Morning Intermediate Drive - Badayer Sprint - Sharjah - 11 Apr 2026

Recommended Posts

About a year ago, in May 2025, I joined @Looper Intermediate drive which started from Shuwaib. It was a great learning experience and a memorable journey across varied terrain.

This time, we plan to approach the drive differently by starting from the Badayer side and progressing toward Shuwaib. With a group of maximum 8 cars, the intention is to enjoy a steady Intermediate-level drive, focusing on flow and control.

The plan is to progress in the direction of Shuwaib, making the most of the terrain along the way. Depending on time, pace, and conditions, we will aim to finish near Shuwaib, with flexibility to exit earlier if needed. Safety, flow, and enjoyment will take priority over reaching a fixed endpoint.

Please read, understand, and follow the guidelines, etiquette, and responsibilities below.

@Ishak hope you're doing well. Since sand might be a bit wet, how much should I deflate my A/T Geolanders too? 12 psi or a bit higher - 13 to 14? Thanks

Hi @Abhishek Chikara, I am doing well thank you, hope the same on your side.
That is good point to be aware of. After last week rain, the top layer may looks normal sand but 10 - 15 cm below may still hard and compacted. lets call it "Sand with hidden concrete". This condition may be good for high climb because it has natural base support like a concrete, but it is is tricky for sideload for when we will do ridges and sidies.

So lets start with 14 - 16 psi for non beadlock, and 12 - 14 for beadlock. We wil adjsut later wen we have more refusal to a lower pressure.

Sorry guys for the last minute dropout. I’m still actually at work, there has been quite a lot of delays today hence I’m still here. No way I’ll get back from Abu Dhabi in time for the drive so I’ll have to sit this one out … again ☹️ …. Enjoy!!

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for showing up for this drive. It was a great drive and felt really good to be back on the IM drive after quite a long time. The sand was a bit challenging with many cross tracks, so thank you for being cautious and steering down whenever needed. We managed to cross from Badayer to Shuwaib right on time, with enough room for play and proper break time. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Thanks to @Frans M for being the second lead, polishing the track and maintaining perfect distance to react whenever needed.

@Abhishek Chikara and @Alphin Aloor you both drove very well and it was clear you enjoyed the climbs. Up, up, and keep going! 😅.

@Cha, thank you for the great support and for making sure everyone stayed on track. We returned as a complete team with no one missing, well done 🤣.

We had a nice surprise when we reached the top of Iftar Bowl from the back side and while riding the ridge downhill, seeing Dr. @M.Seidam there watching us. Thank you once again for the support and the helpful rerouting.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the next drive!

A bit late but thanks so much @Ishak for the wonderful and start to the weekend. Enjoyed it thoroughly - the second half in particular was amazing with clean dunes, beautiful ridges, and great momentum. Thanks again :) Thank you @Frans M, @Cha for the constant support throughout the drive. It was wonderful to see you @M.Seidam at Iftar Bowl, and here's hoping we get to see you at Nahel next weekend :)
