Will check 1more time @Luke K P The side airbags are on the outermost side of the seat backrests of the front seats. In certain sideways crashes or rollovers, the airbags will be inflated. The airbag was designed to inflate between the door panel and occupant to further enhance the protection provided to occupants in side impact crashes. The Safety Canopy deploys during significant side crashes or when a certain likelihood of a rollover event is detected by the rollover sensor. The Safety Canopy is mounted to the roof side-rail sheet metal, behind the headliner, above each row of seats. -

@Zubail have you checked your vehicle manual thoroughly to determine if you need to disable these airbags? Some recent ford models instruction manuals make specific note that side curtain and side impact airbags will NOT deploy in rollover situations. -
Hi @Victor Socaciu, thank you for your confirmation. For the radio, we recommend the Motorola/Crony MT777, Crony CN888, or Baofeng UV-5R. I have the Motorola. and the post indicated by Sunil is very valuable information. Worst case, I can lend you one for this first drive. Please have a look at the towing points, sorts of hooks or rings that you should see, in the front and in the back. They will be used in case your car is stuck, to pull you with another car. It is a simple and easy procedure, but can become difficult or dangerous if the car doesn't have proper towing points. Thank you. You can DM me at 05 88 62 09 42 if you have questions.

Why don't you get them to write in an email if the side airbag gets deployed "without an accident" will they cover this in the warranty? Now they will help you with all the support, data, and spec sheet you might need. -

I went to Al tayer, they said noway to disable, on precious generations possible with the fuse, here - system is together working with main. I wrote to main Ford to ask them, let's see. But what I found, is description of sand mode, that it's disabling traction control etc. to make driving on sand comfortable in get tested in UAE and created mainly for UAE and desert https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/img/me/en/news/2018/11/19/the-2018-ford-expeditions-sand-mode-secrets--fords-first-full-si.html -

Add X-terra to your list. Even stock those things are tough yet light making them highly capable in the dunes. Cheap to fix, maintain and to buy. Pajero is everything above just a bit better as Fred mentioned but they are a little bit more expensive Avoid Jeeps.

Good morning, Thank you for signing up for the drive on Saturday morning. We have a lot of attendance including the waitlist and unfortunately, I will not be able to accept everyone. If the convoy is too long, it becomes more difficult to have all cars running together, and if we have more issues, or more cars stuck, it takes more time for the whole convoy. So... this is what I will do @Giacomo @ChrisW @Wilfredo Perez @Ozgu @Adam Black @nithish468 @Joji varghese @Rajath Shetty @jinoy @Zubail @Walter Palk @Zubair @Gary F, you are confirmed. No action from your side, but let me know or remove your RSVP if you changed your plan. @Victor Socaciu @Benjamin, first 2 in the wait list, I'm adding you to the drive. Please confirm your attendance. @Martin Schwaiger @Julian Patterson @Martin M @Ahmed Farouk, you are in the wait list, in that order. If before Friday 7:00 pm, one of the above indicates he is not coming, I will add you. Thank you for your understanding. I will communicate by the end of the afternoon tomorrow the convoy order and radio channel. Stay tuned!

Armada were made in US in that era and falls apart after 5-10 years of use. If you have one already then they are fine as a forceful offroad toy, but for buying one as a dedicated offroader, I wouldn't vote. Apart from build quality and electric issues, being extra big and heavy will limit you offroad adventure after 5 drives.

@Gaurav and @Frederic Thanks for your replies, sorry I was caught up with a few personal errands and couldn't reply back. It's harder than I thought to find a decent pathfinder in my budget, same for Pajero. Meanwhile I was drawn back to consider Armada (2007-2012) as it falls in my budget and the Armadas in this range are in better condition than the Pathfinders I've seen so far. Its V8 engine is going to make me sweat, but i feel it may be more comfortable for the family plus a decent offroader. Your thoughts on this please ? and Maintenance costs?
