If it's a personal vehicle, I would get them passed in UAQ Shamil. They don't bother as long as the engine, gear and chassis is in place. Rest don't matter. 😅

Is your clutch fan functioning like it's supposed to?
Normally when the engine temperature goes up the fan speed needs to increase to compensate for the lack of natural air flow.
One easy way to check is when the engine is cold to rotate the fan. If it rotates smoothly, that means the fan needs to be replaced. A good condition clutch fan will have rotational resistance when engine is cold

The noise feels like a rubbing noise or from the wheel bearing.
Just check if the mud guards are not scrapping the tyre especially in the front. Do you have a skid plate for the front bumper? Reason I am asking is because the Pajero front bumper without a skid plate does tend to bend inside after a couple of off-road drives.
See if you can get someone to sit with you and try to find out from which side of the car the noise is coming from. That might help to identify if it's a wheel bearing issue

I believe I do, sorry for sounding ignorant but I'm assuming the hitch receive is the slot in which the actual ball hitch is held if so then yes and I have soft shackles as well.
Yes you are right. The hitch receiver goes in the same slot as the ball hitch. You can share the photos if you wish as well.

As long as they are not a distraction to your focus, it should be fine. Children need to be belted with appropriate child / booster seats as per their age.

If you approach the gate it will open automatically.
And I used to keep saying Abraca Dabra at the gate for it to open. 😂

What is the lift on your vehicle?
Typically the drive shafts can tolerate a bit of lift, like in my XJ I have a 2.5 inch lift and the drive shaft has been working fine for the last 6 years. But I did drop my TC a bit a to reduce the angle.

This is the first time I have joined your drive @Davie Chase and it was an absolute blast, right from the briefing to the beautiful route that you took.
Loved every bit of it. Everyone drove amazingly well especially in the middle session where the whole convoy was driving in a fluid motion.
Look forward more such adventures.

Fantastic evening Fredy. Though I have not heard much of the Queen songs before, it was really great to have such a special screening. The atmosphere was even sweeter with all those who joined and danced yesterday night.
Looking forward to the next Sonic night.
P.S. @Frederic by then please learn a bit more on the history and steps of Kolaveri Di and Sheila Ki Jaawani.

Congratulations @DP1011. So when are we having the Paani Puri Drive?

To reiterate what Fred says, driving on 4L for extended periods of time at high speeds around 60-70 kmph is definitely not advised from a car manufacturer itself.
If you regularly drive at 4H, you will learn how to build the momentum to scale any level of dunes. It will be a different driving style compared to the guys driving at 4L but there is nothing that you can't achieve in 4H compared to 4L. If anything your planning and dune approach will be far better if you practice in 4H.
Plus the clubs that strongly recommend driving in 4L are backed by garages that are more interested in repairing the car that you have damaged.

Mostly the tyres or the wheel bearing for the noise upfront.
Regarding the clatter noise check your number plates bolts if they are loose.

It's definitely not OK to drive on tarmac in 4H Part time at 100km/h. The central differential gets locked 50:50 between the front and back. I also did that once mistakenly for about 80 km as the lever was stuck halfway before I realized the error. Lucky for me there was no damage.
Hope the same goes for you as well.

The Meeting point has been updated.
For this weekend I have planned the drive in 3 sections which would be a mix of rolling dunes, along with some technical patches. So expect some fast paced action.
P.S. To all the IM signups, the drive will be a FB+ 😅

Thank you @Frederic for one of the best drives I have been a part of. The terrain, the weather, and the drive participants were simply amazing. While driving through so many different types of terrain including certain portion of tarmac, I was continuously appreciating your suggestion to drive at 20 psi. It would have been a real pain to inflate and then deflate after every terrain. Ofcourse, driving in Abu Dhabi sands at 20 psi, would have been a gross insult to that terrain, so mother nature did a very good job of getting us all stuck. But once we were deflated a bit lower it was smooth sailing for the entire convoy.
Both me and Kabir really enjoyed the entire drive and we hope there is another version of this drive in the near future.

With the summer in full bloom, one of the best times to enjoy the UAE wilderness is at night. Driving at night brings a different set of challenges. This time we would be heading to Little Liwa or Sweihan where we will be presented with some of the finest terrain that UAE has to offer.
Its not mandatory to have offroad lights for this drive.
We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquettes and responsibilities.
