  1. wow thats a solid bumper!

When I put a steel bumper on my pajero (mostly for clearance after i damaged the plastic one.. i had it made of thinner steel and came to around 20kg. I didnt notice it making much of a difference other than clearance + the few times it hit a dune there was no discernable marking/ damage.. 20kg vs ~80kg is a pretty big difference tho.

while i dont have a winch ive been dragged out of stucks a few times by those who have them. My view is that they are a great connivence to save time in the extreme heat on someone elses recovery instead of doing it the 'slow way' with kinetic ropes for those very very stuck situations.. but sometimes recovery is the fun part of the day and problem solving with the ropes is enjoyable.

TLDR; thats a super heavy front combo imho, dont think a winch is *really* needed if you driving in a big group with experienced leaders.

  2. Lovely Sunday morning drive! Thanks to @Gaurav @Imran Asghar and @Mark B for getting us in and out safely.

A bit of everything was on offer today.. technical dunes, gazelles, camels, even ghekos!

My first time in murquab so it was a good drive to check out the style of drives in this area.

Around 0820 we had a short break, while some of the FEWBIE drivers practised their sidies just before we crossed into Lisalli.

We managed to cover arrive 31km before we got to the exit.

Nice driving everyone! Hope to see you again in the sand soon. And looking forward to seeing any pics you took in the gallery!

  3. Wow what a drive!

Lots of excitement, lots of drama, but no shovels or ropes!

I think from these GPS tracks it's fair to say we enjoyed looping around the bowls alot

We left right on time this morning after @DP1011 have the briefing.. heading south on a track before heading west to get a good read on the sand from the early morning light.

No warm ups allowed, we got straight into some ridge riding and switching so that @Andrew John Melvill could get a taste of what's to come on his first FB+ drive.

After playing around in the first set of bowls, we enjoyed some tea and watching another convoy tearing up the same area.

From here we touched on a sabkhas, then loops up north west into the big bowls to end the day. Big G-forces, big noise, big fun. We decided to extend the trip a bit to do some extra loops

@azad got the dreaded CEL in this final set of bowls, so we headed to an easy exit. Hope the car is feeling better soon.

Thanks @DP1011@Looper @Zulfikhar Naiyar for getting us in and out!

I really really enjoyed it and hope everyone has a great weekend. Looking forward to seeing you again in the sand soon .

Can u pls react to this post with any of your fav emoji,  if you agree with below

"5:40 We all as a convoy will commence the drive, and if anyone is late , we leave him behind and none of you will consider me rude😅🙏🏼!  - This means we all arrive on or before time and be ready for briefing 5:35! and This also means if anyone's GPS shows arrival time beyond 5:30, they leave a message or call me to say they are taking a U-turn back home"

    Thank you!

Yeah, I live in AD so the speed limit and red light traffic cameras are a well known feature for me! I have to admit that I thought I’d already crossed in to Dubai side and had a little slack as compared to the signs.

AD CARNITY CREW GOT STUNG TODAY 😭

Looks like I got caught in 1996 from the quality of the provided pictures....

  6. What a lovely drive! Thanks @DP1011 for guiding us in and out safely!

We started on time after our briefing and basically just headed due east. A couple of early refusals to @Luke K P @nithish468 @Hani crest king and we started getting some good momentum towards the fox burrows and animal graveyard.

We stopped off for a break of chai and croissants here before lowering tyre pressure and heading into the technicals.

A text book cresting from our fearless leader allowed for some good V-channel digging practice and explanations on how to recover easily from this position.

Next we had a double whammy of a bumper squish for @Talal H and pop-out for @Hani crest king

After some reinflation and @Aser ducktapping the bumper back we made our way to the exit.

Excellent driving from everyone, it was all pretty smooth and look forward to driving with you again soon.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  7. So took my pajero with steel bumper and lights and roof racks with Sharjah plates to get inspected at motor city tasjeel. Failed due to "off-road modifications only allowed with Dubai plates"

Went to tasjeel auto village in Sharjah and failed. Return car to stock.

Tasjeel Dubai gave me following advice:

    Remove plates

    Cancel registration in Sharjah

    Get export certificate to Dubai

Inspect within 24 hours in Dubai,

Register with new random Dubai plates.

Went back to motor City tasjeel, Passed without issue. Seems like Dubai plates with steel bumpers, rock sliders etc are no issues as long as combo above works.

Used some rubber bumpers with double sided tape to put on front of bumper for inspection and removed once I picked up from carpark

Good luck to others needing passing 🙏

Hi everyone! Thank you all for your suggestions, After a year of waiting, I finally received the all new 2024 Jeep Rubicon Xtreme Recon from Trading Enterprise in April. I'm excited to go on drives with you all, but I'm not sure how many kilometers I should drive before going off-road. Any suggestions?
