Morning Fewbie Desert Drive - Lisali to Qudra Secret Dunes - Dubai - 17 Jan 2026

We begin our adventure in Lisali, a quiet desert community. Heading southwest, we traverse the fast-flowing tracks and gentle dunes that gradually increase in size and complexity. As we progress, the terrain becomes more technical, with sharper slip faces and tighter dune formations. Continuing onward, we navigate through a series of ridge lines and cross-dune sections before navigating to a sabkha or two to take us towards our prized destination. Approaching the final stretch, we enter the Qudra Secret Dunes area, known for its golden sand, playful terrain, and scenic beauty. This marks the end of our drive, where we gather to reinflate and share some storis of our drive. 😄

DRIVE DETAILS

Level:  Fewbie and above

Meeting time: 7:00 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions)

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Mandatory off-road gears: Fewbie and above, Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, Intermediate and above, Kinetic Tow Rope and 2 soft Shackles.

Note: Please ensure that all of your off-road gear is securely tied down with ratchet straps in the rear compartment of the vehicle. Bungy type tie downs are not suitable for tying down off-road gear.

Approximate finish time: 11:00 AM

P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

• This drive is limited to 10 cars only. RSVP will close on Thursday - 12:00 pm.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Good morning everyone. 

Thank you all for your interest in this drive. There are 7 on the waitlist and I kindly ask that you remove yourself now if your plans have changed and you cannot join this drive thereby allowing someone on the waitlist to be able to join this popular drive.

I am also checking to see if another lead is available to lead a second convoy; however, one hasn't yet come forward. I'll keep you posted if and when one has come forward.

Hello @Jabir, this is a Fewbie level drive and as such I will be removing you from this drive waitlist. Please look into the three Newbie drives this weekend - one on Saturday afternoon and two on Sunday. Hope you have fun on whatever drive you sign up for.

I would like to clarify my situation regarding this drive. Since I’m staying in Sharjah (Ajman border) the drive to AD is quite long for me. My priority is Dubai drive. 
 

I joined AD drive as I didn’t want to miss out entirely. 
 

I was first on the waitlist but couldn’t make it because I think since I have joined AD drive I was not prioritized. I saw it later. 
 

Feel free to remove my name, I will go ahead with Mark.

Please ensure you leave about +2 PSI more air in your tires than you normally have for our desert drives due to the continued wetness of sand conditions recently. We can always easily deflate a bit more after we get started and as needed during the drive. This will help prevent any pop-outs.
