  1. Post‑Drive Report – Qudra (Near Bab Al Shams) Thank you everyone for showing up on time and ready to start promptly at 7:00 am for the briefing — much appreciated and it set the tone for a smooth and enjoyable drive. After a short trip along the track, we made our way into the dunes. The opening section featured clean dunes with minimal bushes, making for a nice warm‑up. This was followed by a middle section where the track was heavily bushed, keeping everyone alert and on their toes. We then transitioned into some really nice longitudinal dunes, with bushes mainly in between the stretches, which allowed for a fun and flowing drive. Overall, it was a great and enjoyable drive — thank you all for joining and for the positive energy throughout. A big thank you to @J-P L for sweeping and providing excellent support, helping out with a few refusals and second attempts along the way. We only needed to get the shovels out once, which says a lot about the driving today. Well done to @Infaz for stepping up as second lead for the first time — nicely done. And congratulations to @CY Bong on completing your first Fewbie drive — great job. Everyone drove really well yesterday, especially the long wheelbase vehicles, which handled the terrain confidently. Looking forward to seeing you all on the next one. Here is the link to our Relive video of the drive. https://www.relive.com/view/vRO7NB1mgKv

  2. Thanks again for all who joined our little city escape drive, and to @J-P L, @ChrisW, @Aser for the support. A special mention as well to @Amr A for bringing along two newbies with him 😁 who both drove perfectly. The weather was simply bliss, with a beautiful blue sky, some puffy white clouds, and a bit of wind. It doesn't get much better than this. The sand was extremely forgiving, but having such a great convoy and support behind my back made it even better. Without much trouble we made our way from Murquab to the Solar Tower, which was shining brightly at us. After a short break i wanted to explore the small but clean dunes just north of the Solar Tower. These dunes are smaller and more technical but we sailed through it without breaking a sweat. I was happy to see @Raptor Runner - Praveen being crested as finally we had something to do We made our way further Northwest towards the famous Three Trees at Al Qudra where we exited. All in all a good 45kms (see the track below): Wikiloc | DXB-Murquab to Qudra Solar Trail See you all in the sands soon again!

  6. Thanks again @Frederic - that was a perfect, relaxing morning drive in the desert. Good work in second lead @Amr A - you helped straighten out a few rough spots for us! Was a real pleasure to support with @J-P L and @Aser too (…and loved to see the daft dogs too!). Today’s sand was nice and easy but none the less, well driven by everyone - good convoy spacing, sensible lines and prompt radio comms. Perfect!

  7. Just as a brief follow up… On today’s drive in technical dunes the Starlink established and maintained a very stable connection whilst driving, easily good enough to have a video call in HD resolution with low latency with another member of the Carnity gang! On average it could hold 100 Mbps down, 30 Mpbs up and 25-30ms ping. Being mounted under the roof seems to be totally fine as well:
