  1. great fast paced drive, @Simon D...good to meet up with @Cha - after quite a gap and drive again with @Amir Amiri. Good job by @Alphin Aloor , couple of scary maneuvers at the first half of the drive but later came to terms with his Y61 not yet...since this is the second time i'm damaging one, thinking of a metal guard. 🤞

MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquettes Emergency details for all off roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities Drive Details Level: Fewbie and above (all levels) Meeting time: 8:00 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uSSuoGtrzEcxrKvW6 Action Plan: One more drive in one of the more pristine parts of Sweihan's desert. The area most driven in Sweihan, just left of the road leading to Al Ain, and close to a big farm vaguely resembling the shape of Africa, is also known as .... "Africa". The side of Sweihan on the right of that same road, just opposite, and south of "Africa" is much more unspoiled, and offers just as much variety of dunes, bowls, and scenery. That's what we'll explore, either exiting at the camel drome just north of the Talal Resort, or perhaps going all the way back to Darzood (along the road from Al Ain, and closer to our starting point. Don't come in a hurry to return home, as we may take some time exploring this almost virgin area. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:00 PM P.S. 9. Hope you all had good fun and below amazing stats - We covered just 20kms in 2 hours of moving time - That explains how technical this drive was and done this with No Shovel -No Rope - Is an indication that we can level up the technical challenge in next drive ! @Shaun J - Well done on your first SL position - you did well on all communications and acknowledgements, + slightly adjusting the track where needed upon my instructions ! @Prithvi Raj @Rohit Deginal - The Pajero boys ! again, was nice to see how you managed the track, with minimal refusals, and learning the trick of steering and 4L. @Rahul6157 Was impressive in how you handled your heavy beast - well done ! I know how not easy it was for you but you made it look smooth all through! @Ben Lee @Nizar Shawwa The SWB Jeep boys , making the most of the technical offerings , quietly and smoothly am sure you guys had good fun at the back ! @Sandeep Nayar You were impressive too at the end , dealing with those refusals all by yourself and @Faraz94 - Haval power continues to impress - this time in its sweep position ! well done again there ! - and as a convoy everyone did impressively well ( which i highlighted at the start of the drive as well) however I had not expected we would be able to cover this in 2 hours ! am sure you all had fun too learning to strike the right balance of acceleration and steering ! See you all soon in sand!

  10. Dear Desert Wanders, @RiadJL, @ChrisW, @Adam Black, @Mohammad91, @frederic demolder, @Giovana, @Sameer D., @Wilfredo Perez, @Sumedh Krishna, @Sviatoslav, @Vipin M, @Gary F and @Mark B. Thank you all for a great drive last night, you all drove amazingly well to make it a very enjoyable evening. We had it all from some nice flowing mid to long range dunes to a little bit of technical and some shrubbery turning it into overlanding at one point. but no matter what the desert throw at us, you all handled it superbly, with only one small stuck and a handful of refusals. so well done to each and everyone of you. A big thankyou to my second lead @frederic demolder you did an amazing job especially as it was your first night drive. well done and thanks again. In the sweep keeping us all together we had @Gary F, great comms, I heard a lot of instructions to assist the team in front of you which is of course how we learn, thanks for being there gives me piece of mind knowing the back of the convoy is safe and in good hands. In the middle we had our center forward @Mark B, maybe not as busy as we thought you would be, but still busy enough, we a lot of great instructions to handle the one stuck and the few refusals that we did encounter, great mastery over the center of the convoy which makes my job so much easier. I hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as I did @Nicolò, I hope you get your car fixed quickly and easily Have a great weekend

  11. Big thanks to Asif Bhai for posting his first drive in such an interesting area that for first 3-4 hours we all had ear-to-ear smile on some most amazing set of dunes. This area needs to be explored lot more in the future. Asif bhai lead was so nice and tight that I almost felt that he has been leading desert drive since many years. With the precision of path and confident dunes crossing he demonstrated a true example of very responsible and confident leader. However, World's best start turned into World's challenging ending when we couldn't repair the bent rack-end without proper tools and spare parts. This gave us enough time to bond with each other and demonstrate excellent teamwork, trust, and coordination while dealing with any problem. This also resulted in bonus Saturday drive that we all loved so much, by calling a recovery drive to fool our mind and families to get a second chance of going to desert in a row. lol. Last but not least, we finally found out that those Pac-Man in google earth are grass growing commercial farm from Elite Agro farm and requires formal permission to enter into the private property. Maybe next drive we can plan the route around Pac-Man to enjoy lush green grass circles in the middle of a desert.

  12. Naqhra "The Little Liwa" this was my first drive post and big thanks to @Gaurav who encouraged me to step forward and post this drive and to lead the convoy. Friday "6th" morning I was the first one to reach at meeting point and after sometime everyone started turning @gaurav @saleem @srikumar and @rahimdad finally arrived. After having a cup of tea and sandwich we all left to our deflating point. After deflating as usual practice breafing began and it was my job. Gaurav Bhai & Rahim Bhai made me so comfortable that my fear to lead disappeared, after numbering the convey gaurav bhai was in second lead to correct me if i move wrong. We started our drive around 7.30 AM and we all enjoyed a lot and after playing around at Naqhra's tallest Dune by 10AM we were on the top of the dune which is around 250mtrs above sea level. After a short break and picture taking we continued our drive, and here is the real story began, one of our vehicle got stuck while slide slopeing and we tried recovering which was not moving even an inch. After a moment we noticed one of the wheel was not turning and we found that right side tie rod was bend. Somehow we recovered the vehicle to flat surface and tried temporary solution to fix it which did not work. And finally we decided to leave the vehicle in the middle of the desert and come back next day with proper tools and parts. Our drive continued next day it was Naqhra "Recovery Drive" all of us met at a decided point at late afternoon and reached to the spot on time and replaced the parts with the help of saleem's mechanical skills and we safely exited. This whole drive was our longest drive which is calculated roughly around 24hrs... Thanks to all for joining the drive and stayed till the end and special thanks to saleem.
