  8. In an attempt to accommodate more Newbie drivers, I have added from the wait list the 3 NB drivers who have registered for 1 drive only. this weekend. That's a total of 16 cars for the convoy. @Amal Sunil @Kushal Thakkar @lucasmatt please confirm you are still available and interested in the drive. For drivers already confirmed in attendance list, no action needed, but PLEASE let me know or remove your self if you changed your plans. For drivers remaining on the wait list, stay tuned, in case there is a drop out before Friday afternoon, but I will not extend to more cars. Thank you for your understanding.

  14. Dear Desert Drivers Thank you for joining up for the Newbie Drive next Saturday in Nahel. This area offers a great variety of terrain in reasonably clean sand, with a beautiful desert environment. As you can see, we have a long wait list and unfortunately, I will not be able to accept every one. Having a very long convoy generally means more cars stucked, more stopping time for everyone, and at the end less enjoyment. I will confirm the final attendance list on Friday, so let me know before that in case you changed your plan, or remove directly your RSVP on the event. Thank you. In the meantime, you can also refresh your knowledge with the video in this most, and ensure that your radio is programmed in advance with the 10 Carnity frequencies. You can refer to the post below if needed.

  16. We will be staying in Western Liwa hotel for the night before.. last year we drove directly and it was a bit extreme during the day. Plus they have a good offer right now, only on their website. But you have to select two people for this offer to show up.. room + dinner + breakfast for 422 plus taxes, not bad.

  17. Good morning all! @Glenn W @Giacomo@Alexanderrr@Imran Asghar@AlexM@Senthil Kumar@Ashutosh Garg@Ahmed Farouk@Srikumar@DP1011 I wanted to provide some preliminary information, so you are able to prepare for this adventure. Please read below carefully. 1. The main emphasis on every Carnity drive is safety, but in LIWA this counts even much more. The sheer size of the dunes and remoteness of the terrain means this is not a dune-bashing event, but a traverse that will provide its own challenges and where we all will have to work as a team. Please set your expectations accordingly. 2. This week please double check your vehicle's fluids, filters, overall condition, and off-road gears. Any car can break down, but in this terrain, it can turn into a recovery nightmare. Try to work preventively and check up on everything. If the car is already showing some existing issues or hiccups, please do not risk bringing it. Make sure your spare tire is checked, and you have the wrench and tools to remove it when needed. 3. Please bring a full 15-20l jerrycan with you, either mounted on the outside (ideal) or safely strapped inside. Many cheap plastic jerrycans tend to leak from the filler cap, so maybe test it before installing in the car, or fill it up 70-80% so when slushing around the cap remains free of fuel. 4. Take enough rest beforehand. Either by camping the night before nearby the meeting point or going to bed early the night before. Lapses of concentration due to fatigue can be very dangerous in this terrain. During the day we will take breaks for lunch and a few shorter ones in between. Hope to see you all coming Saturday!
