Thanks all for the lovely response to the drive - is really very encouraging and motivating. And honestly added a bit of pressure of expectation as well, have I oversold it? 😀😀 Also a bit curious if its the LOR or a Little Sweihan magic? Hope no one mixed it with Sweihan, Abu Dhabi. 😀 We have a long WL and as you can imagine surely can’t extend the convoy to accommodate all. While I am evaluating options, seek your support as well. a. In case you are not sure or your plan is changing, please ensure you update RSVP at the earliest - surely wont be good that we lose a slot while we have 8 ppl in WL - with 6 of them having this as their only drive option for the weekend. b. For drivers Intermediate and Above, in case missed out, there is another Intermediate drive as well at same time and understand still has some slot open. Though it’s a Abu Dhabi drive, starting point is just at border of Dubai-Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. So not much diff in alarm time 😀. Plus is a totally new terrain - not explored before by any of Carnity convoy. Accordingly, if you find it interesting, kindly review. Thanks again and will surely revert with some plan based on overall picture in couple of days and really looking forward to Sunday. 🙏 @Rob S @Imteeaz @Beide Worku @Imran Kashif @Looper @Ranjan Das @Daniel Rodas @Gregory @takeshi sobue @Sam K @Senthil Kumar @Haitham Khattab @Amr Aydin @Mahmoud Taha @Tareq Al Turq @Chris Wing @salah2u @Alexanderrr@Salim Akhtar9 points

Hello guys Excellent drive it's been a while since I've been out and loved every moment sorry about the late start. I got two fines on the way for not paying attention to my cruise control 😕 Thank you Varun for making space for me on the drive I really appreciated it. Haven't seen you in two years but you look younger than I remember you. What's the secret! Everyone drove wonderfully sorry I had to leave quickly at the end I had builders at my house waiting to do some work and the missus was under pressure. I drove to the local adnoc to re pressure and zipped off. Thanks all and see you all again. btw brilliant team work throughout Its the team work and helping and everyone chipping in etc I enjoy more than driving that's for sure. Last thing Mr X terra sorry can't remember your name it's time for a new air filter lol and beide I really hope there wasn't a big bill for your airbags. Kill switch can be done cheap at marshal autocare he did mine for about 120 I think Good night all and have a great week ahead3 points

I believe I now found the holy grail of deactivating the airbags on the RAM 1500. It was as simple as asking the dealership. Although they didn't have a OEM switch, they some how improvised and fitted a nanny kill switch for me, switching off all the bothersome systems when off roading with a simple toggle underneath the steering. Will test it oit on Saturday.2 points

An old story forever locked up within me! Today, I have decided to get this outstanding drive into words, still not being enough. Driving through liwa dunes every winter is always a pilgrimage journey for me, where I get the chance to explore more, and this time my plan was to pierce the proper liwa dunes. We had attempted the planned track twice before, which we were unable to complete due to reasons. This time, I had planned on starting from Liwa city, towards the moreeb dune where we can find one of the most tallest dune in the UAE and one of the largest hill climbs in the world. On reaching the moreeb dune, my further plan was to return back from where we had started. Returning back to the start point through the slip face was really challenging for me, but surely @Frederic made my plan much easier by sharing a track which helped me execute it better. "Thank you my Freddy boy" It was quite a short distance, around 70km, with extreme challenge being faced. I believe this track could be the maximum level of dunes which can be attained filled with number of pockets, bowls, sharp ridges and massive slip faces which is next to impossible to climb, and of course the unpredictable soft patches. The dune formation in Liwa is totally different from what we usually drive through. Climbing to the top of the dunes is really challenging, and once you reach to the top, the rolling dunes are marvelous, making it really enjoyable to drive on those sets of rolling dunes. We had a very short and sweet convoy @ShereenMK in his Land cruiser was my second lead promptly correcting the tracks whenever i had an obstacle. @Karthikeyan Govindarajan was behind him in his LC followed by @Mus_hus78 with his co pilot Khaleel bhai in his pajero and finally at the end @Rob H with his black panther tundra. I salute you all for driving in one of the most challenging dunes without a single stuck which is really commendable. It was a beautiful morning on February, 27th 2022 and @Rob H was the first one to arrive at the meeting point and he was waiting for us with deflated tyres and flag on. Everyone showed up after me and we all were set to go on time. After safety briefing and few tips from my previous attempts to cross on those monster dunes, we left to explore them. It was really challenging for me to lead the track and find a easy way out through the pockets and soft patches all over the track. I was the only one who got stuck and recovered 3 to 4 times. At one point, at the time of recovery I ended up with flat tyre and after inflating we noticed that the air was escaping through the rim bead. The challenge was to pop out the tyre to clean the sand. I learnt a new technic from @Rob H (Rob Harper) who is by profession a race car expert on how to pop out tyres without moving the vehicle. After a quick fix we reached moreeb dunes prior to the planned time. We all had lot of fun trying to climb the slip face straight up and exit straight down for almost 1 hour. After fulfilling our quench to play and having quick snacks we planned to drive back to the start point which I planned parallel to the track we went. It was really challenging to drive back through slip face but we did it and exited the drive on time by 3pm. It was a wonderful experience for me which is one of my the best desert drive and looking forward to drive in such terrains again. Salute to all of you for your support and for joining the drive and make my dream come true. See you all this winter - "LIWA Returns" And last but most important, would thank my daughter Zaina, who navigated me throughout the drive and has already started reading the dunes.2 points

Sad indeed! This shows the risk involved in every adventure activities be it paramotoring or off-roading or any other extreme sports… following the safety instructions and rules are of paramount importance…still sometimes things go the wrong way and even the most experienced can have a hard day.. rip1 point

I would like to thank you Dr. @Chaitanya D for the nice smooth drive . As always its a pleasure to dive with you as every drive is a different leering experience . The convoy drove quite nicely, with a few refusals and stucks here and there which is a normal part of this game. most importantly is to learn from each and every situation. special thanks to @Tareq Al Turq for his great job as a 2nd lead and @Zixuan Huang - Charliefor supporting the convoy and @Danish Mohammadfor sweeping the convoy and making sure all of us safe. it was a pleasure meeting all the new faces as well as the old friends during the drive . and thanks everyone who helped us with the shoveling during the recoveries . @Andrei S @Yerem Davtyan@premindra rajaram @Benjamin @Ahmed Wagdy @Rayas Ali Please share the drives pictures in the gallery section. looking forward to seeing you all again soon.1 point

Dear @Ale Vallecchithank you very much for yesterday’s drive, one to remember with all my refusals! Soft sand can definitely be traitorous! @Looperthank you for your assistance and a very special mention to @Ignacio Quindóswho literally saved me from a nasty sand pocket with his winch.1 point

Good morning, hope you had good time and enjoyed your weekend. Thank you all who joined our adventure, which believe was full of action and hope all enjoyed, and apologies for whom they found the drive didn’t meet their expectation 😊. Glad to see all smiling faces at the meeting point, preparing for the drive. As soon as we started, the close by dunes were like calling “start with us” which we did, and left them marked with tracks. Then moved towards other set of dunes, where we had good climbs, till I had my pop out, which was fixed with the help of @Tom B jack, which did not require any additional base…thanks Tom, and thank you for helping fixing the pop out. Started moving again, till we got the second pop out of. @Alexanderrr which was in a tight churned place, got fixed with the help of our great support team. After that moved again, enjoyed climbs, till we got the issue of @Amir Amiri of having noise in his car, made us deciding to keep a group wanted to continue and exiting another few with Amir. Hope Amir not big issue with your car, and will be fixed soon. Went back to the waiting group to exit them as well, since took us sometime to exit Amir due to issues in his car. By the time reached back, decided to reach the super bowl to say hello, and exit. There was really good fun, enjoyed, and thanks to the team to decide to continue and not exiting. That part raised the level of the drive, and then personally thought I had a good desert drive and can exit 💪🏼😅. Despite long convoy, but you my friends made the drive. @Alexanderrr amazing SL and first IM drive. You did really well. I have been in this position earlier when started IM drives, and I know exactly what does it mean 😂. @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler @Mohamad Anwer @JamesThorn @ASAD. @Tom B @Fabien Monleau @Chris Wing good to see you again, you guys did very well. @Mario Cornejo glad to see you again after long time, and wish you a good safe journey, hope to see you soon. Great support team @Rob S and @Waqas Parvez thank you very much for your support. Below summary of what have we done. Look forward to see you again, and since didn’t get enough will in sha Allah visit Shuweib again soon. Have a nice week ahead, take care.1 point
