Before moving to the Middle East, and knowing absolutely nothing about off-roading, i grew up watching Camel Trophy, Dakar, and later the fantastic Top Gear adventures. Rally was also one of my favorites.

So my dream adventure? taking part in off-road endurance race, and ideally having my two partners in crime @Gaurav and @Srikumar joining me, so we will have lots of laughs, breakdowns, and goofing off while we are at it :)

Somewhere in Africa, South America, or perhaps Saudi Arabia!

For me a drive home to Cape Town from Dubai, I spend hours looking at potential routes. Follow changes in the politics and war status in various counties I would need to drive through. Have my Cape Town waypoint set as Home on my Garmin. So in reality just the button and go.

Or anything that Itchy Boots does on her you tube channel, have been following her adventures for years.

The dream would be something like the Long Way series on Apple+ with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman (https://www.longway.tv/). Yeah, I know that's on bikes, but the idea is the same.

We have done a few longer trips on my Harley in USA: US North-East, the full US East Coast, Blue Ridge; and even more in Europe: full Atlantic Coast, Adriatic Coast, Eastern Europe, Middle Europe. However, now that the Missus is not that charmed sitting on the back of a motorbike for the  larger part of the day anymore, doing this with the comfort of a car should be a great substitute! Now all I need is to convince her of the same!

So instead of heading out for more than a couple of weeks on our bike, something a bit further than just off-grid and a bit longer with a car would be amazing.

For now, I'll make do with weekend/day trips over here in the desert and the weeks in the summer on the bike (for a few hours in the morning and afternoon) and hope she'll catch the bug, so we can set sail for an adventure.

Oh and win the jack-pot, to finance it all!

Another interesting topic @Mike M.

Having done decent amount of driving in India, majorly all in himalayan mountain ranges, solo, with friends, at times family too, I would one day for sure would do a drive that covers India's perimeter:)  From my research, or call it ongoing preparation, would be close to 13-14k KMS, ( close to what @Andrew John Melvill would cover for his Dubai-Capetown drive) ( AJM - Lets use channel 2😂) and a decent 2 months drive, not a rush up one:)IMG_1644.jpeg.b3ebe4b6d85e7688b0d1ad6aa5407f08.jpeg

Once done, should look like close to what the image shows 🤞

What car would you be using for this off-road endurance race @Frederic @Gaurav @Srikumar. Would be nice to see the preferred car from each of you guys :)

This sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime expedition journey @Andrew John Melvill! A convoy of 4-5 cars would be nice to complete this. How to come back is the question? Ship the cars back or drive back ? :)

When we were still in Canada my dream adventure was to tour North America in an RV when the kids are older. Having gone into offroading now, i think the RV life is for the senior citizens or the pampered ones. I am in the same boat as you @Myrko, let me know when that bug bites the missus cause i need to catch it and release it next to my wife as well :D

Do you have this route planned from before or did you do it impromptu ? Before doing this, how about Oman Salala first if not this year maybe next year as everyone have their plans done already for this year.

Hi @Mike M.!

My dreamcar for this adventure would either a Y61 pickup, Toyota 79 Series, or a good old Hilux. If we really want to be under the car every day, then the LR Defender would be the best 😁
