Thank you @JeromeFJ! A long drive to get there this morning but very much worth it! So much fun and learned a lot. @Gary F thanks for the little tug off the crest. Actually the 2nd time 🤦‍♂️ so far. I still need to work on this.

All part of the learning experience , i probably got crested at least once on my

first 20 drives, even more recent ones.. with pick up the point at which you have to keep pushing is behind the driver and the need a little extra without being fast for the inevitable belly rub the chassis will give the crest of the dune.

  2. Great drive @Islam Soliman lots of variety.

Spectacular sunrise with balloons coming in to land, a variety of technical areas, shrub navigation, fields of green, sideys and fast pace areas near the end followed by green fields  a wonderful wildlife’s tour section with large herds of Arabian Oryx, Arabian sand Gazelle and I believe a large Lizard was spotted too.

All drivers did well adjusting to the terrain and learning the sand still has multiple layers of moisture and how that affects vehicle dynamics.

I consider this my first real support drive so thank you all giving me plenty to do, as we had a few refusals, crests and stucks to deal with, a tire deflation, loose battery,  license plate instantaneous detachment and an underbody cover removal.

We had a chance to use shovels , ropes, zip ties, jack, various tools and ratchet straps.

@Johannes Roux did you get that tire checked and a new battery holder on order ?

@Prithvi Raj key in learning for all of us is finding that right level of momentum for your vehicle, you did well. (I was an expert in stucks and crests)

@Nizar Shawwa great to see you improving particularly coming down sleep slopes.

@Faraz94 good second lead , hope you get a new cover for the havall soon.

    See you next time. @Stan

    @Manesh @Danny G

i have posted some photos in the gallery.

  3. Thanks to all the marshals for the vote of confidence to join Team Carnity.

Looking forward to supporting all members on the sand and sharpening my shovels. 😃

Well dine Gary! well deserved! Now there are two gladiators supporting rounding up the wranglers 😜😜 looking for to the next one mate

Time to start looking for custom storage solutions to maximise the Gladiator bed space for tools 😂

  4. Really fun drive @Davie Chase, I haven’t been to Tawi Nizwa in some time, the location of my first drive,  you managed to find some great cleaner areas without too much traffic and tracks.

Thanks to 2nd lead opportunity, great convoy with a variation of terrain and situations to deal with, I hope to get modding on the shovel over Eid 😂

This drive was a great example of the law of gasses too with the ambient temperature around 15 Celsius when we started to 25+ when we finished, tire pressure is critical and was constantly going up as our drive progressed. https://www.chemistrylearner.com/gas-laws.html

I’ve uploaded some more photos from my copilot to the gallery.

Great support as always from @Benjamin @Mark B @Imran Asghar good to see you

  5. Really nice drive everyone,  for a night drive and with sands becoming softer you all did exceptionally well for this size convoy at this level.

I’d brought two shovels and we only got to use them once.

The back of the convey did well nice control and climbs,  we had one minor hiccup when both drivers of black wranglers needed assistance at the same time , it highlighted the importance of calling out your position number too on radio comms.

  6. So at the most recent service we were advised by agency that the front prop shaft is showing signs of wear on the 2019 Wrangler.  Not unexpected due to the lift.

Questions do we wait for failure and replace / upgrade or look for an aftermarket upgrade now.  Agency does not have it in stock now and looking for almost 6k

any recommendations on which aftermarket to go for.

Next what else should be replaced when doing this.

  7. Great drive @JeromeFJ wishing it could have lasted longer .

I managed a few climbs in the 4 hi / lo testing , conclusion need a lot more practice. I was thrown off guard on one bowl when I was in 6th gear near the limiter ( still two more gears to go) and I got a random esc stability control warning despite it already being disabled.

what I can say with the Sandrunner it was a lot easier to climb in 4lo next drive I hope to have more time @Mark B @Zed@Patrick van der Loo

looking forward to seeing the videos @Looper

Hi @Gary F all well thanks mate and  will actually be back in the sand on Friday with @Stumpy and his new toy.

Been busy getting the car back on the road and putting the toys back on.

After reviewing hours of footage I have come to the conclusion that the cause was the writing was on the wrong side 😜IMG_2833.jpeg.3b9c2325c1c55cbbf663d56ce5bf6471.jpeg

Great to hear you’ll be back in the sand this weekend . Don’t forget never leave the keys in the car 😂. And the writing does really make the tires pop.
