@Xaf you are most welcome to join us a passenger. We have plenty of cars that you can use for different angles. @Obaid.Sultan.1987 you are right on Low gear option, just make sure it engages well and move the car little bit, few meters in parking without any blinking light. Just dont dont drive on low gear on tarmac. Welcome @Incognitoes to carnity offroad club.4 points

@Gaurav... thanks for guidance... I kept on reading & searching for the same again. Well now I know more about the LO Gear mode & how the switch looks like. The switch on the far lower right side with two options // HI (with Highway mark) & LO(with mountains mark) on it ... that’s the Low Gear Option.. I did some research last time as well but I think it wasn’t good enough.. hope to be right this time.. haven’t gone to car but almost looks like the attached pic (pic is from older model though). however, will test its function tomorrow to make it sure it works fine. cheers!4 points

He wanted to go straight and fly and land on flat ground but for some reason he slowed at last moment and tried to cross sideways but he couldn't control. Fellow driver did it VID-20200115-WA0036.mp4 VID-20200115-WA0052.mp43 points

You could go to most off-road shops and they will install a killswitch for 200 aed or less. I would recommend to do this since the airbags need to be deactivated too, you do not want them to go off while offroading.3 points
-
I think he was going too much to the right side and was afraid to run over the people there, seems he was trying his best to correct it and try to go through the path, you can see he is reducing his speed. or he just need some basic offroad classes.3 points

Thanks Gaurav. I'm a newbie with a Wrangler JK : would like to join the drive this Friday. Look forward to meeting everyone.3 points

Interesting line up with cars. If i didn’t sleep well, I might come as a passenger and do some recording from a passenger seat. Any seat free from one of the Marshalers? The sweep would be better.3 points

Yeah I forgot, races aren't meant to play safe and survive, as all racers have 9 lives. Press enter to reset.2 points

Usually all rally and race drivers follow the tracks very precisely as they are well aware that many photographer and their own team support guys are standing at each post. This seems he approached way too fast to have such a huge jump, he would have still taken off if he would have crossed from left or right in place of photographers IMO. What I feel that when he realized in a split second that airborne is inevitable he steer left to have sideways roll (higher chances of survival and keeping vehicle intact) than nose dive which could be fatal.2 points

On the Pajero it can be completely switched off like this: 1) Switch off the engine, remove the key, open the engine bay, and locate the ABS relay, not the fuse because the fuse is very hard to pull out. The Relay is labeled below as B-17X (B). 2) Start the car, and push a few seconds on the ASC-button to disengage the Traction Control. 3) Go for a spin. You will likely see your ABS light flickering as crazy, but it won't engage or cut the power. I do this on my wife's 2008 Pajero and it works fine. Maybe on the younger pajeros this method is not necessary but i am not sure of that.2 points

Most cars don't let you completely switch off the traction control. It just gets more tame but still therr2 points

LED lights for the summer night drives. I hope my tires last one more season, if not, 17” wheels. So my Rays TE37 might go for sale, not sure yet. If anyone is interested, let me know.2 points

@Obaid.Sultan.1987 Low gear is different than the manual mode. Share the pics of driver side right hand side all knobs and buttons on center console. For tow hook, check the owners manual and I guess you need to remove small plastic piece to reveal the back hook, if it has hitch hole then you need a hitch receiver too.2 points

The Land Cruiser Xtreme is done by the famous Artic Trucks company for Futtaim. Same people who did the 2 Hilux pickups for the famous Top Gear Polar expedition special. That's why its a proper job. Because it's done by professionals with decades of off road experience behind them. But so is the price. A 100k over the price of a regular VXR Me and Investor friend were actually in talks with the owner of Artic Trucks to open a off road mods garage here. That time they hadn't partnered up with Al Futtaim and we're trying to tap into the middle East market. They even entered a modified LC80 in one of the Gulf News fundrives in Liwa but the result wasn't too good. I guess they were still learning the difference between offroading in heavy snow vs Sand2 points

I think GCC only had 5 cyl model in H3. 2005 -2005 - 3.5 liter - 220 hp 2007 -2010 - 3.7 liter - 240 hp Both are capable offroaders with good offroad stance, clearance and reasonable power/weight ratio. If he has offroad package then he will also have underbody protection with front and rear diff even.2 points

Hi, I’m just a beginner and would like to explore more about off-roading. Was a bit hesitant to venture out alone. Saw about this event online and would love to join. I drive a H3, hope its good enough.2 points

Could just be a dealer mod special edition. Many do that, just add a few stickers and stripes, badges, maybe a few extras like leather seats and stuff call it limited or special edition and charge extra. Most of the Toyota stuff here is like that. Since there is no info online save for the Dubai motorshow makes me believe it's a habtoor special with an ARB bumper and some tyres. Wouldn't pay more than 25 for it1 point
-
Sure worth digging in more with Habtoor and see what's underneath specs and protection it has (if any). Also ask your friend or habtoor what was the selling price when new, so that you can get fair depreciation value to decide than just emotional or sentimental figure. SWB + 3.8 is always rare and pricey, but my major turn off is the black color (unless you really love it). Black is difficult to keep it clean, minor scratches shout out loud, stay hot in summer and have worst resale value in UAE.1 point

Hahha could be! However there is one at the back of the car and its metallic. could be a limited edition or a scam.. only thing that tells me it existed is the dubai motorshow. it is a very clean car and it will be nice for some desert fun. thanks for the replied Frederic!1 point

I think the owner of this Pajero just bought this sticker in Dragon Mart 😅1 point
-
Hi Vic, Welcome to Carnity ! To be honest, i have never heard of this edition. Only found this orange / red stickered LWB one on a Polish website. Are you sure it is available in GCC ? The Pajero can be easily modified to your wishes and budget.1 point

I am thinking about any of this but I am not sure which I'm going first. I know I will need to compromise at some point. Add metal bumpers and a winch Remove the back seat and add a custom storage box to put all my equipment there. Supercharger - If I do this I wont do the other stuff1 point

Hi @Obaid.Sultan.1987 Welcome to Carnity Off-road Club. To answer your query Range Rover Sports is not an ideal off-roader, unlike Range Rover Vogue due to low hanging bumper and low profile oversize tires. RR Sports is more aimed for on-road performance rather than for off-road.. But being a Range Rover they are borderline acceptable for newbie level drives. If this car is too special or precious for you, I wouldn't advise you to take a chance due to its low clearance and thin tires. If this is the second or third car in your household and you guys are done with its on-road use and wish to test its off-road character, then you can join the drive. We will still double-check everything before the drive like low gearing, sand mode response, max suspension height, tow hook etc.1 point
