  1. Dear Desertnauts. Here is the briefing for tomorrow's extended drive. The drive plan - Starting at the back of Qudra's ADNOC gas station (where you may fill up the tank), to enter Qudra through its north-western segment. From here the goal is to drive in what used to be Dubai's off-roaders' playground, made of a field of long-range dunes, of medium to low height, but ideal for ridge riding and faster pace drives. I am expecting to find it much changed, and quite grassy (or worst, bushy), so that we'll aim to veer eastward, to reach a crossing point between the "old" Qudra and the more pristine Qudra's "Secret Dunes", past the Qudra Lakes' area. Here I hope to be able to spend at least 1 hour to enjoy the clean dunes and the sunset hour. The extended convoy - As mentioned, thanks to @Simon D's joining the convoy, we'll split the 23-car convoy in two halves, each led by myself and Simon. While in the "Old Qudra"'s segment we'll try to keep the convoy together, perhaps separated only by a short distance, once entered the "Qudra's Secret Dunes" we'll be able to have each half of the convoy find its way through the sand, to finish the drive either on the tarmac road to Lisaili, or by Flamingo Lake. The double convoy order - Each half of the convoy will be led and supported by higher ranked members, to make sure that the Second Lead and Sweep roles are covered by more experienced drivers. The order will be the following: CONVOY 1 - Ale's Lead (12 cars) @Danie in Second Lead @Taka at #3 @Hansmtb at #4 @Shamoon at #5 @Suhail Ismail at #6 @Rawad Ahmad at #7 @topgear at Center @Noufal at #9 @Sheho at #10 @UvinOverland at #11 and @Bravoecho in Sweep CONVOY 2 - Simon's Lead (11 cars) @Zahid Sharif in Second Lead @Vishal_J_C at #3 @CY Bong at #4 @Flying Horses at #5 @Ana at Center @Infaz at #7 @Amal Sunil at #8 @Vivian Dsouza at #9 @Yerem Davtyan at #10 and @JC_E in Sweep Lastly, the meeting point - take the exit from Qudra Last Exit's ADNOC station, and look for the track heading left: there is an open space facing a couple of restaurants, where you can park and start deflating, or head along (but not too far) the left-heading track (stay close to the restaurants as well).l WARNING - Make sure you have a flag, and a fully charged hand-held radio: flagless cars will be sent back for safety reasons, and we surely will not have enough spare radios for members missing it. No radio and/or no flag, NO drive. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Have a nice Saturday evening.

  3. Indeed it was a wonderful day , clean air in cool morning . 19 cars were aligned taking the long track along the military base fence toward little Sweihan where from this point the long train split in two convoys who took a divergent ways of action and thrill . the sand was compact enough to ride the slip side all the way along west side of the grid to loop from its narrow most end backward bowling up and down the hard side . The pace could never be faster than our vehicles could bear the firm ground post two days of rain . at a point we met Emanuel’s convoy to unite back to the flat sabkha for our Epic picture ( in gallery ) the same way we started the same way we ended and the train connected back safely . high lights : it was a pleasant surprise to meet @DP1011 after such a long time . thanks for joining us my friend 🙏 the terrain , dunes and pits after the rain entailed special attention and different approach to tackle each passengers , kids and families enjoyed the outing as much as we did . it was an epic social picture taking at the end . Special thanks to : @Emanuel for leading the second convoy well done my friend @Frans M in the middle sparing no effort helping especially the last one winching my Xterra from its nose dive . @JC_E for keeping a Vigilant eye on all of us from end of the convoy @Mei Ling for the quick response as second lead as well as from pulling me and Deepak one after the other from our “educational crest “ 😂 thank you a lot for the the participants from both convoys for joining and enjoying the drive . till we meet again take care and drive safe where ever you are cheers 🌹 Seidam

  4. Hello friends, thanks for a wonderful drive this morning in slightly different conditions than normal. We all started at the meeting point together, head out to our separation point, which was modified on route. The two convoys then head off for their adventures and met up towards the end of the drive for an epic stuck. Followed by a group break and social on the sabkha. Care was the focus here today to ensure we all left without any damages. It was a pleasure to join the drive in supporting the wait listed drivers and @M.Seidam. Thanks to @Gertjan for a solid second lead, @Faraz94 for minding the middle and @W a q a r for making sure we were all moving together. All the best for the new year! Here is our Relive video of the drive.

  6. Here is the Convoy 2 track from today's drive. Once we got to the dunes we had some good variety in ascent and descent, sidies, and some of the wider ridges. The rain and winds disformed many of the ridges edges, which made for some bumpy attempts at ridge riding. We did what we could, safely. It's been a couple of years since I was here last. I'm planning to come back here again in the beginning of the new year and once things have dried out again.

  14. Hi @topgear. I've looked into another Leader to take over the wait listed members, but due to the holidays none is available. I'll see if I manage to extend the convoy with a couple of extra drivers. Will confirm by tomorrow. Thanks for asking.

  15. It amazes me the kind of questions that pop up on your mind at 3:30 am @Looper😁 Well, my take on this is, very few people own broncos as it's a fairly new launch. I have seen hardly 5 cars on road till now, and the off-road heads generally go with tried and tested cars. I am yet to see a bronco in carnity drives. we should start seeing more of those soon. Thinking to change the Jeep to a yellow bronco ? Huh @Looper
