Every offroader who is part of Carnity Offroad Club needs to follow the Offroad club grading structure explaining the number of drives and criteria required to attain certain offroad rank. Once you qualify the number of drives attended and criteria fulfilled, please notify @Rahimdad OR @Gaurav OR @Asif Hussain OR @Srikumar OR @Emmanuel for requesting your rank upgrade in person or PM or on the forum. Offroaders who have other club experience are requested to inform any of the above senior members and explain the drive experience you hold so that we can assign you the appropriate rank as per your overall offroad experience.

Based on your 10 drive overall offroad experience, you are good to join this Sweihan fewbie level drive. Once we observe your drive in Sweihan we will promote you to the fewbie rank afterwards

@Gaurav off course not, if it was like that was perfect, each battery will work for me around one and a half years on average even more

@Javier M you do get Optima here too and they outperform very well in UAE, just at double or close to the triple price of Amaron / Varta @hossein you used single solite for 6-7 years....? As it never lasted more than 13-14 months in my case of Pajero and wifey Trailblazer

@amir.rophail and @Djamelus Sweihan is a fewbie level drive, means you should be having at least 5 drive experience to attend. If you already have 5 or more drive experience with Carnity or elsewhere, please explain here.

Second vote for KYB. I’ve been using them for 20 years and I give preference to them over manufacturer branded shocks. Unless we’re going into more expensive stuff, then I would recommend Koni Gas Adjustables, totally pointless for every day driving though. KYB is same quality as dealer but better price. Kayaba is a well established brand who know what they are doing. If you’re driving on tarmac, go for the KYB Gas filled shocks. Little bit more expensive (not much) than oil filled, but the ride is so much better. The only downside is that gas shocks wear out a little bit faster than oil filled shocks but we’re not talking about much. 60-70k for gas shocks versus 70-80k for oil filled so in the grand scheme of things for long term use, it’s nothing. A few extra dirhams for your comfort every day is totally worth it. Also, change the top mounts if you are changing the shocks. It costs money but it isn’t too expensive. If you have to pay for a second set of labour, 10, 15, 20k down the line, it will cost more.

Dear Carnity Team, Greetings! Hope all is well. I am looking for changing my current Driver's seat on my vehicle (Nissan Patrol Safari 2005). I presently have the old design, with the 2 manual knobs for adjusting the lumbar & hip support settings. This is starting to get quite uncomfortable on daily commutes & weekly long drives If I wanted to change the Driver's seat only, to an electronic one with all the creature comforts , would this be compatible with my vehicle? Plus any cost reference if you have, please. (PS: I've already trawled the Sajaa shops for a second hand Super Safari seat, but to no avail.)

since 6-7 years I using Solite on my Pajero and I'm so happy with the quality

Any of you tried Optima? specifically Yellow top. Back home Optima is my go-to battery but I don't know how it will behave in the UAE's weather conditions specially while offroading in the summer.

Trip report: Wonderful day, great weather and amazing people made this drive the perfect outing. I must start by thanking everybody for being on time. Started from the Adnoc pump on time and reached the deflation point. Everybody was patient during the briefing and had a good ideas and questions to understand the ettiquettes, safety aspect and basics of driving in the sand. My sincere thanks to @Gaurav bhai for making it just before the start of the drive even after facing gear issues. He also took on the sweep duties to keep the convoy moving. I would also like to thank @Emmanuel for being the busiest person on the day with most responsibilities. A very big thank you to @Javier M for being my second lead and keeping the convoy safe at all times. A big thank you to @Jamy B. and her Scottish friend (sorry I forgot her name), hope you got the police report. @Chirag S. hope all clear with the police report, you drove well but still need to understand how your car reacts in the sand. Thanks to @yogic72, @WiLfY, @BilalAhmad, @Brette, @Djamelus, @Sajith Kumar, @SandySandeep, @Julien V and Ben and his family joining us for the trip. As usual we started off on some tracks and eventually build the level to give a feel of the dunes and how best to manage them with small dunes, straight up and down. Some descends were a bit steep but everybody managed well. We made it to the gauge track on time for Ben and his family to depart as they had to catch a flight at 10 pm. @Julien V later checked with the family when they had already boarded their plane, perfect timing. We later headed to the top of Fossil Rock which everybody managed well. By this time the sun was setting and it was getting cold. There was a huge temptation to go down on Fossil Rocks, but with the stars not properly aligned we decided to drive around it to our spot. We sat down and with all in high spirits we laid our goodies down. From karak tea to some salty treats and some sweet ones I enjoyed them all. More amazing than the treats were stories as we all had our chance to give feedback and exchange stories. With everybody having their fill for the weekend it was time to pack up and head out. Thanks to all for using garbage bags and keeping the environment clean. It was a great to see only our tire and foot prints without garbage flying around. As we packed our cars and headed out we found a nice easy track with lead us straight to the closest road. After a quick stop to switch off our off road lights and remove the flags we were off to the Adnoc pump. We inflated here, said our goid byes and continued on our way home. I saw @Jamy B. on the way back and wanted to ask them if the police report was sorted out, but have to appreciate the fact that they are very arlttentive to the road and do not get distracted by anything.
