---------Update after 2 weeks of change-------------- The X seems to be restored to its might! No AC or power cut-offs. Done 2 drives after the change and the last one was at Big red... AC cooling non stop and can feel the roar in the climbs.. so no more complaints. How critical a small mistake can cause.. an issue so small and unidentifiable, yet makes a big difference. I finally realized the importance of "right" spark plugs... As they say " it only comes with experience". Thank you all for the guidance and a special shout out to @Thomas Varghese

Dear Patrols. As you have seen, tomorrow's rendezvous has been selected and shared. It is easily accessible from the Qudra's gas station, as you exit it toward the round-about, you may see it on your left. Do start deflating as soon as you reach the location. We will launch the patrol from Qudra through the western quadrant of this area, likely all the way down to Ghantoot, then across to Little Sweihan, and eventually to Faqa through sabkhas and long-range dunes. We aim to keep an average speed of 25Km/h, to complete the patrol within 4 hours. Hi @Simon D if we work backwards from the problem, then you may derive your own conclusion here: So the problem starts with engines equipped with EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), where some of the exhaust gas containing Nitro Oxide are being re-routed back to the cylinders to be burned off again. But at the same time, oil mist from the crankcase also enters the manifold. The combination of oil mist + exhaust from EGR = soot / carbon deposits, which you saw when you open your manifold (for others refer to photo ref #1 below). So doesn't matter Diesel vs Gasoline, if you have EGR, you'll soon see soot 😁but because Diesel produces Nitro Oxide more than gasoline, you'll see EGR being enforced for Diesels in environmentally-friendly countries. Solutions to the Soot: 1. Yield to the Manufacturer. This is when everyone says "if Mitsubishi engineers are so smart, why they let this happen?". So EGR is a Law-thingy, and they cannot sell in Europe, America if they don't comply. If you accept this solution, then we can just chin-up and pay when the lazy mechanics say "oh, this soot is too much, we cannot clean it, let's buy a new intake manifold" or "the soot came back within months, really? Then we need to replace your EGR Valve, it may be malfunctioning!" 2. Delete EGR Valve + Blanking Plate: this removes the valve that close/open to allow gases to re-enter the manifold and block the hole for EGR with a plate. Note that modern engines open/close valve electronically and have sensors, so assume the Computer does some assumptions and calculations based on EGR. So if you delete EGR, it may throw Check Engine Light. Is it safe? EGR is turned off during idle, otherwise it will cause rough idle, so technically with EGR off, engines can still run fine. Deleting EGR is like Deleting Catalytic Converter, it will throw CEL, it's bad for the environment, but car will still run fine. 3. Prevent Oil Mist from re-entering to meet with EGR: this is Catch-Can. But if you do #2, which is more effective, you don't have to do this Catch-Can thingy. If you love the environment and don't mind emptying Catch-Can every month, then this is the solution you'll choose.... until you find out that your Catch Can is still producing soot every few months 😂 Good luck with your choice, and update us after few months of implementing it 🙂

on your Y61 there are no side airbags i presume, so i agree it's better and safe to leave them activated.

It must be like a Chinese whisper game, when we say disable side airbags, after sometime "side" disappeared and ppl start assuming disable all airbags, lol.

This is a very important info about the airbag. I was infact planning on going and getting another switch to disable the front airbag. Good I did not do that. Safety comes first! I think Sequoia has a switch to disable the side impact airbag as per some blogs. I will check this out and post it here, so that it might help out some others too.

Its not about 25 kg weight, its about axle, tranny, driveshaft has to rotate 5 kg heavier tire (rotational weight) that deliver lesser WHP (wheel horse power) result in slightly lesser climbing capabilities.

Good topic @DP1011 to compile this crucial information at one place. Just to clarify as Fredy already mentioned, we only emphasis and insist on disabling Side Airbags on US and EU origin brands, Japanese manufacturer mastered the side airbag very well and they don't deploy on crisscrossing. Front airbag is safety requirement, and one should NOT disable it, as it can save your life in case of nasty accident or frontal roll-over. Even on higher level drives, one should not disable front airbag, please.

Car mode: Jeep Wrangler 2019 - 2 Door Sport kill Switch Button (if yes, where to locate) - Soft Kill Switch with Tazer JL Airbags turn off button (if yes where to locate): NO Other comments: This device get plugged into the SGW connectors. It can be used to make some changes to the car such as Tire Size change, changes to system if you have changed headlights or changed the head unit etc. This can also be left in the car connected that lends a lot of "Live Functions". One of them particularly useful is the "TC Kill" – turn off traction control, stability control and ABS.

I want this to get expanded into a live roll playing adventure when we pit two long range patrol units against each other in getting to different waypoints first without detecting each other 😎

lol Dont get hung up on Liwa, really. As you need a ride that you can enjoy 12 months rather than once a year. Liwa is not a big deal depending on which level drive you join, we have seen all size and shapes of cars doing liwa every year.
