My 2008 3.7 Cherokee gives about 6.5KMPL combined highway and City. (excluding the desert drives)

That seems right as my 4.0 prado is 7Km/litre average (urban+highway) in winters. Slightly less when returning from the desert ofcourse and during summers due to more AC usage. So may go down to 6K/ltr.

If you are driving within the city, this would be the mileage. If cruising on the highway at around 100 kmph you will get about 8 - 8.5 km/l

If you give you your card, and the person makes a copy of both sides, he or she can do with it what she wants. Some banks have a verification for online transfers (after a certain amount), where you have to verify your transfer by a code that you'll receive after putting al your details (also the 3 numbers on the back). Better to pay cash.

It is not the tap thing, because a full tank for mine costs 260 AED. It is probably the old school magnetic swipe with signature verification, but instead of that, they type your license plate in.

This feature was launched after the release of the Tap function, of you remember before we had to give the Pin to the pump attendant or type it in. It’s considered safe as it’s below 200 Per Transaction (meaning I can swipe unlimited in amounts of 200 if the bank doesn’t recognize the pattern.) Banks nowadays have liability clauses in the contracts and if you file a complaint for a charge the pump number and time is noted so it’s very easy to track who was using the card without your approval.

Was wondering if there is guideline to post Carnity's related posts on social media. Is the Carnity logo in high res available, can I use it in my videos? Maybe an idea to write a guideline and a house style to use for social media for the people that want to do the effort. What about tagging etc?

Have you ever noticed that ENOC fuel station doesn't require you to punch the security pin? I'm really clueless how, and concerned for safety to know more if someone is aware of any secret way to authorize credit card transaction without security pin or phone apps....?

Offroad insurance is must have, as far as you can have it until 7-10 years of age of vehicle. If Noor can't add, cancel that policy and switch to RSA and AXA, proven best insurance with no-headache offroad cover. Check RTA process for change of insurance and update here too (in separate thread) to help others.

Makes sense. Better safe than sorry. Another question which i forgot to ask is do i need comprehensive offroad insurance? I didnt get one at the time of registration as i didnt expect my desire to offroad to grow this quick haha..Since its in almost new condition, dont want to wreck it. Is it possible to only get an offroad cover added to your insurance now? Sorry for the many questions..

Remove it and keep it safe or else if desert removes it for you then it wont be in reusable shape. Image is not very clear showing the right ground clearance, if its less than 1 feet, 100% remove it to get 1 feet of ground clearance (at least). If it's more than 1 feet, then you can take 50-50 chance, only if you are very careful on every dune decline.

1. I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado crew cab 2. I will be humble and say i dont have much experience on dunes but have the will and the love to learn. 3. Yes it has the tow hooks front and rear. Do I need to remove the air damp which is attached to my trucks bumper or it will clear most dunes easily? I am not aware of the area as i reside in Abu Dhabi. Any advice would help.

In ENOC anything below AED 200 doesn't need a pin. This extends to many other retail outlets as well that accept Visa Wave cards. Just tap and hear the sms on your phone.

My first debit card and credit card in 1998 had a pin too. Dont know about your dino era bro, it's a safety issue. Especially now in today world of scammers and thieves.

Majority of these pre orders disappear when it comes close to cough up money time. Some detail comes up people don't like, delays in production etc etc many many reasons why people cancel. Many have booked because it's just a 100$ with no actual intention of buying it Some hoping to make money by selling their number in the line to someone who just has to have it right now So on so forth.

Yeah and it's called pre-order. It's still a big deal to score 200k in 3 days. Imagine 2 million preorder till production and even if 10% buys it makes 200k sale before the first truck rolls out of factory floor. Incredible.

Just to clarify, all respect for the patience of the seniors. As I mentioned in my first trip report, I have respect for the safety, especially for the briefing. I have no critic against the structure or the performing of the club. Only want to share my feelings, little bit open cards regarding my personality. Thanks @Xaf for your feedback and I like your enthusiasm. Kinda reminds me of when I started offroading where I was more than eager to play at every possible opportunity. But one rollover while criss-crossing at a wrong angle and speed made me realise that we need to push ourselves only to a certain point and not go overboard. It's based on such experiences and that of others that I was also in agreement when the Carnity Off-road Structure was formed. For Fewbies we do give them some responsibilities like second lead, Sweep etc. to test their readiness for the next level instead of testing them on particular sidey or hill climb. Now the duty of Sweep is to ensure that he is "always" there to assist when any of the other drivers need assistance and ensure smooth convoy movement and communicate the same to the drive lead periodically. So, while you were playing at Sweep position if you would have got stuck/lost then it would be very difficult for us to trace you back. Criteria's for upgrade to the next level is clearly laid out on the forum, which is based on performance and active participation during the drive and not just a particular side slopping test, etc. I believe with Carnity it was your first fewbie drive and Rahimdad has given you some positive feedback on how to improve for the next level of drives.

Seems like you and me are cut from the same cloth! The same reason I stopped doing newbie and fewbie drives when I was active. Just didn't have the patience. Plus I did enough training drives while I was working. I didn't like them either even if I was getting paid to do them. So most of the times I would do "secret drives" as in not post on the forums with just a select few in away from the weekend fish market areas. But credit is given where credit is due to people like RD and others who have the patience to keep doing them for years now again and again

The day after to show the sunset to my girl. Thanks again for the drive @Srikumar @Rahimdad @Atif. Thanks for the feedback @Rahimdad, this is why we come to get feedback and improve. Rahimdad was curious why I got a few refusals, to be honest now, and I hope you understand my viewpoint; I had the opportunity to be the sweep. I found the drive very easy and this is my character; when I get bored, or loose my patience I go to make it myself more interesting. Because I am at the back, I don't need to behave for the one that's driving behind me, so I can make it myself more challenging. Probably I will be shot down now by the seniors of my behaviour that safety goes first and also when you are at the back you have to drive in line with the convoy. I all understand this, trust me, but this is just my character. In all fairness, I hope that the drives will be more separated in levels. I see that a lot of guys are upgraded to a fewbie level. Also give the person the chance to go quicker to a next level drive. If you don't feel comfortable with it, let the person do some exercises, like, crossovers, sidesloping, shovelling, towing, etc etc. I am just thinking out loud, this is what I feel. This is my first offroad club experience, I have no idea how it goes in other clubs. But because I am getting bored now, I start looking to other clubs. Just my feedback!

Hi there. Will take delivery of an bn oldish swb wrangler on weds. My 4x4 experience is almost 100% in mud, not sand and quite a long time ago. I did courses and had a swb patrol. The car has hooks on both ends. But I don't have other equipment yet (boards, big jack) Is it ok to join?

@Wrangeld welcome to Carnity Off-road Club. Few questions: 1. Which 4x4 do you drive? 2. Have you had any previous off-road experience? 3. Does your 4x4 have front and rear tow hooks?

Seeing these videos makes me realize how quickly things can go wrong and one needs to be very agile, my take from this would be to listen, learn and react quickly.

My first experience in over 11 years of driving off-road. I have seen a few flips, but being inside the car during the roll was my first. When the car started to fish tail I remember telling @Mohammed Yaasir to turn left and go down, but just than I felt an upward movement and I knew at that speed we were in trouble. It was over in less than a second in my mind but video seems like slow motion. @Mohammed Yaasir also feels that he turned left, but when we got out from the car the wheels we pointing right. Like his spirit though as he has not let this incident dampen his spirits and is still looking for some action shortly. Big thanks to @Mohammed Yaasir allowing us to share this video for learning purpose and @Jamy B. for not wasting any time doing so. Just to understand better if @Mohammed Yaasir was nervous at that point as we have often noticed that when panicked people normally confuse the left and the right. Just one more thing to add, as the car had started fishtailing the sand would have gathered in a way to automatically steer the car to the right, it could be a Loose grip on the steering wheel that could also result in this roll over.

I know I'm bumping an old topic, but wanna know if any offroad clubs are still active in this hot weather? Few of us are thinking for a quick short evening drive and bbq with overnight camping if weather is nice at night. Appreciate if someone can give reference of working clubs in summer month.
