Cost would be AED 235 per person. This location is 1 hr 10 mins ( on E65 AHAB ) If anyone needs it for tomorrow night please reach out to me on WA / Call - 052-8417000. 2. Hi @Kailas, sorry I have to leave this drive as my car is still in the workshop and seems unlikely to be finished before Saturday.

  3. Welcome Ben, Less used/abused Xterra would be better in the long run. If you can't find a clean one, then Pajero 3.8 would do good with a little extra love and care. Rem to exclude 2009 - 2012 models Pajero that have gear upshifting (known issue). @Frederic correct the year range, if I am wrong, please.

  4. Hi @Deno Vikram That is indeed a budget option, but the problem is that your OEM shocks will be operating a little bit outside their normal height range. The strain can indeed lead perhaps to premature failure of the shocks, but on the other hand they are cheap and easy to replace. I am also not sure about how the handling of the Pajero would be affected. The pajero by itself is already a bit of a wallowing boat and doesnt have the best handling as is, so this could make it much worse. Let's see if any one else went for this option and what the overall feedback is. I would be more inclined to save up a bit longer and go for a Dobinsons lift kit that will give you improved handling.

  5. Hi @Deno Vikram personally i am using the stock suspension with a only a coil lift kit and i am at least once a week in the desert ( 4 hours drives) not including the short runs with friends and family . i am running on this combination a few years so far and would say the Pajero stock shock absorbers are very good. things you must take into consideration when you lift your car is the center of gravity compensation by either installing wheel spacers or changing your wheels to a more -ve offset . as it might be very easy to get a rollover if you lift you car without the center of gravity compensation . Now to the most important question if you should/Must upgrade / lift your car. the straight forward answer is NO! taking into consideration that you are a casual offroader. but if you would like to do it that would be up to you if you like investing and spending your money on the car to look cooler. If you ask me which is more important upgrade to have for offroading Skid plate or Lift kit , i would go with the skid plate .

  7. Dear Desert Drivers, We have been a bit frustrated last week with the heavy fog and the late start of the drive. Hopefully we can start earlier this Saturday, and benefit from the full time frame. If conditions are there, the plan is to start with the high dunes near the starting point, move in the direction of Old Lady Dune, cross to Al Ain Airport area, and exit close to Al Ain. I will update tomorrow, and indicate the convoy order by the end of the afternoon.

  9. @Alphin Aloor @Pascal@Rafey Hashmi@Richard Franks@Gautam Banka@Amr A@AlexM@Asif Hussain@Senthil Kumar@Ranjan Das@[email protected] Waitlisted: @Imran Asghar@Salim Akhtar As we have now 13 cars, and two waitlisted members, this will definitely be a challenge to make it across and execute the planned route. If anyone is willing and free to shift to the second convoy led by @GauravSoni (which has only 2 cars for now), please do let us know and you are free to shift to that convoy so ideally, we can balance out the total RSVP which will be more fun and will allow for a more fluid experience. In any case, as mentioned before, both convoys will be doing very similar routes, and will meetup the same evening at the camp site.

  12. Yes for sure bad angle due to lift is the number one reason for driveshaft failure or fatigue. Drive shaft failure was a known issue in the Jeep Wrangler JK models (not so much on JL) and those owners upgraded to heavy-duty aftermarket shafts. Terraflex, Rough Country, Hurricane and Revolution are some brands u can search on the same line if you need to spend 6k. They might cost u less.
