DRIVE PLAN Switchbacks & Sandstorms: The Nazwa Triangle Challenge a high-adrenaline off-road training loop starting at Big Red, sweeping through Tawi Nazwa, climbing Pink Rock, and returning to Big Red. This route is designed to push your skills with fast-paced ridge runs, sharp crossovers, and dynamic switch tracks. Expect continuous movement, minimal breaks, and technical demands that require full focus and quick reactions. As we progress, the terrain and speed will intensify, preparing you for your next stop- intermediate-level . You will learn and focus on : Command over throttle on fast transitions Judging slip side behavior at speed Consistent communication and quick gap closure Positional awareness in dynamic crossover flow Reading terrain and anticipating changes under pressure This isn’t just a drive—it’s a proving ground. Come sharp, stay alert, and get ready to ride the pink sands like never before. the drive is expected to start at 5:30 am allowing sufficient time before the "sandstorms" kick in! Dear Desertnauts. Thanks a lot for signing up in quite a good number for this impromptu weekday drive. I am grateful to you for allowing me to go out on the sand one extra time. The drive is planned to enjoy a nice afternoon on the star dunes of the Al madam area, going south to north, from Bezhad Ranch to Super (or Iftar) Bowl. Hello and welcome to Carnity offroad club . few points worth mentioning here regarding desert driving in the night , more to be emphasized and reminded during the brief at the meeting point . 1. No need for offroad lights except for car number 1 . If you have them that’s ok to use them unless the front car asks kindly to let it off. All what you need is just to follow strictly the front car . The high beam stock lights/fog lights are adequate in convoy trips 2. Always see where you step ( hand torch or headlight ) during inflation , deflation and during the breaks. 3. Try to avoid the bushes when out from car. 4. it’s highly recommended to have your legs and feet covered as creepers like exposed feet and legs 😅 5. always carry your radio where ever you go. 6. the speed and distance between cars falls into half of that during daylight drive ( will talk more in the brief ) 7. Desert driving rules holds valid and more emphasized here as we are bound with limited visibility. 8. last but not least night drives are different world to explore and experience. It’s nice , cool and it’s another level of enjoyment . And once you do what Fredy mentioned, you will have enough clarity to buy parts from Dodge and then googling the best (def not cheap) Dodge workshop with tons of Google reviews or solid recommendations and ask them to replace those parts. However, in some cars heater core is buried deep inside the engine bay next to the firewall, so replacing it would be a tedious job and hence, outside independent Dodge specialists also cost more, but I am sure it will be a lot less than Trading Enterprises.

Hi @KS2025 It is extremely difficult to recommend shops. What i am happy with is not necessarily what you are happy with. Your first point of "a cheap but good mechanic" is already a red flag for me. If you want to get something good, it will never be really cheap! Having said that, what Dodge seems to quote is indeed very steep. I would first recommend having a sit down with them to understand how for example a heater core hose ends up costing 3,170AED. Surely the hose itself can be maybe only 250AED for both total, so does this mean they charge almost 3000 on labor? Similar story for the other two items. Ask them the cost breakdown of the parts vs labor. Dodge is using Mopar parts if i remember correctly that should be widely available. We all know that an official dealer is charging more than independent shops, but it should be still acceptable, and they should have the common sense to guide the customer with some more detailed information instead of pushing this quote in your throat.

@Ishak congratulations on your first lead, it was a nice smooth ride with good lines, perhaps because @Kirill K donated some of his car’s underbody to the sand, no stucks and some refusals to give people a second chance at attempting a climb, all in all a good run and a nice on time finish. @Danie did well on his first fewbie, looking forward to seeing you on more drives.
