Fewbie Plus Desert Drive - DARE DEVIL GUYS - Al Salamat (Al Ain) Abu Dhabi - 25 May 2025

DRIVE DESCRIPTION

Why is the drive titled with "Dare" - Yellow truck is usually a drive done in winters, and hence this attempt, at the start of summers, is titled Dare.  MUST read below sign-up checklist below before you RSVP for this drive. 

SIGNUP CHECKLIST

1. MINUMUM 2FB+ Drives in last 2 months 
2. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CAR IS IN GOOD RUNNING CONDITION. Your car should have been serviced recently, and all the lubes and fluids are topped up. Repairs inside the desert are going to be a difficult endeavor and are despised.
3. A full fuel tank at the meeting point and extra fuel of 20L in a jerry can would be needed. FOR SWB, 2 cans would be better.
4. The spare tire should be in good working condition. If not been used recently, ensure that you take it out and check the condition properly. Please ensure that your car has the right tools to remove the tires (if needed).
5. Fully charged radio (tuned to all Carnity Frequencies) with spare battery/radio. If you have a car charger for your radio, please bring it along. 
6. The drive will last approximately 6 hours and will be for upwards of 120 km in the desert. 
7. Get lots and lots of rest the previous day. Liwa will not only challenge your vehicle but your mind as well. For those who prefer camping the previous night, you can do so at the starting point as it's a nice, spaced-out area. Bring some firewood incase if you wish to have a bonfire to keep you warm. Cleaning up after the bonfire is mandatory.
8. Plenty of water, approx. 5 liters per person. Bring along your breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc., in easy-to-eat packaging. We shall be having breaks during the drive. Dry food, energy bar, cookies, nuts, crisp to munch on while driving

Please take this event seriously and understand that this terrain, due to its remoteness and the size of the dunes, will challenge everyone on this drive. If you decide to bring passengers, please make sure they have spent a full day already in a vehicle in the desert and are used to it. There are hardly any nearby exit tracks, and rerouting might take hours, so once we are in this terrain, the aim is to complete the entire drive and visit the Yellow Truck

Level:  Fewbie Plus and above  (Minimum 2 FB+ drives in last 2 months)

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, a face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.

Approximate finish time: 4 pm

Mandatory off-road gear: Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, Rope, 2 Shackles, first-aid kit, and fire extinguisher.

P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE:

• This drive is limited to 5 cars only.  
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Can you please revisit your plans, keeping in mind personal commitments and vehicle condition. and update RSVP if any changes to your confirmation , since we have 2 more gentlemen in Waitlist. ( @Shahid Mehmood @Beide Worku) 

Considering the terrain, and planned drive, I would like to keep it a short convoy and with confirmed members its already 7.

A no-show would really be disappointing, unless last minute valid reasons .

I wanted to ensure everything was okay, so I took it for a quick spin this morning. Just as I entered Qudra, I had a nasty stuck, As the car went into 2WD , warranting shoveling for a decent amount of time. .

Even while driving back home on the road in 2WD, I noticed multiple warning indicators. The earliest appointment I could get is on Sunday morning.

The only positive I can see is - For a drive like this, its better I had these indicators before we entered the desert on Sunday. 

Please considere this drive as technically not cancelled but just postponed .

definately better to have it happen in qudra than in the deep desert!

A most likely Good news on its way - @Asif Hussain bhai has is planning to take this convoy for Al Salamat, Al Ain.  So you will hear from him here shortly . Fasten your seat belts and fasten evetything in car😁🤞!
