DRIVE DESCRIPTION

Faqa area can offer the best of both worlds, tricky technical portions and long range dunes. We will try to take advantage of both, possibly using the sabkha to connect between different areas.

We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquette and responsibilities.

DRIVE DETAILS

Level:  Fewbie and above

When:  11 November 2023, Saturday

Meeting time:   06:30 - Sharp (Without any exceptions)

Approximate finish time:  10:30

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Mandatory off-road gears: Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit, Tow Rope, 2 Shackles and fire extinguisher.

 

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

• This drive is limited to 10 cars only. RSVP will close on Friday - 12 PM.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you find you are unable to join, so your spot can be taken by others in the waitlist.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, if an RSVP attendee removes themselves, you will be moved from the waitlist to the RSVP list as an attendee.
• A convoy list will be sent out the day prior to the drive.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

yes sir, this would be my first drive with carnity. Is this newbie drive mandatory for all newly joined regardless of experience?

In order to transfer any offroad experience that you have, please kindly follow the below steps explained on the link below:

I believe only after you have done at least 1 newbie drive and you have applied for rank promotion you will be allowed to enter higher ranks drives.

Yes indeed, we request every new joiner to start with a Newbie drive as a minimum, and from there, after discussion with the Lead or Marshal,  you can apply to have your previous experience transferred, and if accepted, join Fewbie drives. This is to ensure our minimum rules for safely driving in convoy are well understood, and as you can guess "previous experience" can mean anything from family picnic to expert driving...

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT NOTICE

There is a professional off-road event this weekend Dubai Baja International taking place in the area of Qudra - Solar Park - Faqa. Not sure of their exact track, but for sure they need space, and I don't want to have one of them flying into the convoy from behind a dune. 

I will relocate the starting point further South, close to Nahel

It is a bit further away from Dubai, but it is a very nice area where we can approach bigger dunes.

However, I totally understand if it doesn't match your plans for the day, and I will not blame you if you choose another drive or remove your RSVP.

I hardly drive nowadays due to job rota, I am in .
