Thanks everyone for an enjoyable morning! Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! After a quick briefing we got started having a warm up in the dunes just south of the ADNOC station. Nice clean dunes and a couple of steep descents that was a good photo op for @Fredericto get some action shots. there was a quick break in the action for everyone to get photos of the 'dead snake' which then decided to surprise us by coming back to life and hiding under Freddy's car. Continuing westwards we nearly made it to foxes dens, but our goal was further south across the sabkhas. Just before the technical zone we stopped for a break to recharge, then crossed this section without issue. The prize of crossing all that greenery was some very nice flowing big dunes where we upped the speed and took some high lines. From here it was a short drive on some trails to see the Bedford trucks... We definately need to sticker them.next time 😅 It was great how well the convoy was moving.. so we got the up the pace and take some of the lines to FB+ style. 😎 Thanks to the supporting cars for the clear and concise comms during the drive, super helpful @Aser @ChrisW @Zed. We covered 62km in 4 hours 💪💪 See you all in the sand again sometime soon

Drive Report – Tawi Nizwa to Pink Rock to Big Red | My 100th Drive & A Special Day What a fantastic day out in the sands! Today’s Fewbie drive from the majestic dunes of Tawi Nizwa, through the iconic Pink Rock, and ending at the legendary Big Red turned out to be nothing short of a 5-star Carnity experience. Everyone drove exceptionally well — smooth, focused, and in great control. We had no recoveries, just a few refusals and second attempts, which were handled swiftly and safely. It was a pleasure to see the convoy moving with such rhythm and confidence. A huge thank you to my Second Lead, @vinayak n, for following my lines so precisely and making last-minute route adjustments. Your support and focus was appreciated. Thanks also to @Senthil Kumar in Centre Forward and @Andrew John Melvill in Sweep — your help with refusals and keeping the convoy tight and together was much appreciated. It’s always a team effort, and today was a perfect example of that. Most importantly, thank you all for being part of some truly special memories. Today marked not only my 100th Carnity drive, but also my wedding anniversary, and I was honored to have my wife join us for this milestone. Your warmth and friendliness towards her truly reflect the spirit of Carnity — where we drive hard, support each other, and celebrate together. We also shared some Tim Hortons Tim Bits after our briefing and during one of our breaks. Tim Hortons is Canadian and something I'm fond of from back home. Glad so share some sweets with all of you today to mark the occassion. Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead. Big thank you to @Emanuel for leading this amazing trip, working together with @Andrew John Melvill, @vinayak n and @Dipu Francis to give us mere Fewbies a ride to remember! Fantastic scenery, great dunes and surely have learned a thing or two, maintaining momentum throughout the sweeping climbs in little and big red and trying some (forgiving) crests between Tawi Nizwa and Pink Rock. Spectacular fun going up Pink Rock and on the hillclimb at Big Red. The freshly-burnt Nissan was sort of a highlight as well, its molten aluminum being my daughter’s newest desert trophy. Emanuel, thanks again for the drive, congrats on the 100th ride and most of all congrats on the anniversary.

Absolutely. Everyone rose to the occasion and drove like champs. What a brilliant drive today. Loved every minute of it. From the laughter, watermelon, snake, and the Bedford trucks 🛻. We had all the ingredients in place today and your lead was superb. On to the next one ! Upwards and Forwards 🤣

I figured out at least half the reason now why I was getting refusals after every minute! Did somebody count?😁 My left link rod is missing and that resulted in damage to my new control arm!😵‍💫 which explains the thuds I was hearing all morning today and partially last week also. I think I dropped my link rod last week at Sweihan. I recall hearing that metal noise while I was self recovering....🤭 My mechanic says we need stronger replacements! I think he just loves my car and looks forward to having it with him more than me. That seems to be the only logical explanation why he installed shitty ones in the first place!

The more experienced drivers had a supportive and respectful attitude, thank you for that. With this nice configuration, we were able to cover a long route in a beautiful environment. Hope to see you all very soon for other adventures !

Hi! So after 10 years of my Pajero ownership I finally mustered the budget and courage to buy and install aftermarket wheels. Unfortunately, my Pajero had other plans. I have a 2” lift (Ironman), everything else is stock. Plan was to install 17” wheels, 0 offset with 265/70/17 tyres. This fit rubbed against the bumpers. We swapped for +25 offset wheels and 265/65/17 tyres however, the concavity of the wheels pushed against the front brake calipers. Upon research turns out this model has bigger brake calipers and is a known issue. The wheel shop tried installing 5mm spacers up front but that didn’t fit either. Not sure whether they were generic or otherwise. The wheels were RRW and models tried - RR7-H and RR7-S I really want to complete my build and happy to explore other brands (Method etc.). I would be grateful to hear from you guys on your experience and get your guidance on how to complete this project.

Thinking more about this drive today... Maybe the 'Hidden Gems' were actually our fellow drivers in our convoy, right there in front of our faces the whole time, and never really hidden at all 😜😍🥰🥰🥰

Seems very similar to my experience. In my case the aftermarket rims being wider 7.5 inches vs 9 inches was the main issue and then I went berserk!😁

Hi. I got the method 706 on my Pajero. If you google the official supplier of method wheels in Dubai, then go to their shop they will show you the exact wheels which are known to fit Pajero on the correct offsets. @Andrew John Melvill has some nice aftermarket wheels on his Pajero, think they were lenso brand but I'm not 100% on that.... 😅
