And if I am not mistaken it doesn't upshift. So a perfect beast for the sand. You will be missed @Warren Flay, wish you and your family good luck for the next adventures.4 points

@Warren Flay - we've done a fair number of drives together and I always knew if you were SL, we would have a great day out. And we usually did. It was an absolute pleasure to share our forays out into the sands with you, and here's wishing you amazing new adventures on your onward journey! And for anybody who's considering Warren's Pajero, I can attest to its capability. Not only did it climb high and sustain through the longest of our drives, it also sounded thunderous doing it. It's also a 3.8L short wheelbase so the power to weight ratio on this car is just so right.4 points

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Sad to see you leaving @Warren Flay ! Your enthusiasm on every drive was contagious and your Pajero was indeed a fantastic little truck ! Wishing you all the best !4 points

Dear Desertnauts, on my way back to the UAE, I am looking forward to this weekday drive, to keep myself in shape with my desert driving, and to celebrate together a nice end to quite an intense year. As the drive's name suggests, it aims to be an Express drive, from Lisaili to Ganthoot. We will cut an almost straight line through the dunes, keeping the pylon track almost constantly in our sight, off to the right of the planned track. We'll cross a tarmac road once, upon reaching the outskirts of Solar Park, before continuing south to our final destination, chasing the Southern Star. We may encounter some unusual wet weather, but we'll not be deterred by it, and will adapt to any possible rainy spells by managing our convoy distances and speed. I actually have found my few drives in the middle of rainstorms to be truly exhilarating. Also, I am confident that we'll find a nice sunset at the end of our drive. The convoy will line up as follows: @Gertjan in Second Lead @Gregory at #3 @Senthil Kumar at #4 @Gerrit Bus #5 @Mohamad Anwer at the Center position @KAMALIO at #7 @Archibald Jurdi #8 @topgear at #9, and @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler will be Sweeping. We'll pick a suitable radio channel at the starting point. In the meantime, I wish you all a very nice evening and a pleasant Wednesday. See you on Thursday, in time for a speedy 2PM departure.3 points

Hi @Albarqawi85 yes you can register as this is not an off-road drive. You can invite your friend over as well. If he has a 4x4 or AWD he can drive all the way up to the Party location, if he has a sedan or 2WD he can leave the car at the meeting point and jump into your car.3 points

@Jessica Lambert glad it all worked out always a worry when you recommend a workshop. 😅3 points

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I am leaving the UAE. My wife has got a nice new job with FIFA and the opportunity is too good to refuse. We leave in February so that means my cars are for sale: Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 2017 stock standard in excellent condition with 170000km travelled. Brand new tyres and service just done. Full service history. Owned since new. Asking 135000 or near offer. The little Gold Pajero that could! 2016 SWB in top GLS trim with 3.8 Mivec engine (locking rear axle). 120000km fresh service. EFS shocks and springs giving 40mm lift. 65 series Geolandars giving another 25 mm lift. Chiptronic ECU reflash giving more revs and earlier cooling fan cut in. Modified exhaust fitted but all original cat and mufflers come with it. CHRONOS traction control switch means no more pulling fuses to kill TC and ABS, it also emulates a locking front diff when needed. ICON bash plates in 8mm front and rear and front valance trimmed to suit. Those of you who have driven with me know this is a very capable little truck and those of you who haven't can rest assured that she is in very good condition and gets full maintenance only at respected shops. All of the offroad safety gear (to Intermediate level) is available if you want it, it's all negotiable but I will not separate it from the sale of the car, especially the ARB twin compressor with reservoir! Asking 45000 all in2 points

Hi @M.Seidam i believe it is a wise decision. I would have personally enjoyed driving with you in the rain; i still remember we had a drive earlier this year (under your lead) and when we reached Al Qudra, it was really pouring down and it took me 2 hours to reach home (and in the meantime, there was water ingress into the electrical DB). Stay safe1 point

I will have to take myself out of this ride as well. Sorry gentlemen. I was looking forward to this one.1 point

Hello, I have two questions , Can I register in this gathering although I am registered in Newbie drive on Fri 30 Dec ? if I register then I am planning to bring my family , my question whether I can invite also my friend with his family (he is not member)1 point
-
No worries, technically it's restricting due to single drive restriction, but ideally, this New Year's Eve get-together shouldn't be competing with regular drives. RSVP again on the 29 Dec, Thu.1 point
