Hi, it's good to know that you have some experience of off-road driving. However, if it's your first drive with Carnity, for your own safety, it's advised to join the Newbie driving for the proper briefing. After or during the first drive you can share your experience with the senior members and you would be promoted faster through the ranks. We have had a few guys who got promoted to Fewbie level after the first drive. Promotions thereafter depend on your driving level, tools and gear that you have, etc.

I have few friends who have used Total Chaos and swear by it, it's really a rally grade stuff. You can get them from Mebar auto or TORC, both are in al quoz.

Huge huge beast with massive lift on the biggest tyres you have ever seen, you need a helicopter just to get in the door. Comes complete with flamethrowers Tomahawk Jeep, some of you have seen this, WW2 aeroplane themed JK. The one with the machine guns on the bonnet. Built with original parts from a B52 bomber. Independent 4 wheel steering rock crawling beast. 1975 GCC spec FJ Land Cruiser. Fully restored and is in as new condition. Total time warp machine and very interesting to drive. Ive heard there is a decent sized crowd attending. Plenty of show cars coming too. Show starts at 18:00, hope to see some of you there. I have a LG W150 with metal strap. Nice looking watch but honestly, I’ve used it twice and I don’t intend to use it again. It seems cool checking your text messages on a watch but it’s easier on your phone. And I don’t like connecting my earphones to my phone, then watch to take a call. Easier just to connect directly to the phone. Plus having to recharge it is a pain in the arse. I get why people like smart watches but it’s not for me. I get more use out of my karama branded replica watches.

Almost 90% of my race Honda I build was shipped in, But as I only really require 1x item, I think i might need to suck the extra cost for convenience. I will see what they say .. As i small business owner, i understand the cost of running a company.. but in this town it always seems to be retail + 50% mark up

Hi Guys, Here is a link to the video one of our supporters made. I was lucky enough to be sitting in the Navigation seat with the Great Mark Powell, as we thundered across the Choppy desert. Much more technical than Al Qudra races prior We achieved a solid 2nd place, and it was the first Rally ive finished both rounds in, and my first off-road podium.

Being die hard Sony fan I bought Sony Smart Watch 3 (SWR50) steel thinking i will use it as a daily watch. Unfortunately used only for a month. Big no no was charging watch every alternate days.

You can expect the 42 mm model of the Galaxy Watch to last fairly comfortably up to 4 days on a charge, and the 46 mm model can get up to 7 days without charging. The battery life of the Apple Watch 4 is roughly on par with the battery life of the previous Apple Watch, which is to say around 18 hours on a charge. Samsung is clearly a huge winner when it comes to battery life, and we expect that this victory will cost Apple quite a few customers. What is the point of having top-notch features packed up in a watch when you won't have any battery to use those features?? It's not rocket science, clearly, galaxy watch is the smart choice.

With the summer coming closer, we will go a little deeper into the dangers of being exposed to the extreme heat UAE brings to us. During off-roading, some activities such as recovery work, replacing tyres, and dealing with pop-outs, are physically demanding, and many of us who are in office jobs are not trained to cope with this amount of heat. Luckily with the help of some basic things, we can minimize the risk of below mentioned issues. The following risks are identified: Heat exhaustion: Warning signs: A person may suddenly look pale. Heart rate will increase and the victim may complain of feeling dizzy and nauseous. A feeling of weakness is also common. What to do: Seek shade immediately and lie down, especially if you’re feeling lightheaded. Apply a cold compress to the forehead and remove extra layers. Heat Stroke: Warning signs: Heat stroke is a type of hypothermia where the body temperature is greatly elevated. If not treated immediately it can be fatal. Symptoms are similar to those of a heart attack, along with nausea, headaches, hallucinations, difficulty in breathing, and agitation, What to do: apply cool water to the skin and place ice packs under the arms to reduce the temperature quickly. Preventive Measures: • Sip some water all day long, rather than just when you are thirsty. If you are thirsty it means you are already dehydrated. • Wear light clothing that can "breathe", but also wear sunblock and keep your head protected with a cap or hat. • Some fruit and vegetables can re-hydrate the body even more than water. Carry some in your cooler. • Water is important, but too much water can be dangerous as it can cause electrolyte depletion. Limit yourselves to 2-3 liters per day. • When recovering a vehicle in full sun, limit your exposure time and take some rest every couple of minutes. Because you are focused on the task at hand, you might completely forget the heat and become dizzy and exhausted. • If at some point you feel unwell, inform your club members immediately. When driving, inform immediately over the radio so the convoy can be stopped. • Keep an eye out for your fellow club members. It is relatively easy to recognize above symptoms in somebody else. Let them take appropriate rest. Please do share your tips, hints, experiences !

If you’re fitting any suspension parts when the car is on a lift, make sure the mechanic leaves the bolts loose and only tightens them when the car has all 4 wheels on the ground. This means your bushings etc will be unstressed. If the bolts are tightened when the car is in the air, when the wheels touch the ground, the rubber parts will be under stress and will wear out faster.

Recently when i tried to register my prado,quote received from the dealer was 5K+ for the car value 150K. Im with OIC since 2013. based on my NCB till date i was offered around 3.5K (All Inclusive).

it won't work @amir.rophail, i have an appointment at 9, so i need to hit the street at 8, i don't know how much drive time will that be, probably less than an hour, it's not worth it... this also will affect the track @Srikumar had planned for sure. you know how much i wanted to join this one, i mean i bought a frigging shovel yesterday 😂

Please note there is a difference between a smart watch and a smart band, if I'm not mistaken fit bit is a smart band and not a smart watch, not so sure about the Garmin though.

I would say somewhere between +50% to +200% markup, depending on the part.

Most of the shops here call themselves dealers but they just take advantage of the prices they get as distributors to get more profit margin. TORC is usually more expensive than the others, you should call them they sometimes will not reply to emails. Most of the time I prefer to buy my things in the US and just ship them to the UAE.

I had the Fitbit and it is not bad, it is more for people that are active you should check them out at any electronics store like SharafDG, I gave mine to the wife and she loves it, I realized I prefer my watches the old fashion way.

Hi there. I usually join jeep club intermediate drive. I was in big red area several time and I am willing to take part to a challenging drive. Will the Fewbie drive take place?

i believe what happened with him is what happened with me couple of times... i join the drive without knowing, i click on "going" to see who is going, and i end up joining without noticing, still happens to me.

And unfortunately your drive lead is a sober guy, so you can't even bribe him with Mezcal to keep the drive on with 3 cars. Maybe think of something else.

Gaurav is right of course, but few people carry water consumption calculators, and when they do, they don't always take them seriously. Nonetheless, a rule of thumb that I learned during my military service in the Namib desert is that drinking a liter of water every hour (spread out over an hour) keeps you more evenly hydrated than drinking a liter of water once every hour. And as @shadow79 said, adding a tiny pinch of salt and a few drops of glucose to every liter of water you take during a hot day goes long way toward maintaining your electrolyte levels.

@amir.rophail welcome back. Hope you have sorted out your rear recovery points. Since its expected to be a short convoy, its important that every vehicle should have a proper industrial shovel, and recovery ropes (soft shackles are preferred).

I have New India Insurance, and for recovery they will only cover within the city limits. So if you have a breakdown in Dubai they will tow your vehicle only till Dubai which for me is frankly of no use.

I have compared all the quotations received last few days.The best i got from New india insurance company for an amount of 1680 dhs for full comprehensive package with off road cover for an car value for 60000 dhs. Excess amount have to pay in off road claims if the mistake is happened from my side. The package is with out substitute car cover. Does any one have experience with Newindia insurance company? By the way , thanks a lot for all of your feedback , its really helped me to get better grip on things. Jay
