down off-road gear.

Approximate finish time: 09:00 AM

P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

• This drive is limited to 12 cars only. RSVP will close on Friday - 1 PM.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Dear @J-P L @GS periwal @Ammar Naji @Marek @essam ibrahim , pls go through the below in prep for tomorrow’s drive:

 

• Be ready at the meeting point by 5:00am (or before) with tires deflated (Front 13psi Rear 12psi) and flag erected
• Please ensure your programable radio is on, fully charged and set to Channel 4 (446,081)
• Briefing will be done on the sand before we start moving. 
• Please ensure everything in the car is tied down and there are no moving objects 
• Please check all car fluids, tow hooks, and ensure no hanging parts below the chassis.
• please ensure you come with a full tank (as much as possible) in addition to all necessary gear for this drive level specially your tire deflator, pressure gauge and a compressor, safety flag and radio. (NO FLAG or RADIO = NO DRIVE)

last minute flag pole installation... new rig ready to (s)weep

boy, it was hot... and humid. Despite the early start.

Not a lot of driving, but how about these recoveries! 2 hours of moving, 1h 38m being stuck and trying to get out.

Super happy with the new rig! A-trac and how it digs itself out is just next level for me... humble Pajero driver  

Luckily by end of this week I'll have some more upgrades and new suspension, so will join you guys on some more advanced tracks!

Marek, i am glad you got to do some recovery work, otherwise it would have been boring for you, and you got to use your ropes instead of just sitting in the car!
