Abhilash Kottakkal
@Ale Vallecchi thank you very much for accepting...let me try with you all to achieve this feet.. I think I have tried that once with Hisham and we climb down because of many inexperienced people in the group including me.

Ale Vallecchi
Dear Desertnauts a very quick briefing before this Sunday PM drive. The mission is clear, as stated in the drive's description: to beat the previous record of cumulative climbing in the Badayer/Area 53 area. That is climbing a total of 2,272 meters, to pass the previous record by at least 1 meter. Therefore, we'll move from star dune to star dune, with the goal of reaching each formation between Badayer's shops and the planned exit at Ericsson Tower in Al Madam, and climb every slope from bottom to top, with multiple side slopes (and some occasional criss-crossing. The convoy at the moment is the following: @Andrew John Melvill in Second Lead @Abhilash Kottakkal at #3 @Cha at Center @RiadJL at #5 @Jon L at #6 and @Mahmoud Taha in Sweep. The meeting point has been posted at Badayer's Shops, past the Quad rentals' area. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday PM. Enjoy the end of the week. 3

RiadJL
Great drive today. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi. Too bad we couldn't beat the record but I'll be very happy to try again some time Overall it was a really well paced drive with a few refusals along the way and one pop out. Amazing support from @Chaamd his tools to help us get moving promptly everytime. Toward the end after sunset visibility was quite bad and we had a tough time getting out but once again impressed by Ale's skills getting us out despite not being able to see very well Good to see you again @Andrew John Melvill. You had a bit of a tough go at it today with the tire pressure and the pop out but stellar driving and SL for you. Looking forward to seeing you in the beast again after you've had your new toys installed Nice driving @Mahmoud Taha. Your impressive lighting sure came in handy today Hope everyone has a good week ahead and hope to see you soon 1
Andrew John Melvill
Thanks @Ale Vallecchi, for a fantastic and at times quite tough drive. All in one of the very best I have been on despite and maybe because of some of the issues I had. Do not think I have learnt so much from a single drive since Newbie stage! Did a lot of reflection on the way home. To @Cha, @Mahmoud Taha & @RiadJL along with @Ale Vallecchi of course, thanks for the amazing teamwork on the drive, especially during the last hour when we had issues reaching an exit. It was a really good growth experience and will not be forgotten in a hurry. Edited September 9, 2024 by Andrew John Melvill 2
