  1. issue i had was the new tyres fit just fine. (265/65R17) but because of the different offset of the new rims the door cover would not close. Looked around for a nice delete for my model but decided it was easier to sawzal 4.5cm of depth off the spare tyre mount and weld it back together so that it was the right size. problem solved and could leave the covers, lights, sensors etc alone. (apart from the old man look problem)

  3. Personally i decided to cut and weld the spare tire mount it was like a 1 hour job. Kept everything in place 😎

  4. I fit the ARB inside my cut down spare mount with lots of free space. Could probably fit a ARB twin inside the standard spare wheel mount. Works well. https://carnity.com/forums/topic/18830-on-board-air-compressor-install/

  5. If you fancy installing a smaller type of compressor behind the spare tire, have a look here: https://www.nsvauto.com/compressors The ARB compressors are also being mounted regularly in the spare tire space of Nissan patrols.

  6. for other old people in this thread: there is another way... and I would love to try this in conjunction with some big-ass compressor to fit just behind the wheel too... The thread is here. If I ever decided to change tyres offset, I would go with this approach (albeit not as extreme as this one).

  7. This mod is usually being done when the tire size changes, so the spare tire doesn’t fit in the original stock cover anymore. Spare rim should be same size diameter as your other wheels if you’re planning on driving in 4H with center diff lock on. Otherwise your differential and transfer case might get damaged after a while as far as I can remember. In two wheel drive with open diff this is not an issue of course. If you rotate amongst 5 tires then definitely they should be identical.

  8. Hi Jerome! Yeah, I'm planning to join you on Saturday if my car leaves the garage on time - will recall my RSVP tomorrow if they fail the deadline 😅 Had 3 desert drives in a convoy (as part of a desert drive course, majorly Al-Qudra) and a few very simple solo drives (Big red / Fossil rock areas) Have stock Pajero tow hooks - hopefully they are sufficient All necessary equipment is there Looking forward to join you!

  12. Yep, plus the extra weight on the rear door and ease of access, ability to get the tyre off the door without having to open the back door. I was planning on modding the rear door for a work table/storage that would have made access to the standard removal bolts difficult. Personal preference but I am not a fan of the plastic cover, makes the car look like a old man’s car 😜

  13. Hi mate, I got the panels and the number plate relocation bracket from Australia. A bit more expensive but much better quality. They fitted like a dream. should be easy enough to find on google. I have sold my paj and all the bits/records that go with it.

  14. Thank you everyone for the replies. Much more insight and clarity! @Gaurav I checked with Dynatrade, they have stopped that service. But I am keen on researching more on this. 30k difference is a lot in my opinion. Thanks for the heads up! @PAJERO petelczyc luke that is correct, they are not taking any bookings for now, which leans more towards an import from KSA or Oman. Ras Al Khor guys are charging 40k surplus for the same car. I don't think it's worth that extra payout. @Frederic Lots of LC content on the page you shared, followed it. PS: Jimny got a 8.5/10 yay! @Gurcharan Mehta Both retro kings and Japanese masterpiece and about the same price. Agreed. @Alphin Aloor Agreed, only thing stopping me is Fred saying 'this is the only car I can see the fuel gauge move back while driving' haha 🙏🏼

  16. From where did you buy these panels from.... One garage has already removed the tyre cover and routed the cables to mount number plate, sensors and light but doesn't look clean....now i only need these panels...

  17. I would appreciate everyone who intends to join this drive to write what you think about this area and what you expect the drive is going to be like. A small note on the history of your drives in this area and any memorable drive that you drove here and cherish or hate. I am a firm believer in “Butterfly Effect”. One can not plan everything and one left turn will change the entire dynamics of the drive for better or for worse; who knows. What we want to do is enjoy anything and everything that comes our way. I am not going to draw any routes for this drive, perhaps for the first time. My current plan is to enter from the west and end in the east we will loop back to where we started. Ha ha a looper’s drive 😝 Let me warn you: this area can be quite complicated in some patches and wide open in some other but smaller patches. Little Swihan, as we call it; this area will have some very soft but narrow patches that would need your next level intense concentration while driving. It will be mostly technical drive, but if possible a slightly faster. (technical and faster don’t go together - like beer and buttermilk 😂 but I enjoy both) any idea who named it Little Swihan and why this area is called what it is called and since when ?

  18. Thanks @GauravSoni you have been a good example , seeing you take that grey Pajero everywhere let me realize that its is true what they say about " its the Driver not the CAR that really matters " 😁

  19. Thank you @Carnity for your trust in privileging me with such a big responsibility . This wouldn't be possible without the support and constant advices and feedback from everyone in the club starting with the Crew, Marshals, experts and all the other carnity members. from every single drive i have learned something new . but to my surprise, i have found that my passion was not off-roading only but helping others learn how to safely drive in the desert. seeing how other member progress is a huge satisfaction and pleasure . It have been a great journey so far with this amazing Carnity family and looking forward to continue the learning cycle along the way .
