Period: April - June 2023 Drives in the spotlight Leading and successfully executing a high-level offroad drive is always a challenge. Finding that delicate balance of pushing our best off-roaders to the limit while still keeping things safe is very difficult and mentally tiring. When @Asif Hussainposted this drive, the expectations were high, knowing that the terrain had fantastic bowls and that the thrill seekers would be present. Asif laid out a buffet of monster bowls and kept the blistering pace throughout the drive, and the feedback after the drive was uniform: "It was unforgettable"... Keep up these fantastic drives @Asif Hussain !! Member in the spotlight Most of you have driven in Abu Dhabi, and if you did, chances were extremely high to come across @Zed who is always around and carries the biggest smile and positive attitude. You'll spot him either in his fully restored black LC100 or his Grand Cherokee 5.7 roaring monster. Always ready to help out and extremely knowledgeable about offroad vehicles, coding, and food (so we've heard )... Keep infecting us with that positive attitude @Zed !! Lead Champion Big congratulations to @M.Seidam for being our lead champion this quarter with a massive 10 drives ! Your dedication shines bright and your passion for off-roading is unmatched ! Support Champions Big congratulations to @Looper and @DP1011 for being our support champions this quarter with a whopping 17 and 16 supports this quarter ! Special Mention A special mention goes out to our marshal @GauravSoni who has kickstarted our sustainability campaign by showing the right example straight away! Let's all do our part in keeping the deserts clean ! Message to all our champions: Your dedication is an admirable quality that is truly valued and appreciated. Your unwavering passion for off-roading has not gone unnoticed, and it is an inspiration to those around you today. We thank you and look forward to seeing the many great things you will achieve in the future.

  9. When you upload videos to YouTube, you must specify that the video is not meant for Kids otherwise it is by default take up in the YouTube Kids. In YouTube Kids it switches off comments as well as background playback (even if you have YouTube Premium) and YouTube would not let the video be saved to viewers playlists as well plus subscribers to the channel don’t get any notifications (learn more). You Do Not want to upload videos in Kids Mode because One: They are not meant for Kids even. Two With kids' mode the exposure that you get on the video becomes restricted and you do not reach your intended audience - your videos are recommended to less than 13-year-olds. You can however edit the setting in YouTube Studio (https://studio.youtube.com/) to specify "No, it's not 'Made of Kids' (go to Profile>YouTube Studio>Content>Video in the Audience section) Example of YouTube Kids more video: 08 07 23 FB Plus_Faqa_fishtailing Bu Tais to Umm Al Oush (i am deliberately not embedding the videos) PS: I will change, if the current video is edited to remove it from Kids Mode.

  13. Thanks @Looper..i have changed my video settings.. By opting "made for kids" i thought i was just declaring that it was "safe" for kids to watch..and thereby increasing the audience base 😀 and not restricting it. Because there is another option to restrict to 18 yrs or older, which i did not select........anyways... I see now, it was kind of counter intuitive!!

  16. Thank for joining on this drive @Alphin Aloor@Tom V@Gok Krish@Srikumar! As soon as the sun started to settle, we headed South to explore and see what was in store for us in this mostly unknown desert. As expected we found bushes, and lots of them ! Apparently a few ghosts along the way as well Some areas proved to be quite technical, and the low gear was often the only rescue to get through the powderish soft sand. Where i could, i chose to zip through existing farm tracks so we had some relief from the bumpy terrain. We exited close to Rashidiya, and i think this was a kind of overlanding / rocking / rolling desert drive that might be worth exploring during daylight as well. Below a screenshot of the track we did: Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon !

  17. Dear Desert Adventurers, well we said it would be an adventure and it did not disappoint, we had some tricky technical areas, coupled with vegetation that made the going tougher than I would have like at the start but you all managed it extremely well. the second half of the drive saw us flowing through so longer-range dunes. we had very few refusals and only one stuck where we did have to get the shovels out and a couple of winches and a rope, this was at a tricky angle but you guys were amazing and assisted me to get it resolved quickly and effortlessly so well done and thank you. Fantastic S/L from @Joseph Raju you did everything right hanging back enough to give yourself time to react to my instructions well done. @Sunil Mathew brilliant as always at sweep you did amazingly well keeping the convoy together and me informed. @Pierre de Maigret and @Bjoern you guys as did the other team members drove exceptionally well in as we described above so tricky terrain so well done to you all. @Paolo Pellegrini @Islam Soliman sorry we lost you guys so early, but it was hot hot hot, hope you get on top of you heating issues and we see you in the sand again very soon.

  19. Wow this is so cool, thanks @Frederic glad I joined your drive after office hours 😁 Actually I don't know much about offroad cars, my computer science background makes it simple binary: you can either break them or drive them 😂
